"I was planning to visit the Civilization Tower today to learn so techniques about mixed force fields, but now an unexpected situation has co up. Is there anywhere related to the deep sea? Preferably sowhere I can dig up treasure."
Although Lin Ye had picked up so techniques for establishing mixed force fields from that high-level spiritual energy user, he hadn't completely replicated the other's thod. Instead, he'd only incorporated parts of it, creating an incomplete mixed force field.
Since once such a field is established, modifying it would be extrely troubleso, Lin Ye preferred to systematically learn the technique at the Civilization Tower.
"There actually is. Do you like fishing? There's a fishing competition happening sowhere recently, and you can go in my place."
The young girl pulled out a deep blue book and placed it in front of Lin Ye.
"Fishing? It's not deep-sea fishing, but that's still fine. Are there any rules I need to watch out for?"
Lin Ye generally didn't like going near the sea, but since he'd just acquired a special ability that worked in deep waters, it would be a waste not to use it.
"I'm not too familiar with the place either. It seems like it involves venturing into so dangerous waters."
The young girl said in a sowhat uncertain tone.
"That works for ."
Lin Ye opened the deep blue book that was almost pitch black.
……………………………………
When he ca to, Lin Ye was already inside a dinosaur body. The young girl seed to have made so modifications to its appearance, making it look less like a dinosaur and more like so kind of alien creature.
Lin Ye looked around. He was standing on a white reef, with a beach nearby where so ordinary people were playing and laughing.
'Looks like just an ordinary sea.'
The ordinary people could see Lin Ye, but no one reacted to his unusual appearance.
The spiritual energy concentration in the environnt was very low. Lin Ye picked up the fishing rod by his side and casually cast the line into the sea.
The water was filled with swimming marine life, but they were all ordinary fish, nothing special.
Lin Ye quickly hooked a sea fish. After tossing it into the basket beside him, he was teleported to another area.
'So that's the kind of competition this is. I thought it was about fishing in a fixed spot…'
Lin Ye was teleported onto an island. This ti, there was no one around.
The beach was covered in massive blood-red veins, like so kind of plant roots.
Lin Ye walked to the shore and casually cast his line, hooking a large mass of seaweed-like creature.
Before the creature could attack, Lin Ye flung it into his basket.
The teleportation triggered again. This ti, Lin Ye appeared on a wooden raft. Unlike the previous two tis, there was another participant on the raft.
It was a fierce-looking burly man, nearly two ters tall even while sitting.
The burly man held an extrely long fishing rod, and beside him was a basket identical to Lin Ye's.
Seeing that the burly man had no intention of speaking, Lin Ye didn't bother initiating a conversation.
Beneath the raft was a deep blue sea, and the spiritual energy in the environnt was fairly abundant.
Lin Ye didn't rush to cast his line, because within his perception range, he couldn't detect a single marine creature.
'How is this even a competition venue? Unless I'm supposed to stuff the other participants into my basket?'
Lin Ye wasn't about to attack a stranger. He cast his line into the sea, but there was indeed nothing there.
Just as Lin Ye was thinking about what to do, the fishing companion beside him suddenly punched at his head.
"So that's how it is? Can't catch a fish, so you take out the competition and stuff them in the basket?"
Lin Ye sighed in exasperation, using his tail to yank out the other man's entire spine. He'd co to participate in a fishing competition, but this had turned into an unregulated brawl.
After tossing part of his fishing companion into the basket, Lin Ye was teleported to another area again.
This ti, he was transported onto the deck of a cruise ship. Around the deck's periter, many fishing enthusiasts were casting their lines.
Each of them had a similar basket beside them.
Lin Ye found a spot and sat down. Just as he was about to cast his line, the fishing enthusiast next to him leaned over.
"Friend, are you also a participant in the fishing competition?"
The speaker was a fat man with a mouth full of gold teeth. He smiled widely, his eyes squeezed into slits.
"No shit."
Lin Ye cast his hook into the water. The sea looked perfectly normal, but the water blocked any attempt to penetrate it with ntal energy.
"I'm a participant too, but this is my first ti in a competition. I don't really know the rules. Could you explain them to ?"
The gold-toothed man handed Lin Ye a high-level spiritual energy crystal as a fee for the explanation.
"What's there to explain? Isn't it just moving from place to place, fishing, and seeing who lasts until the end?"
Lin Ye didn't take the fee, since he was also a first-ti competitor.
"What I want to ask is, what's the benefit of lasting until the end?"
That was the real question the gold-toothed man wanted answered. He only knew the entry spot was incredibly precious, but he had no idea what made it so valuable.
"The benefit is obviously obtaining treasure from the deep sea. You ca to compete without even knowing that?"
Lin Ye replied in the tone of soone stating obvious common sense.
"Treasure from the deep sea? What's that?"
The gold-toothed man had asked others before, but this was the first ti he'd gotten an answer that actually sounded plausible.
"Have you ever been to the deep sea?"
Lin Ye was starting to get a feel for it. Though he couldn't sense what was below the surface, he could trace the prey's movents through the vibrations in his hook and line.
"No. That place is too dangerous."
The gold-toothed man had no interest in the sea or fishing, only in things that promised profit.
"I haven't either, so I don't know either."
Lin Ye tossed the hooked sea fish into his basket, and before the gold-toothed man could press further, he was teleported away.
'Too bad. I was going to make up a story about treasure.'
Lin Ye looked around. This ti, he'd been sent into a dim, sealed space. The surroundings were dead gray walls, and at the bottom was a circular gray platform just wide enough to stand on. Beneath the platform was an endless black void.
Before Lin Ye arrived, there were already three participants on the circular platform, each holding fishing rods and baskets.
"Another one's here. Heh, this should be interesting."
A young man standing across from Lin Ye said with a cheeky grin.
The other two participants were an old man and a middle-aged woman. Neither spoke, both simply staring down into the black void below.
Lin Ye probed downward with his ntal energy, only to discover that there was no black void at all. It seed to be just a cylindrical sealed space, and at the bottom of that space, there was a tal door leading to the outside.
