Bang! Bang!

"Ahhh!"

Solenne was sent flying across the battlefield as blood sprayed violently from her mouth.

Her leather chest armor had been torn almost completely apart. Only a few shredded straps still held the ruined pieces together.

Beneath the destroyed armor, nurous grievous wounds covered her body. Deep cuts stretched across her torso while blood flowed continuously from every injury.

She crashed heavily against the ground before rolling several tis through the crimson sand.

Her face had beco deathly pale and a deep wound stretched across the side of her neck. Fresh blood continued flowing from the injury without stopping.

Her situation was terrible.

No.

It was far worse than terrible.

She was barely clinging to life through sheer determination alone. Her eyes had beco bloodshot while her breathing sounded ragged and uneven.

Every nerve throughout her body scread in agony.

Her muscles begged for rest.

Her bones demanded recovery.

Her exhausted body desperately wanted her to stop fighting and collapse upon the ground.

However, Solenne understood the horrifying truth.

She did not possess that luxury.

A single second of hesitation would an death.

A single mistake would end everything.

Grinding her blood stained teeth together, she forced herself back onto her feet. Fresh pain exploded throughout her body imdiately.

Her vision blurred montarily before stabilizing again. She slowly raised her head and glared toward the two terrifying monsters standing before her.

A cruel smile appeared upon her battered face.

The Level 37 Greater Dune Scorpion looked equally ferocious despite its injuries. One of its massive pincers had been severed completely.

Dark blood poured from the wound like water rushing from a broken dam. The sand beneath it had already turned black from the amount of blood lost.

As for the Bone Crushing Wyrm, its condition was not much better. Most of its armored scales had shattered during the fierce battle.

Long gashes covered its massive body from head to tail. Chunks of flesh hung loosely from several wounds.

Despite those injuries, they were not life threatening. All were injuries that could be healed in less than a day of rest. Compared to Solenne’s condition, their wounds were insignificant.

For several silent monts, neither side moved.

The battlefield suddenly beca eerily quiet.

The human and the two beasts stared directly at one another.

It felt as though they were preparing for their final dance.

A dance drenched in blood.

A dance that would determine who lived and who died.

The beasts understood the situation.

Either they killed this human woman now or they would perish trying.

Solenne slowly inhaled through clenched teeth. She tightened her grip around the broken blade held within her left hand.

Her unbroken sword remained firmly grasped within her right hand. Carefully, she lowered her center of gravity and assud a fighting stance.

The movent alone caused fresh blood to trickle from several wounds. Even then, her fighting spirit remained unbroken.

Sensing her determination, both beasts released terrifying roars. The sounds echoed throughout the battlefield like thunder and their murderous intent exploded outward.

This ti, they intended to kill.

Or die trying.

Whoosh!

The Bone Crushing Wyrm suddenly plunged deep beneath the crimson sands.

Its enormous body disappeared at astonishing speed.

Within less than three seconds, it had completely vanished underground.

At the sa mont, the Greater Dune Scorpion charged directly toward Solenne.

Its remaining pincer opened nacingly.

Its deadly stinger swayed behind its body.

Of course, Solenne had no intention of waiting passively. She vanished from her position imdiately.

A cloud of sand exploded behind her. Appearing beside the injured side of the scorpion, she launched her attack.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Her swords unleashed a relentless barrage of strikes.

Each attack crashed violently against the creature’s armored carapace.

Bright sparks erupted everywhere.

tal and shell collided repeatedly.

The sound echoed continuously across the battlefield.

Without pausing, Solenne ducked beneath the swing pincer strike.

She rolled across the sand before slashing toward the creature’s exposed underside.

Bang!

Shriek!

The Greater Dune Scorpion scread in pain.

Its massive body trembled violently.

Imdiately afterward, the beast retaliated with its deadly stinger.

Boom!

The poisonous stinger slamd into the ground with trendous force.

Sand exploded everywhere.

A massive crater appeared instantly.

However, Solenne had already escaped. She appeared several ters away before preparing another attack. Unfortunately, the Bone Crushing Wyrm chose that exact mont to strike.

A barrage of compressed sand projectiles erupted from beneath the ground.

They rushed toward her from every direction.

"Shit!"

Solenne cursed loudly.

Her body reacted instantly.

Using astonishing agility, she twisted, spun, and deflected the incoming attacks. Every projectile possessed enough power to wound her severely.

So could potentially kill her outright.

Therefore, she could not afford a single mistake. Unfortunately, the barrage never stopped.

More projectiles erged continuously. The attack intensified with every passing second.

The pressure beca overwhelming and then her eyes widened suddenly.

A massive sand tornado rushed directly toward her position.

The enormous vortex stood over ten ters tall.

It spun wildly while devouring everything within its path.

The surrounding sands spiraled upward into the sky.

The sight alone was terrifying.

I need to escape.

I need to escape imdiately.

I cannot get trapped inside that thing.

The warning echoed repeatedly within her mind and without hesitation, Solenne retreated at a blinding speed.

Blood trailed behind her movents. Her exhausted body protested every step.

Still, survival forced her forward.

Then disaster struck.

The Greater Dune Scorpion had already arrived

Danger!

Every instinct within her body scread frantically.

The hairs across her body stood upright.

From the corner of her eye, she spotted the massive pincer rushing toward her waist.

The attack moved incredibly fast.

Far too fast.

Too close!

Despite the sudden ambush, Solenne twisted her body into an impossible position.

The deadly pincer missed her waist by the narrowest margin imaginable. For one brief mont, she thought she had escaped.

Then she saw it.

The stinger.

The monstrous stinger was already descending toward her chest. This ti, there was nowhere left to dodge.

No room remained for escape.

No miracle movent could save her.

Her exhausted body had finally reached its limit.

I guess this is the end. The thought surfaced quietly within her mind.

Ti seed to slow dramatically.

The battlefield faded into the background.

The roars vanished completely.

The pain disappeared.

Only she and the descending stinger remained.

The deadly weapon continued falling toward her heart.

Slowly.

Inevitably.

Unwillingly, Solenne closed her eyes.

She prepared herself for death.

The end had finally arrived.

Just then, a deafening explosion erupted across the battlefield.

Boom!
