Now reading: Chapter 633 - 415: Demon-Slaying, Sudden Upheaval (Part 2) from Global Game: I Can Choose Instance Rewards, a Game novel by Autumn Pond Wood.

The white-gold edged folding fan in his hand suddenly swung out, causing the entire battlefield to be dazzled by the waterfall of ink words that appeared out of thin air. It was as if the Wenqu Star had descended from the nine heavens, dropping a grand piece of writing, suppressing the enormous Demon Venerable in its explosive state into an ocean of ink in an instant.

At the sa ti, sixteen Confucian Sect masters behind the powerful Confucian scholar known as Qingfeng simultaneously opened their mouths, chanting with all their might to bestow more Confucian cultural energy upon him. In that mont, the thunderous roar seed to shake the heavens and the earth!

"We Confucian scholars!"

"Establish a heart for the world!"

"Endow life for the people!"

"Inherit the lost teachings for the past saints!"

...

The verses chanted by these supporting Confucian scholars were sowhat familiar to Wang Zhifan, rendering him speechless. Unexpectedly, the four phrases of Hengqu existed in this world, and they had beco words of actual effect.

Amidst the grand and orderly chanting of the Confucian scholars, Wang Zhifan perceived that the aura of Qingfeng was rapidly soaring, akin to a rocket increasing his strength four or five tis over in a short period. This sudden surge of power was channeled entirely into the sea of literature that just attacked the Demon Venerable, perfectly coordinated with the sixteen fellow masters behind him.

However, this extraordinary burst lasted for only a very short ti. The blessing of Confucian cultural energy ca and went quickly. In the perception of all, Qingfeng, who had seed to reach the pinnacle almost instantly, had his aura swiftly recede, dropping to about twenty percent stronger than his initial level, with only so residual effects of his fellows’ blessing remaining.

Yet, even if his peak mont was extrely brief, it was sufficient to face this adversary. Because just now, under his full exertion, he completely crushed the Demon Venerable with the Confucian Saint Demon-Slaying Chapter, leaving it devoid of any previous might. Even if it didn’t vanish in an instant, the difference wasn’t far off.

Such astounding results imdiately prompted Qingfeng, who gained much spotlight, to laugh aloud, feeling that he had reached the pinnacle of his life. As he turned gracefully to lead the people away, he shook the folding fan in his hand and loudly mocked the shocked Buddhist Sect people nearby:

"Hahaha! I told you long ago, this demon is nothing much! You Buddhist Sect should cease ntioning demon eradication and upholding the way! Just a bunch of useless fools, adding laughter indeed!"

These few sentences, much like the chants and blessings of the Confucian scholars before, resonated across the fields, completely disregarding the Buddhist Sect’s dignity. They sounded domineering and extrely gratifying, causing many Buddhist Sect disciples present to gnash their teeth and turn their faces as black as pot bottoms, unable to do anything about it.

Indeed, the ordinary Buddhist Sect disciples couldn’t possibly handle such a situation. Even without ntioning the prohibition against internal conflict laid down by their own Saints, they weren’t a match for Qingfeng and others. And given the astonishing performance of the other party just now, which eradicated the Demon Venerable that three high monks from the Buddhist Sect couldn’t handle for a long ti almost in the blink of an eye, they naturally couldn’t retort.

But at that very mont, sothing strange occurred on the entire battlefield.

The three Buddhist Sect high monks, who should have felt humiliated, stood calmly near the pit containing the "remains" of the Demon Venerable, displaying faces of extre seriousness. They completely ignored Qingfeng and others who were laughing loudly and turning to leave.

Without a doubt, the attention of these three high monks was focused on the spot where the Demon Venerable was supposedly vanquished. On that ground, ravaged by the massive Confucian demon-slaying Chapter’s cultural energy, where the previously faint-breathed and seemingly extinguished Demon Venerable’s aura suddenly began to restore at a high speed and split into three extrely powerful entities!

"Hmm?"

