If you want to learn about Middle Eastern history, go read the General History of the Arabs, and you'll soon be overwheld by the lengthy and similar nas. This article is here to help everyone sort out the Arabic (Muslim) naming conventions.

The Arabians do not have surnas, so they will include their son, father, grandfather, family, nickna, etc., to distinguish themselves from others.

Ibn ans son of soone, usually followed by the father's na. It's often translated as bin.

Alb ans father of soone, usually followed by the eldest son's na.

Al is an article, similar to the in English, usually followed by a title.

Generally speaking, a complete Arab na is structured as follows:

Na Ibn. father's na Ibn. grandfather's na Al. title.

The full na of the Prophet Muhammad is Muhammad bin Abdullah bin Abdul Mutalib bin Hashim. From this na, we can see that the Prophet's father was Abdullah, his grandfather was Abdul Mutalib, and his great-grandfather was Hashim.

In summary, Arab nas generally fall into the following categories:

1. Abdu (abdu) series

2. Din (DIN) series

3. Prophets and Saints series

4. Historical figures

5. Other series

One, Abdu (abdu) series

Abdu ans servant of soone. The most familiar one to us, Abdullah, actually ans servant of Allah. If what follows Abdu is not Allah, it's often translated as Abdul.***.

For example, the ancestor of the cca's Quraish Tribe was Abdul Samms (sun), aning servant of the Sun God. After the Islamic era, the Prophet Muhammad adjusted this na. Besides Abdullah, ninety-nine similar nas were allowed, while others were banned as remnants of the polytheistic era, such as Abdul Rahman (servant of the rciful), Abdul Malik (servant of the Powerful)... and so on.

Two, DIN series

DIN ans religion. The adjective before DIN is used to describe religion.

1. Bird Aiding (aning: crescent moon of religion) 2. Bai Xiding (dignified religion) 3. Diya Aiding (light of religion) 4. Hassassin (sword of religion) 5. Imad Din (pillar of religion) 6. Iz Din (great power of religion) 7. Zamaladin (handso religion) 8. Heyerdin (beautiful religion) 9. Najis Din (star of religion) 10. Nasir Din (guardian of religion) 11. Safudin (sword of religion) 12. Magid Din (glorious religion)

Three, Prophets and Saints series

a, Prophet series

Muhammad, Ahd, Mahmud, they share the common root 'Hamude,' aning praise, acclaim. Muslims believe that the birth of the Prophet Muhammad was prophesied in the Bible era.

Mustafa is the nickna of the Prophet.

b, Saint series

Musa, Ibrahim, Ismail, Yusuf, Suleiman, Elsa...these nas are mostly transliterated from Hebrew. The corresponding Biblical nas for the nas above are Moses, Abraham, Ismael, Joseph, Solomon, Jesus. These prophets are ntioned in the Quran, and the belief in them is equivalent to the belief in Muhammad. Muslims do not doubt these prophets, and using their nas as one's own is generally considered good.

Four, historical figures

Ali, he was the son-in-law of the Prophet, the fourth Caliph, the last Caliph of the Orthodox era.

Othman, the third Caliph.

Khalid, known as the Sword of Allah, contributed greatly to the early expansion of the Arab Empire.

Hassan, the eldest son of Ali. It ans "handso."

Hussein, the second son of Ali. It ans "beautiful."

Fatima, the daughter of Muhammad, wife of Ali. Revered as a Saintess by the Shia. The Chinese Hui Muslim girls' Fatuma is Fatima.

Aisha, the young wife of Muhammad, referred to as a Saintess.
