Now reading: Chapter 155 - 155 102 Mad Dog from Goblin Dependency, a Adventure novel by Floc theory.

155: Chapter 102 Mad Dog 155: Chapter 102 Mad Dog It was the height of sumr, and the chilling wind that suddenly rushed in from outside made the patrons of the tavern shiver involuntarily.

And when they turned their astonished gazes to the burly figure standing at the tavern door.

They instinctively averted their eyes, dared not to make eye contact because of the ominous aura he exuded.

The remains of the midsumr festival’s warmth, the noisy and boiling atmosphere, suddenly froze over.

Only the adventurers’ deliberately calm whispers remained.

In the very center of the tavern’s hall, those who were still shoving each other just monts ago seed frozen by the cold wind, their bodies abruptly pausing.

All vile and filthy language ceased imdiately, as if they had communicated silently, without any unnecessary actions or bitter curses left.

Even though the red-bearded dwarf’s most cherished beard braid had a small segnt cut off during the fight; and the leading Kalinshan person had a new black and blue fist mark above his eye socket.

They rely separated their entangled limbs with a tacit understanding and silently returned to their tables.

“Thud.”

A steady and forceful footstep sounded from the tavern entrance, gradually becoming clearer.

Chapton looked at the barbarian draped in a wolf fur cloak in front of him, his face maintaining a stiff smile of hospitality.

“Guest, what would you like to eat?”

“Two pieces of raw at.”

The thick northern accent made his voice sound as if it ca from a snowstorm, indistinct and blurred.

With ice-blue eyes glancing at the dark-haired young man not far beside, he replied.

“Alright, guest, please wait a mont.”

Chapton hurried his steps, jogging towards the kitchen.

Clatter—

The sound of tables and chairs being moved.

Backlit, the shadow cast by the burly body encompassed the table’s surface.

Xia Nan gazed at Frogon across the table, his inner anxiety of the past few days dissipating into nothing along with the sudden drop in temperature surrounding him.

The bronze skin, muscular and like marble, bore no obvious scars; beneath the brow ridge, the deep eyes, akin to frozen lakes, remained calm and glinted with a lively light within their depths.

Except for the severed little finger on the left hand, with its bare wound covered by a transparent layer of ice crystal.

There seed to be no other injuries.

A thin iron necklace with bone tooth adornnt still hung around the neck.

Yet, the very center of the iron chain remained empty.

In his heart, he mused how the barbarian had caused such a commotion in the neighboring town, yet could return so openly to River Valley Town as he did now.

The relationship with the adventurer association should not be hostile.

Xia Nan opened his mouth, about to say sothing, when suddenly the barbarian before him spoke:

“Have you learned it?”

He paused for a mont before reacting.

Frogon had rely glanced at him, yet realized Xia Nan had already grasped the Beginner level of [Teeth Hunting].

Confused about how the other had figured it out, Xia Nan nodded in response:

“I happened to encounter a troubleso demon on the way back.”

The surrounding air turned frigid for a mont, akin to a beast on the icy plains catching the scent of blood, faintly shimring ice crystals swiftly condensed in the air.

They seed to drift consciously, swirling twice around the beheading longsword behind Xia Nan.

Then they returned to the space above the table, forming a palm-sized, fierce demon pattern with a broken single wing.

It vanished in the blink of an eye.

“That Thorn Demon?” The barbarian’s thick arm lay on the tavern table, the silver-white fur of his cloak swaying gently, “You’ve had quite the luck.”

Amazed at how the other had reconstructed using frost the adversary Xia Nan had fought two days ago, simply from the faint residue of his aura.

Hearing Frogon say this, Xia Nan also felt a sense of fortune.

Not knowing whether it was the Destiny Coin kept close to his chest taking effect, or he had attracted the attention of the goddess of fortune, [Taimola], in so mysterious way.

Just short of mastering the battle skill, his training schedule had been interrupted by the sudden arrival of fungi.

He thought it would be another delay, yet on the escape, he coincidentally encountered a severely injured Thorn Demon.

Perhaps because, on his way back to the city, he had been driven off by the barbarian’s presence once, and the cold aura infused for battle skill training had attracted the demon’s attention;

Or perhaps those deeply invading dark purple spores had affected its mind.

Facing the aftermath of a transcendent battle behind him, the Thorn Demon did not flee but instead clung stubbornly to Xia Nan, forcibly dragging him into a fight.

Furthermore, due to its already grave injuries, even though its normal state had a challenge level as high as “2,” having lost its most vital flying ability, its stamina seed to be rapidly declining under the invasion of the spores.