Qingfeng, who was at the peak of his life, couldn’t help but slowly turn around, an expression of uncontainable shock surfacing on his handso face.

It’s no wonder he was shocked — he simply couldn’t comprehend what kind of anomaly had occurred for the Demon Venerable to suddenly resurrect, utterly transcending his understanding.

At the sa ti, on the edge of the battlefield, Wang Zhifan, who witnessed the sa eerie scene, was also left baffled.

Even as an outsider, he couldn’t quite grasp what had just transpired. According to his analysis, the Demon Venerable was indeed annihilated by Qingfeng, yet the opponent suddenly revived threefold, completely beyond his knowledge scope.

While Wang Zhifan was mulling over, the Dragon Lady by his side murmured softly:

"As I suspected, the Demon Venerable was in a conjoined state, ford by three powerful demons rged into one through a secret technique. Conjoining is both weakening and tempering. Now that they have overco a calamity, eliminating them again will be extrely troubleso..."

After the Dragon Lady’s explanation, Wang Zhifan imdiately grew uneasy, curiously inquiring:

"A conjoined demon? What kind of entity is that?"

The Dragon Lady didn’t ignore Wang Zhifan’s question this ti, cautiously surveying the far-off situation while elucidating:

"Conjoining is a secret technique mastered in the Demon Realm, essentially rging demons of equal realm into one.

This process yields various outcos: so demons get completely devoured by others, or they might temporarily co-exist, entering a peculiar state.

In the ancient texts of the Mieyue race, it’s recorded that conjoined demons mostly can’t maintain their state for long because of inherent conflicts among demons. The combined might of conjoined demons is usually less than the sum of three separately acting demons, and the ntal faculties of conjoined demons typically decrease too.

However, conjoining is a special cultivation thod among demons. If they can maintain this state for long enough, the potential of each demon enhances. They begin to blend their advantages, thus collectively becoming stronger...

You should recall that the Demon Venerable had three heads, each showing different features, which is a trait of being a conjoined demon..."

The Dragon Lady explained in more detail, drawing from her race’s ancient texts, suggesting that her ancestors might have mingled in the Demon Realm.

According to her, the battlefield situation now was that the Demon Venerable, in the recent great battle, didn’t actually die. The joint attack from the Confucian Sect rely broke its conjoined state — a special cultivation state from the Demon Realm. Once disrupted, the Demon Venerable might beco stronger, akin to a long-term cultivator breaking self-imposed constraints, with years of cultivation results surfacing, making it many tis stronger.

"..."

After listening to her explanation, Wang Zhifan involuntarily rubbed his chin, faintly frowning. He felt this world truly held countless oddities. Demons were already peculiar and hideous enough; who knew they had developed such bizarre practices, utterly beyond his comprehension.

While the two exchanged insights, at the center of the distant battlefield, out of the enormous pit struck by Qingfeng’s astounding technique, leaped three figures exuding terrifying auras.

They were: a short demon with a little girl-like human face engulfed in blue flas; a tall black demon with a young human man-like face; and a slender white demon bearing the human-like face of an old woman.

Saying their features resemble humans doesn’t imply they have identical human heads, but rather their facial structure closely aligns with human features, which, despite clearly not being humans, gives an inescapable sense of familiarity.

Such phenona aren’t rare among demons; so demons naturally resemble humans, so even share close likenesses as a special group, which is why these entities from the Demon Realm bear the na "demons."

"Qingfeng brat! See what you’ve done!"

With a supposed single Demon Venerable disturbed into three almost equal-level entities, now holding greater threat, the three high monks of the Buddhist Sect roared furiously at Qingfeng, whose face twitched.

Thinking back to the deanor of the three high monks earlier, it’s hard not to suspect they already sensed the truth and were rely waiting for a chance to pass the bla onto the Confucian Sect.

Regardless, it’s now that Confucian Sect’s turn to lose face. Their leader had just boasted about their superior demon-eradicating prowess compared to the Buddhist Sect, and now, with nearly threefold formidable foes, how would they cope?
