Need to use words to probe slightly.
"Boss Adeline?" Hearing this, Abi scratched his head in confusion, "Didn’t I leave the ’Green Blood’ team a long ti ago? Did you forget?"
Hearing his response, Xia Nan felt slightly relieved, at least confirming that this was the real Abi.
He didn’t reply, just continued to ask:
"This is already the core area of the forest, right? How did you get here?"
At the sa ti, he stared intently at Abi in front of him, carefully observing the expression on his face.
With his outstanding perception ability, Xia Nan could clearly see, at the mont his words fell, Abi’s face stiffened for an instant, his eyes subconsciously rolled around, as if organizing words in his mind, then explained in a surprised tone as if eting an old friend in distress:
"What, this is already the core area?"
"I, I didn’t know, Mr. Xia Nan."
"A few days ago, I was still clearing goblins on the outskirts of the forest, originally thinking of going into their nest to see if there were any spoils, but accidentally found a tunnel leading deeper inside."
"I thought it was a storage area or sothing, went in to take a look, and then..."
"Got lost."
"Luckily, I had prepared a lot of supplies in advance, and didn’t encounter any demons on the way, barely holding on until I t you today."
Yes, initially, he spoke sowhat stamringly, but the more he spoke, the smoother it got. Judging by his expression, it was probably half true and half false.
Xia Nan secretly speculated, his gaze carefully examining the other person, and then asked:
"What about your companions? Surely you didn’t co alone, did you?"
"Uh... there were more goblins than expected, our team’s losses were quite big, so I thought of searching the nest for more spoils to bring back."
"So you’ve been alone these days?"
"Yes, Mr. Xia Nan."
Naturally, it was impossible to believe.
No matter how reasonable the explanation was, under the current circumstances, Xia Nan could not lower his guard.
Not to ntion the many flaws in his answers.
He could clearly see the bloodstains and scorch marks on Abi’s armor, trousers, and even boots, yet Abi himself was unscathed, just looking very exhausted.
Evidently, regarding the encounters along the way, he was hiding sothing from Xia Nan.
And now, at the goblin nest located deep underground in the core area of the Mist Forest, an adventurer suddenly appeared alone from a side corridor.
Not to ntion Abi, even if it were Adeline or Wood standing before him, he would have to scrutinize them carefully.
However, Xia Nan did not pursue the flaws in Abi’s story further nor did he waste any more words.
Instead, he clearly stated his purpose and the plan ahead.
"I plan to gather so materials from this demon and then leave here."
"If you want to accompany back to River Valley Town, you can, but we need to agree on so details."
"If you have other matters and plan to stay, that’s your decision and has nothing to do with ."
"In twenty minutes, I will be leaving."
Alright!
Saloyan secretly let out a long sigh of relief.
Leave, quickly leave!
Abi was not foolish. Hearing Xia Nan say that, he naturally knew that the other was suspicious of him.
He didn’t explain further, just nodded emphatically, stepped back two steps, indicating for Xia Nan to proceed.
Both parties had very clear objectives, and since their goals were different, they were wary of each other.
If the situation continued to develop like this, it might actually resolve itself.
Xia Nan would leave the nest with the spoils of war materials, while Abi and Saloyan would remain there to examine the remnants of goblin technology items.
However, for adventurers, many tis the actual situation and what is anticipated in their hearts often differ significantly.
Xia Nan hadn’t even had ti to dig out the eye of the Shrimp Dragon Monster from its skull.
Before another round of even denser and urgent footsteps echoed from the cave within the rock walls.
