Instantly, Solenne’s expression changed.

"I knew it!"

Whoosh!

She vanished from her position and raced across the rooftops at blinding speed, leaving a powerful gust of wind in her wake.

She had hoped the situation would not beco worse than it already was.

Unfortunately, she had been wrong.

Terribly wrong.

Standing atop the rooftop, Thoren’s cold and indifferent expression finally faltered.

He slowly turned his head toward the source of the terrifying howl.

His eyes narrowed.

’She was right...’ he thought.

However, when he rembered the trump cards hidden within his undead legion and glanced at the endless stream of notifications filling the corner of his vision, his confidence surged once more.

A sharp killing intent flashed deep within his blue eyes. Cressida and whoever stood behind her believed they could overwhelm him.

They believed they could crush him beneath an endless tide of monsters.

They believed they could force him into despair.

They were mistaken.

Deeply mistaken.

Turning his attention back toward the battlefield below, he silently urged his undead servants to increase their slaughter.

The response was imdiate.

The undead army beca even more ruthless.

Their attacks grew more violent.

Their advance beca even more relentless.

On the streets below, both the human Awakeners and the Mantis Beastn felt the violent tremors and heard the soul shaking howl echoing across the battlefield.

Fear gripped their hearts like an iron vice.

Many had already reached their limits.

Their bodies were exhausted.

Their minds were fraying.

If not for the mysterious cloaked undead fighting alongside them, countless defenders would already have been dead.

And now another terrifying threat had appeared.

Many people could not help but glance nervously toward the town gate. The unease spreading throughout the battlefield beca almost tangible.

Unlike the others, Riven showed no visible reaction. His massive shield smashed into another Dune Scorpion while his blade severed the leg of a Bone Crushing Wyrm.

Blood splattered across his armor.

The battlefield around him had beco a sea of corpses. Yet he continued fighting without hesitation.

Now that Thoren’s undead servants were dealing with the stronger beasts, the pressure on him had decreased significantly.

As for the terrifying howl beyond the walls, he trusted his Guild Master.

Solenne had prepared for situations like this. That was precisely why they had developed countless contingency plans.

’As long as the beast isn’t above Level 38, she’ll be fine,’ he thought.

His blade flashed.

A Bone Crushing Wyrm’s head separated from its body and rolled across the blood-soaked ground.

Many guild mbers did not know Solenne’s true level.

But he did.

Solenne was a Level 37 Blade Dancer.

Just thinking about her deadly blades sent a slight shiver down his spine.

He had witnessed her fight before.

He knew exactly how terrifying she could beco once battle truly began.

’I should stop thinking about useless things,’ he thought.

Imdiately, he pushed all distractions aside and focused entirely on the battle before him.

Standing atop the town wall, Solenne’s expression was grim. Far beyond the beast tide stood two massive creatures.

Not one.

Two.

And both were powerful enough to threaten the entire town.

One was a Level 37 Greater Dune Scorpion. The other was a Level 37 Bone Crushing Wyrm.

The re sight of them made her breathing slow. However, those two creatures were not the only problem.

Dozens of Level 36 beasts charged alongside them. The sheer number alone was enough to crush most settlents.

"This is bad..." she muttered.

Her voice carried unusual gravity.

Far too bad.

She had considered many possible scenarios before the beast tide arrived. None of them looked like this. This situation exceeded her expectations.

It was as though the beast tide existed solely to erase Mantis Town from the map.

Whoosh!

Two curved crimson blades appeared within her hands.

The atmosphere around her shifted instantly.

The air grew colder.

Heavier.

Deadlier.

The aura surrounding her reeked of blood.

Death.

Carnage.

Months of endless battle radiated from her body. A dangerous smile slowly ford upon her lips.

"Let’s see which of us dies first." Her eyes sharpened.

Then she disappeared.

The town wall exploded beneath her feet. She shot across the battlefield like a crimson teor.

The fierce battle below seed completely irrelevant to her.

Everything blurred.

Everything faded.

Even nearby Level 35 beasts failed to notice her passing.

She moved too quickly.

Too silently.

Too perfectly.

Within monts, she had bypassed the main battlefield and arrived behind the advancing beast tide.

Then the massacre began.

Her target was clear.

The Level 36 beasts.

If she could eliminate them first, those defending the town wall would stand a chance against the remaining monsters.

Swiss! Swiss!

Red arcs flashed across the dark crimson dunes.

The attacks were so fast that ordinary eyes could not follow them.

Bang! Bang!

Among the hordes of Level 36 beasts, Solenne moved like a phantom.

Every step carried elegance.

Every movent possessed deadly precision.

It was like watching a perfectly rehearsed dance.

A dance designed solely for killing.

Her blades sliced through the scales of Bone Crushing Wyrms as though they were soft cloth.

The massive beasts shrieked in agony.

Heads rolled.

Limbs separated.

Blood erupted across the battlefield.

The Dune Scorpions fared no better.

Their deadly pincers crashed through empty air.

Their stingers struck only shadows.

Before they even realized what had happened, their weapons were already severed.

Their bodies followed shortly afterward. Split into two

Solenne moved with complete abandon. Reality itself seed to fade around her.

Nothing existed beyond her target.

Nothing existed beyond slaughter.

Shrieks filled the air.

Howls echoed endlessly.

Blood sprayed toward the sky.

Bone fragnts scattered across the dunes.

Once mighty scales shattered like fragile glass.

Under the watchful gaze of the three crimson moons hanging overhead, Solenne perford the deadliest dance of her life.

No pain existed.

No sorrow remained.

No anger lingered.

Only slaughter.

Pure.

Perfect.

Relentless slaughter.

For the first ti since the beast tide began, the monsters had encountered sothing just as terrifying as themselves.

Solenne was ferocious.

rciless.

Completely battle crazed.

Bang!

A massive Bone Crushing Wyrm lost its head.

The enormous head rolled across the dunes while blood erupted from the severed neck.

Before the corpse even collapsed, Solenne had already moved on.

Her next target was a towering Dune Scorpion.

The beast shrieked and swung both pincers simultaneously.

They struck nothing.

Only empty air.

Swiss!

A thin crimson line appeared across the creature’s carapace.

The scorpion froze.

For one brief mont, everything beca silent.

Then its body separated cleanly into multiple pieces.

Thud!

The remains crashed heavily onto the blood soaked dunes.

Yet Solenne was already gone.

She had beco nothing more than a crimson blur moving through the battlefield.

Everywhere she passed, beasts died.

Everywhere she appeared, blood flowed.

With the carnage continuing endlessly around her, the ancient Bleeding Desert responded.

The crimson sand shifted.

The dunes stirred.

Slowly.

Hungrily.

The desert began consuming the fallen corpses.

Blood disappeared into the sands.

Flesh vanished beneath the crimson grains.

It was as though the desert itself had awakened.

As though it were drinking every drop of blood spilled upon its surface.

Like a starving monster finally offered a feast.

And far beyond the battlefield, hidden within the shadows of the beast tide, sothing watched.

Sothing waited.

Sothing smiled.
