Pure white spider silk contracted toward the center of the egg-shaped object, where a giant mutated monster was about to be born.
Lin Ye contemplated every step of what ca next, carving speed and power runes onto so key parts of the flesh giant's body.
He didn't have to wait long. Eight sharp limbs tore through the egg-shaped object, and a giant spider covered with heads crawled out from within.
Before it could even take a proper look at the outside world, the fully prepared flesh giant vanished from its original position and appeared right in front of the giant spider.
The giant spider was also ready for combat, but it clearly hadn't anticipated that Lin Ye would charge straight at it without the slightest intention of slowing down.
The flesh giant crashed into the giant spider and locked it in a death grip, completely ignoring the sharp limbs stabbing deep into its body.
While the flesh giant charged toward the giant spider, Lin Ye had already slipped away from its back, so no matter how those limbs stabbed, they couldn't reach him.
What happened next was already ingrained as instinct within the flesh giant's very being, requiring no control from Lin Ye whatsoever.
This was the fundantal nature of the flesh giant's formation, its most powerful ability.
Hypervelocity Mutation.
The flesh giant lted onto the giant spider's body.
Flowing flesh surged into the giant spider's interior, triggering an irreversible mutation collapse within the giant spider itself.
This was the ultimate fate of most mutation creatures - the flesh giant simply dramatically accelerated this process.
Lin Ye stood at a distance, calmly watching the cultists whose bodies were collapsing within the flowing flesh.
Though they had beco part of the giant spider, they still retained so self-awareness, which brought them closer to their deity while also making them emit despairing wails.
Priest Kahn didn't scream. He had long contemplated his eventual end, just not expected it to arrive so quickly.
Lin Ye stared at the giant spider that kept mutating and collapsing in its struggles. The main mission was basically complete, but he still had personal business to settle.
The Spider God Cult's Divine Emissary wasn't dead yet. Like Lin Ye, its body was buried deep within the giant spider's interior, and before the mutating flesh could reach it, there was enough ti to escape to safety.
Right now it was hiding at the bottom of that pile of deteriorating flesh, waiting for an opportunity to eliminate Lin Ye.
But Lin Ye had already locked onto its position. He just wasn't in a hurry - the giant spider was still mutating, and soon enough it would co out on its own.
Lily ran up behind Lin Ye, watching the still-struggling giant spider with sadness as she said to him:
"Sophie isn't one of the Spider God Cult mbers."
"I know. The Divine Emissary parasitized her body and took control of it."
Lin Ye had figured this out early on, but the Divine Emissary was deeply connected to Sophie - if he didn't kill Sophie, he couldn't kill the Divine Emissary.
The Divine Emissary was harder to kill than Sophie.
"Can you help her then?"
Lily looked at Lin Ye with pleading eyes.
"I can give it one chance. It depends on whether it can seize that opportunity."
Lin Ye walked toward the completely collapsed giant spider and spoke to the pile of rotting flesh:
"Aren't you coming out? I don't really care either way - I just want all of you dead. You can choose your thod of death freely."
Seeing that Lin Ye had discovered its location, the Divine Emissary crawled out from the pile of rotten flesh. To prevent body mutation, it could only hide at the very edge.
Sophie looked around blankly, as if waking from a long nightmare.
"Sophie? Is that really you?"
Lily looked at Sophie's confused eyes and asked in disbelief.
"Lily? Where is this? What happened to ..."
Blurred mories gradually sharpened into focus as Sophie slowly recalled this chaotic and insane experience.
"Ah... aah... AAAH! It's still inside ... Kill quickly... please!"
Sophie clutched her head, screaming in agony as silk strands writhed beneath her snow-white skin.
"Sorry, I can't save her. I can only make her passing less painful."
Lin Ye apologized to Lily before swinging his blade toward Sophie's neck.
As Lin Ye swung his weapon, nurous silk strands shot out from within Sophie's body, stabbing toward various parts of Lin Ye's body.
"Got you."
With various rune enhancents, Lin Ye swung his left hand without warning, the sturdy thigh bone striking one specific silk strand with perfect accuracy.
The mont the silk strand was hit, all the other strands shattered into powder, including those inside Sophie's body.
Just as Lin Ye had suspected, these silk strands weren't just the Divine Emissary's main form - they were also its vital weakness.
"I knew you'd try to parasitize . Brainless fool."
After sensing Sophie's internal condition and confirming no residual silk strands remained, Lin Ye began organizing the loot.
But truthfully, there wasn't much left to organize. Both the flesh giant and giant spider had beco piles of rotten flesh, and the spiritual energy items within had been ruined by the mutating flesh.
"Such a loss. I should have fought it out properly first."
Lin Ye retrieved the remaining four small cubes from Sophie and Lily who were embracing each other. When he placed all eight small cubes into the large cube, a system notification appeared before his eyes.

There was nothing around.
"Thank you so much for everything. The ritual has ended, and we can leave now."
Bella looked enviously at the cube in Lin Ye's hand as she spoke.
"How exactly does this thing work?"
Lin Ye carefully sensed the cube, feeling like he'd been scamd.
"Can't you sense the inheritance space?"
Bella asked with confusion.
"No, I can't sense anything at all."
Lin Ye replied.
"Then I'm not sure. The holder of the Inheritance Proof should be able to sense the inheritance space... though there might be certain conditions to access the inheritance within that space. Perhaps you need to et specific requirents before you can sense the inheritance space."
Bella wasn't entirely certain - this was the first ti she'd heard of an Inheritance Proof that required eting conditions before even accessing the inheritance space.
"Alright then... Could you help get these two back ho?"
Lin Ye glanced at Lily who was crying ssily while embracing Sophie as he asked.
"Of course! You saved our lives - getting them ho is the least we can do!"
Charles chid in, with Jimmy nodding beside him.
"Are you leaving now?"
Lily stood up while holding Sophie, her eyes red and tear stains still visible on her face.
"Of course. I'm quite busy, you know. Try not to lose your friend again."
Lin Ye said with a smile.
"Thank you for teaching chess. I hope I can win against you soday."
Lily also smiled.
"Don't even think about it."
Lin Ye returned to the shelter.
