The gunner player wasn’t alard but rather delighted when he saw the enemy charging closer despite the damage. His weapon instantly morphed into a thick rocket launcher over two ters long, and he fired a rocket at the square-faced middle-aged man charging fearlessly!
Given the close range between the two sides, launching such a powerful attack wasn’t an ideal choice as it could easily blow himself up too. But the gunner player had obviously considered this; right after firing the missile, he leaped back into the bronze doors, letting the Black Tower itself absorb the blast’s aftermath.
"Unmoving Mountain!"
The square-faced middle-aged man calmly used his defensive skill in response. He knew dodging was impossible as the enemy’s missile was target-locked. His only option was to withstand this fierce attack, transforming into a small stone mountain. Although this dropped his mobility to zero, it increased his defense ability exponentially.
This power wasn’t his job skill but derived from the Spiritual Mountains and Rivers Map, which had shown its might when helping everyone break through the native encirclent yesterday, embodying the mountain’s ability.
Boom~
A massive explosion erupted at the Black Tower’s entrance. Amidst the intense flas and deafening roar, the tower didn’t tremble in the slightest. Instead, the surrounding desert was shaken, scattering sand and stones, among which the stones ca from the small mountain blocking the missile.
When the dust finally settled, the partly blasted mountain was gone, and the players were nowhere to be seen. It was unclear whether they hid inside the Black Tower or escaped into the desert.
Wang Zhifan, located on the top floor of the Black Tower, couldn’t possibly be unaware of such turmoil. He disliked being disturbed and imdiately stopped his ditation to prepare a harsh lesson for the troublemakers after the explosion.
"Do these people think they can live forever? I don’t care if they ss around inside the Black Tower, but causing big explosions outside, are they deliberately trying to disturb my ditation?"
Wang Zhifan hadn’t set any sound barriers outside, so he was quite displeased. He swiftly used the Black Tower’s power to check the recent events, finding the culprit gunner player inside the tower, seemingly ready to charge out again for another blast.
"Get out of here!"
Wang Zhifan imdiately activated the tower’s power, transporting this botherso guy outside. The player appeared montarily startled and quickly found himself under attack from both sides.
"What’s going on... Bullet Ti!"
This Xia Country gunner player was indeed befuddled. He had planned to ss with the players outside from the safety of the Black Tower entrance, but without warning, he was outside of the tower, as if he’d been teleported.
His two enemies were outside, and upon seeing him erge, they launched a mixed-gender double assault, forcing him to use Bullet Ti for ergency response.
"Damn it! Why can’t I get back into the tower?"
Frantically, the gunner player tried to re-enter the tower through the door but failed, leaving him with a headache. He had no choice but to use jumping shots, rolling shots, and other job skills to deal with the two enemies closing in.
"Stop! It’s all a misunderstanding! Xia Country people don’t attack Xia Country people!"
Even while battling one against two, the gunner player could launch a verbal assault, hoping for a ceasefire from the players he ambushed. However, they wouldn’t spare him, instead attacking more fiercely.
The square-faced middle-aged man charged at him with a body glowing white, while a female Assassin remained hidden, looking for a chance to backstab and slit his throat. But this proactive gunner player had impressive agility and awareness, dodging and shooting while moving rapidly along the Black Tower’s edge, giving the opponents no chance to hit him.
The battle continued briefly until the rumbling of multiple heavy helicopters echoed from the desert, causing the three players to stop fighting and assess the situation.
"Not good! Those natives are coming! Get into the tower, quickly!"
Having been to the natives’ area, they quickly recognized the helicopters as native-piloted, with no doubt that they were coming to cause trouble.
Continuing the fight would only result in the natives taking advantage and annihilating or capturing them all. Escaping into the vast, scorching desert was also suicide, given the deadly threats posed by the approaching natives and harsh environnt. Hiding in the magical Black Tower was their only refuge.
As the heavy helicopters surrounded and landed in the desert around the Black Tower, the glowing square-faced man and the invisible young woman swiftly dashed back into the tower. The gunner player was the last, trying once more and finding he could suddenly enter the tower, rushing inside with joy.
This sudden access was Wang Zhifan’s doing. Noticing the newcors, he had so ideas he planned to execute later, best done inside the tower.
At this mont, nurous eccentrically dressed n and won jumped from the helicopters, running across the scorching sand to surround the Black Tower.
Only one person hovered in mid-air above the tower, standing without support. He wore a white lab coat and glasses, looking very young—a BOSS-level formidable enemy encountered by so players at the town market, Zhong Wei.
"This tower gives a peculiar feeling... It’s definitely not an ordinary building."
As an S-class combat ability user and a talented dual-power, Zhong Wei wasn’t arrogant. He stood over ten ters high, quietly observing the seemingly nondescript Black Tower below, analyzing its potential features with his powers.
If it were just a normal building, he could easily use his powerful gravity ability to uproot it and smash it to the ground, turning it into rubble. Yet, his sharp instincts warned that doing so would lead to very bad outcos. Trusting his intuition, he chose not to act rashly.
"Report! Based on preliminary search and visual judgnt, all outsiders have entered the Black Tower! The ability user team requests permission to enter and engage in combat!"
A voice quickly reached Zhong Wei from the ground below, belonging to one of the two hundred combat ability users he brought here, specifically to capture the outsiders gathered in the desert.
"Begin... Be cautious of the outsiders’ thods, preferably capture them alive."
He calmly announced the start of a capture operation, his two hundred ability users below quickly splitting into teams, dashing towards the Black Tower’s bronze doors.
anwhile, on the top floor of the Black Tower, Wang Zhifan wore an ’as expected’ expression.
He had guessed these natives ca specifically for the players when he noticed their approach, as the sudden influx of players into this deserted place last night seed peculiar.
It seed his guess was correct: these people were driven into the desert by the natives, though he wasn’t sure how they found the Black Tower.
"I certainly have the ability to shield all players inside the Black Tower from these natives. But why should I? I’m not their caretaker... This is my private domain, allowing them refuge for one night is already magnanimous. The rest they must earn themselves..."
Wang Zhifan quickly decided. He chose to grant the approaching natives access to the tower, connecting all the internal tower climbing spaces and increasing the number of floor monsters to orchestrate a chaotic battle spectacle.
