Zhang Xue Tao found Yuan Shaohua’s smile at this mont particularly chilling, like wearing a mask of truth, hiding a completely opposite expression beneath it.
Having been a principal for so many years, he hadn’t made much progress in other skills, but his ability to read people had advanced by leaps and bounds.
Especially the young, he understood them well.
The others in the eting room looked at each other and didn’t raise any objections; after all, it wasn’t them who were being captured, so it didn’t matter much.
However, they didn’t even know what the standards for the so-called "suspicious individuals" were, nor were they able to search, and could only pretend to search every household perfunctory.
In their managent area, with tens of thousands of people, searching door to door would take a lot of ti.
The news about this incident also spread rapidly within the managent area.
A large number of people believed that the seven individuals taken away by Yuan Shaohua had indeed been chosen by the Wizards, expecting better luck awaiting them, and secretly lanted why they had no such luck?
The sky was barely bright, with a few rays of light piercing through the black mist, dimly visible was the dawn, and many people in the managent area had already risen, gathering at the nearby square.
They were considered "laborers," needing to help build watchtowers and other peculiar structures during the dayti.
Most of these buildings were beyond their comprehension, possessing peculiar powers.
"Since they can beco Wizards, can we also beco Wizards?" A man draped in a loose gray leather armor, carrying a little girl on his back, mused thoughtfully.
He had eagle-like eyes, broad eyebrows, and if Su Changxing saw him, he would recognize him as one of the elders of the Player Mutual Aid Association, Luo Haotian.
He did not leave Donglin City, instead, he happened to remain there by chance.
The little girl was his niece, Luo Yi, and beside him carrying a large basket was his cousin, Luo Haoyi.
Luo Haoyi, with a stern face, said calmly:
"Even if we could, what difference would it make? Do you think they would give us a chance? Those Extraordinary individuals or superpower users are all imprisoned...don’t bother thinking about these things."
He believed that in these tis, surviving was the most important thing, everything else was illusory, even if one beca extraordinary, they’d still die if destined.
"Yes, brother, you are right."
Luo Haotian yawned, his eyes half-closed, as if he wasn’t fully awake.
Suddenly.
He felt a vibration coming from his pocket.
"What is that?"
He realized it was the coin given by Su Changxing vibrating, and the coin’s range was limited, only usable near Donglin City for communication.
"Has Mr. Clown not left, or has he returned?"
A flash of delight passed through his eyes, this might be a variable; he couldn’t change things, but Mr. Clown could.
At this mont.
Su Changxing discovered he could contact Luo Haotian, which ant Luo Haotian hadn’t left the vicinity of Donglin City.
What surprised him was that Luo Haotian stayed in Donglin City, concealing his identity as an Extraordinary with so mysterious item.
Moreover, he learned a lot about the current situation in Donglin City and so critical information from Luo Haotian.
Ordinary people were all controlled and concentrated in managent areas, and there was more than one managent area.
Extraordinary individuals and so superpower users were imprisoned in newly erected prisons.
"Imprisoned? What do they want? Do they hope to ta these people, or is there another purpose?"
Su Changxing thought of the Doomsday Ga, the Wizards likely discovered the existence of the Doomsday Ga and were studying it.
Wizards themselves were the best doctors, the best biologists, passionate about the study of the human body.
This was seemingly one of the reasons for their robust physiques.
He also received another piece of important news: Donglin City was attacked by unknown forces last night, causing an explosion that destroyed a watchtower, creating a significant disturbance.
The Law Enforcent Wizards in Donglin City were investigating the culprit.
Then, Su Changxing instructed Luo Haotian not to act rashly, advising him to stay hidden as much as possible. If he wasn’t exposed, he could continually acquire crucial information.
Nearly none of the players from the Security Bureau survived in Donglin City. Those who did were imprisoned, and communication was cut off, their fates unknown.
It wasn’t until the early morning that Su Changxing managed to contact Chen Ling, asking him to try and contact Guo Fengyan to see how things were on their end.
