"Double Enhancent" supports "Double Reduction"

Xiong Bingqi believes that although various governntal levels are constantly releasing favorable policies to broaden the paths to success for middle vocational students, overall, parents still view vocational education with prejudice, associating it with underperforming students. Therefore, the urgent task is to change society’s perception and positioning of vocational education, enhancing its quality and attractiveness.

He stated that middle vocational students are not actually underperforming students. The reason they are labeled as such, firstly, is due to a single evaluation system using test scores, and ranks from the middle and high school entrance exams, where students who don’t excel in language, math, and English but have other skills are naturally seen as underperforming students. Secondly, schoolteachers are unwilling to invest energy in nurturing their skills and talents as it doesn’t benefit advancent, leading students who could beco highly skilled talent to lack self-recognition, making it difficult for them to set high standards for themselves.

How can this situation be changed? Xiong Bingqi suggests that more governnt investnt is needed to ensure that skilled and academic talent have equal social status and welfare benefits, and to hasten the construction of dual-teacher systems, curricula, and internship training bases in vocational schools, ensuring vocational education offers good prospects for advancent as well as respectable employnt environnts.
