"You?"
Luo Haotian’s face showed a look of surprise; he sensed the aura of a wizard emanating from Yuan Shaohua.
So intense and so genuine.
Could they beco wizards?
Luo Haotian didn’t know, but who could resist such a possibility?
To him, there was no essential difference between wizards and the Extraordinary, both could acquire powerful abilities, just in different forms.
They couldn’t tell who was truly good or bad.
But from the current situation, people from the Wizard World seed formidable, those wizards were indeed powerful.
Yuan Shaohua smiled and said, "If you leave now, I can pretend nothing ever happened. I assure you there won’t be any trouble later on, and we can even cooperate."
"That’s not necessary."
Once again, Luo Haotian charged forward wielding a short knife, blue patterns, densely packed with characters, appeared on his arm.
The air was suddenly displaced, creating a sharp sound.
The stab was swift, full of force.
Seeing sothing amiss, Yuan Shaohua leapt backward, jumping downstairs, but received a heavy blow on his back, the flesh was torn apart.
Just as Luo Haotian was preparing to chase, he sensed sothing shooting towards him and quickly dodged to the side.
With a loud bang,
a pitch-black spear pierced the wall beside him, tearing through it.
From the distant street, a soldier noticed the anomaly, running towards them, the spear had co from him.
Luo Haotian took out two hand grenades from his pocket, pulled the rings, and threw them to where Yuan Shaohua had landed, retreating backward.
He knew he couldn’t stay here any longer.
Yuan Shaohua’s strength was beyond imagination, he had missed the best opportunity.
With the explosion, smoke completely engulfed Yuan Shaohua’s body.
...
Accompanied by heavy panting, Luo Haotian escaped back to his previous position, removing his disguise, climbing up the stairs from the shadows.
Once caught, it would surely lead him to a dead end!
Looking up, in the darkness, a man stood at the doorway, staring at him.
"What have you been up to, Haotian?"
Luo Haoyi looked at Luo Haotian, asking with a serious expression.
Luo Haotian hid his bloodied left hand behind his back, tucked away in his sleeve, and replied nonchalantly:
"I felt a bit stuffy and couldn’t sleep, so I went out for so air. Why, can’t you sleep either, brother?"
Luo Haoyi licked his lips, saying, "It’s dangerous outside; it’s not like it used to be. Don’t go out randomly."
Luo Haotian smiled and said, "Yeah, got it, won’t happen again."
He felt a bit alard, unsure of how Luo Haoyi discovered he had gone out. Was it a re coincidence?
In such an environnt, he couldn’t trust anyone, even family.
Thinking this, he felt his mouth turn dry, bitter.
Luo Haoyi said no more, turned around and walked into the room. His nose twitched; he slled blood.
His sense of sll was always keen, now even keener.
He knew that wasn’t Luo Haotian’s blood; it was soone else’s, carrying a filthy scent.
...
What puzzled Luo Haotian was the lack of widespread information about Yuan Shaohua’s attack, even no sign of it.
The next morning, everything proceeded as usual. He and Luo Zhihao once again carried their baskets, following the crowd towards the square, under the somber light.
······
In the murky darkness, the sound of water droplets, faint light pierced through the barred hallway.
Guo Fengyan awoke from unconsciousness, lying on the ground, staring at the intricate patterns on the ceiling, aware that he was in a cramped prison.
This prison might only hold one to two people.
He heard no sounds, except his heartbeat, breath, and the repetitive dripping of water.
Here, it seed he was utterly alone.
Uncertain of how long passed, he finally couldn’t hold back.
"Is anyone there!"
He grabbed the dark iron bars with both hands, shouting, hoping there were other cellmates nearby, possibly able to communicate, glean information about the current situation.
No response ca.
Here, it seed he was the only one.
"Is the sound isolated? Or sothing else." He doubted he was the sole inmate; he wouldn’t receive such special treatnt.
Soon, footsteps sounded from outside, boots lightly treading the ground, shifting between fast and slow, sotis pausing.
The sound gradually drew near.
A girl with a blue ponytail stopped outside the bars, tilting her head to look at him, a strange smile on her face.
Guo Fengyan’s body trembled involuntarily, yet he felt he had seen this person sowhere, inexplicably familiar.
He was certain she must be a wizard, otherwise, she wouldn’t appear in this prison. Therefore, it couldn’t be soone he had t.
Perhaps rely similar.
He expected her to say sothing, but she didn’t.
The girl turned her head and walked away, disappearing at the end of the corridor.
It was then that Guo Fengyan noticed a row of bloody footprints on the floor, outlining the patterns on the soles.
He rembered those patterns; they were common, found on many branded shoes.
By convention, people from the Wizard World wouldn’t wear such shoes, but nothing was certain.
"Will I die here?"
Guo Fengyan questioned, his eyes laced with a hint of despair, instinctively looked at his phone, surprisingly finding signal again.
"I am no longer in the original location?"
He recalled there was no signal inside the previous prison.
Guo Fengyan attempted once again, discovering his powers were still restrained, unable to forcibly break the bars, all personal items had been seized.
[Mission (Escape the Prison): Difficulty S, you’ve arrived at an unknown prison, unsure of what to do, escaping is the only thing you can think of now.
1. Escape. (Reward: a promotion, gain the ability "Escape Expert")
2. Fail. (You are destined to die here, eternally imprisoned in this sunlightless place, who knows?)]
"So it’s like this······ but given my current situation, escaping seems impossible unless with external assistance."
He eyed the phone, scanning through, so could be contacted, others had perished, but he focused on Chen Ling’s ID.
This was their only lifeline at present.
"Captain Chen, I am now trapped in an unknown prison, requesting your departnt’s help. I suspect I will be held here indefinitely."
After sending the ssage, Guo Fengyan collapsed on the ground again, gazing around, his emotions inevitably unraveled, and his body felt odd.
He suspected that child-like wizard had done sothing to him, feeling sothing amiss.
Soon, Chen Ling replied.
"{You an you’re no longer in the original location?}"
"{Seems like it; my phone has signal again. Maybe in the wizards’ eyes, I’m no longer of much use.}"
"{Are there other people around you?}"
"{No, no one around, including guards, but a blue-haired woman walked past the corridor; I suspect she’s a wizard.}"
Chen Ling looked at his phone, briefly silent, sensing sothing strange about the situation in Donglin City, those wizards seed preoccupied with other matters.
"{We currently have no solution, but maintain contact; if there’s an opportunity, we will rescue you.}"
"{Thank you, Captain Chen.}"
Guo Fengyan lifted his head, suddenly sensing sothing creeping on the ceiling, emitting a spine-chilling sound.