Guo Fengyan wasn’t dead; he had been taken to Donglin City.
Not far from Luo Haotian’s managent area was a newly constructed enormous prison, black like the watchtower, made from the sa material.
Inside were imprisoned all the superpower users, or extraordinary individuals, or so misbehaving soldiers, even Wizards.
Guo Fengyan and others were escorted here.
"Is this a prison?"
Guo Fengyan gazed at the huge ring-shaped building in surprise.
A large portion of the prison was sunken underground; from the exterior, one could see the notably hollowed areas, including drainage pipes and other facilities.
"Don’t speak! This is where you will be staying afterward."
The leading officer’s reprimand ca through, his deanor unpleasant; they were quite wary of this place too.
"I’ve heard very few can walk out of here alive."
A few soldiers walked along the side, discussing in hushed tones.
"It’s not just a prison, don’t you know?"
"Oh, if not a prison, then what?"
"Also a laboratory, the Wizards’ laboratory."
An older soldier slowly said.
Entering the prison.
From the side, they saw layers upon layers of underground cells, each separated by thick walls, yet shrouded in darkness, obscuring the exact situation, with muffled howls faintly echoing through the cracks.
"Officer, do you need sothing?"
A voice laden with magnetism.
Sitting atop the hall was a frog, or perhaps a person with a frog-like head; wisdom flashed in his green eyes, with a hint of shadow.
"We specifically apprehended these Extraordinary individuals. The Wizards need such materials...I’ve heard there have been noteworthy discoveries before."
The officer expressed respect, promptly responding, not at all surprised at this individual’s appearance.
The frog-headed person nodded, rely an obligatory inquiry, and said, "Take them down; soone below will take over."
The officer nodded, leading Guo Fengyan and others downward, the wailing beca increasingly clear, sending chills down one’s spine.
Fear was evident on the faces of Guo Fengyan and others; none of them could remain calm at this point.
The phone vibrated.
[Mission failed, you did not successfully escape.]
Upon seeing this ssage, Guo Fengyan’s heart trembled; he had received the Doomsday Ga’s escape mission, instructing them to flee before entering the prison.
But ultimately, he didn’t choose to escape; the chains on his body bound them, leaving no opportunity for escape, and if they did, they would be recaptured.
He had previously pondered if this was the Doomsday Ga’s warning, advising them not to get imprisoned here.
As they proceeded further in, sothing occurred that terrified him; the phone’s signal was lost, and the screen went black.
This area was beyond the Doomsday Ga’s reach!
These Wizards had evaded the Doomsday Ga’s surveillance.
And now his only reliance was the Doomsday Ga.
"Brother Fengyan, what’s wrong?" The bespectacled young man asked softly.
Guo Fengyan glanced at him without speaking.
The middle-aged man in a leather jacket said mockingly, "Who knows what you said before, but I have always hated traitors the most."
The young man, gritting his teeth, said, "I didn’t do anything, believe it or not, and at this point, does it really matter?"
"Stop talking; do you want to die?" The soldier escorting them downward shouted angrily.
The group imdiately fell silent.
The soldiers’ intimidation persisted; several people had been killed along the way, so even beaten to death.
They were brought to the sixth underground floor, where everyone was confined separately. Guo Fengyan was singled out, taken to the seventh underground floor.
He was extraordinary, different from the others.
The officer who brought them had already left, and now leading him was a prison guard in a black uniform, with a snake-tailed whip hanging from his waist, tiny sparks of lightning flickering over it.
"Sir, where are we going?"
Guo Fengyan dared to ask, his heart filled with unease.
The prison guard glanced at him, a playful smile appearing: "Where? Just follow, you’ll see. You’re quite bold, asking questions here, lucky for you I’m in a good mood today."
Jiri, jiri, jiri~
A sound, hair-raising and close, like sothing crawling, nurous eyes spread across the ceiling.
They stared at the two as they walked down the corridor.
