Chapter 564: Chapter 285: Adeline, Abi, and Sulfur_3

Neither the teachings of his parents at ho nor the obsessive yet responsible captain of his team would let him do this.

But right now…

He hadn’t sent money ho for three months.

A few days ago, his parents had sent a letter through his literate uncle, worried if he had encountered any danger, and included a lot of the savings he’d previously sent them.

This made Abi resolute: once this mission was over, he would send the money ho first, and then spend on himself.

The process was quite smooth. Thanks to their forr teammate, the famous “Gray Sword” in town, their team received the mission reward without even having to kill a single goblin.

As an old acquaintance of “Gray Sword” in the team, he received almost half of the mission reward.

Abi really wanted to send the money back ho because he clearly knew how much these Gold Coins could improve the lives of his parents and two younger sisters.

But on the way back to the inn… he ultimately couldn’t resist.

By the ti he ca to his senses again, the Gold Coins that should have been stuffed into an envelope had turned into chips on the card table.

“Damn it.” Feeling increasingly vexed, Abi cursed quietly.

Sotis he often thought, if only he could beco a professional like “Green Blood” or “Gray Sword”.

Then he could easily earn dozens or even hundreds of Gold Coins from each Professional Level mission.

Even if he sent half back, he could still keep a few dozen Gold Coins for himself, enough to drink himself into oblivion at a tavern and indulge all night at a casino.

Perhaps he once had a chance too if he had followed behind “boss” Adeline. Given their personality, they surely would have taken care of him even if they beca a professional.

Forget it, thinking so much now is pointless.

That country lad in the team should be sending his reward ho tomorrow morning. Maybe he could ask to “borrow” a few Gold Coins when he gets back if…

Suddenly, a violent stomach ache interrupted Abi’s thoughts.

Instinctively bending over and clutching his stomach, his face twisted in pain:

“Damn it, it must have been those skewers I ate at the roadside this afternoon!”

“No wonder they tasted sour, that hellbound vendor lied about it being beef, just let , hiss…”

The casino was too far from the inn where he was staying, and the place was crowded, so it would take several minutes to reach the bathroom.

Abi glanced around the street, seeing a quiet alley nearby, bent over while clutching his stomach, and hurried over.

Before he even got close, a few burly half orcs with their faces covered by black cloth erged from the alley, passing him by. They reeked of blood.

All adventurers, without conditions to bathe in the wild, were not too fussy. Returning with the sll of blood and even with bits of flesh and viscera on them wasn’t uncommon, overwheld by the pain in his stomach, Abi didn’t pay much attention.

He rushed into the alley, found a corner, and dropped his pants to relieve himself.

It wasn’t until a dozen minutes later, after completely relieving himself, that he started getting up with cold sweat, leaning against the wall:

“Damn, what kind of at was that, such a strong effect.”

“Hope it wasn’t goblin at…”

With the intense pain dissipated, rationality returned to his mind.

Then, he caught a strong scent of blood from deep within the alley.

He paused, recalling the half orcs he t earlier on the road.

His throat moved as he swallowed a mouthful of saliva.

Gathering his courage, he cautiously moved over step by step.

At the end of the alley, two small, stout corpses ca into view.

Covered in knife wounds, blood pooled around them, clearly dead as can be.

Abi recognized these dwarves. During the day, when he returned to River Valley Town with the team, they had been performing by the roadside, seemingly street perforrs from sowhere unknown.

Back then, he’d even complained to the captain because their singing was terrible, not expecting this now…

In the pitch-black night, his gaze flickered.

Abi suddenly turned to look around, seeing the alley was silent, then bent down, not caring, and moved closer.

His fingertips felt the thick, warm stickiness of blood as he searched the bodies with his hands.

Suddenly, as if feeling sothing, his face showed a hint of surprise.

“These half orcs, they killed without even looting? Lucky for .”

Just as he thought of stuffing the dwarf’s money pouch into his own pocket.

Suddenly, a strange burnt sulfur sll rushed with his breath straight up to his skull.

His face froze, not even realizing what was happening, as a hoarse magnetic deep male voice, seemingly filled with an indescribable Charm, echoed in his mind:

“Boy, co over, co a little closer…”
