Now reading: Chapter 231 - 128: Blood Sacrifice3 from Goblin Dependency, a Adventure novel by Floc theory.

Clearly knows sothing about the "Hunting Day" and "Association" inner workings.

Yet seems to be worried about sothing.

Opened his mouth but said nothing.

After a long ti, he gripped the wooden magic wand in his hand, tapped it on the ground, and replied:

"It’s quite troubleso."

"Let’s talk after the task is completed."

...

...

anwhile.

In the depths of the Mist Forest, in a certain goblin nest.

Silence.

Unusually quiet.

Unlike the adventurers’ impression, filled with feces and mud, packed with bones and broken debris of a goblin lair.

This cave is exceptionally clean and organized.

No groups of Green-skinned Goblins crowding noisily inside, nor any stench of decaying prey corpses.

The torches placed thodically between the stone walls illuminate the entire cave.

The densely distributed passages, and the open, plaza-like internal area seem to blend the characteristics of "Earth Goblins" and "Bear Goblins" nests.

Like a giant... anthill!

The cave is empty, save for the two figures standing silently in the center.

With fingers as dry as corpses and covered in disgusting wrinkles reaching out from wide sleeves, the hunched figure like a lurking worm in shadows;

The entire body draped in a pitch-black robe, only the taller-than-average goblin figure and the occasionally exposed furry face beneath the hood.

Revealing its identity as a Bear Goblin.

"Still lacking a bit... (in goblin language)"

Unclear how long it has lived, even its voice seems eroded by ti, an aged voice softly echoing from beneath the black robe.

It slowly stepped forward two steps, on the altar carved from pale unknown stone before it, engraved with a complex and dizzying strange talisman array.

The array itself has no color, rely carved on the stone surface.

But as the Black Robe Bear Goblin approached, a blood-like scarlet flowed forth from the void, spreading along the array pattern.

As if in the next second, this red would fill the entire talisman array.

Allowing a tallic luster-reflecting, incredibly smooth elliptical shadow to faintly appear above the array pattern.

Yet just when the blood light is about to flood into the array core, solidifying the elliptical shadow.

It abruptly ca to a halt as if suddenly drained of power.

Only a little is lacking.

"Ding."

The blackened nails lightly tapped the stone surface, a crisp sound echoed like a cold wind in the cave.

Behind, a body far stronger than the average Bear Goblin, half-kneeling on the ground, dared not lift its head, with a coarse and low voice tinged with fear and trepidation:

"This year, the number of adventurers is much less than before, and they..."

The voice grew quieter and almost faded to nothing in the end.

Clearly, it knew these are re excuses for not completing the task.

The air fell into a dead silence once more.

The Black Robe Goblin did not turn back.

The murky eyes under the hooded shadow stare at the blood-covered altar, at the almost solidified yet still lacking elliptical shadow.

"The Seed Tide Period is ending, the master’s grace must not be desecrated."

"Death and life..."

"Pleasing, or punishing."

As the word "punish" was barely uttered, the massively built Bear Goblin half-kneeling behind it shuddered twice in an involuntary response.

Clearly has tasted its essence before.

"I will go out, beyond the forest."

It hurriedly promised.

"Sa as last ti."

"If adventurers are scarce... use the blood of their kin to make up for the sacrificial deficit."

There was no reply.

The goblin in the black robe, its figure hunched, rely turned its back on it, gazing silently at the altar before it.

And the Bear Goblin remained bowing its head, not daring to look up.

"Failure... you know what consequences follow."

The aged voice softly reverberated between the stone walls.

The Bear Goblin clearly let out a sigh of relief at this.

Slowly stood up, turned around, and headed towards the nest’s exit.

The heavy and dull footsteps like so form of horn call.

From the shadow-cloaked deep corridors on both sides of the stone wall, erged quiet yet maniacally excited Green-skinned Goblins.

They crowded behind.

It wasn’t until the Bear Goblin turned to leave, that its back, covered with thick fat and fur, stood in stark contrast under the torchlight against the stone wall, clearly visible in the air.

Revealing that the pale bone stick, with its surface pitted with holes, emitted sharp cries akin to an infant’s wail when moved;

And the significantly noticeable patch of russet-red mane on its back.
