Capítulo 648: Chapter 326: Fog Lamp Village, Forbidden Land

Xia Nan could no longer rember how he developed this addiction.

Perhaps it was at the beginning of his journey, when those green-skinned goblins ambushed the Stinky Fish and Shrimp Group; or maybe it was the imnse pressure from the adventurer career and unfamiliar environnt, compelling him to relieve stress through addictive behaviors.

But no matter what, he had now developed an almost pathological dependency on goblins.

And he genuinely enjoyed the process from the bottom of his heart.

The exquisite sound of a gray-black straight sword piercing through the body, the sensation of flesh and bone being cut open, the thud of an arm shield shattering skulls, the gory satisfaction of warping and crushing the features of those malford, ugly creatures, akin to a water-filled balloon bursting, the light-hearted pleasure of tearing apart the lean and fragile flesh with bare hands like paper, scattering innards and blood and bone all over the ground…

In battles, Xia Nan was always swift and decisive, but when facing these “lovely” little creatures that sohow sparked his fancy, he displayed a variety of torturous thods.

Even the combat ti was furtively extended, just to please himself as much as possible.

Boom——

Thunder roared across the sky.

The rain fell like a curtain, and the leaden gray daylight filtered through the interlaced branches, dimly sprinkling down.

The overwhelmingly rich stench of blood, mixed with the earthy sll rising with the rainwater, filled the air.

Blood and rain mingled and dripped down the surface of the black-gray mysterious straight sword.

Xia Nan stood quietly in place, his face upturned, with his leg guards, chain armor, and even the side of his cheek stained with obvious traces of blood.

The ground around him was a grueso tapestry of severed limbs, organs, and flesh and bone.

The expression on his face was one of contentnt after enjoynt.

Amidst the sparse sound of rain, one could still faintly hear the sharp screams of goblins once echoing through the air.

Of the nearly thirty green-skinned goblins that once swooped around this place, only one remained.

At this mont, it was trembling like a quail, curling its body amidst the corpses of its kind, shrouded by the tall shadow from the front, not even daring to lift its head.

Such brutal and cold-blooded ans of massacre, coupled with the suffocating pressure from the overwhelming disparity in power, had completely shattered this poor goblin’s courage to resist, bringing its psychological defenses to a complete collapse.

It utilized the remnants of its feeble intellect to clutch its head, facing the ground in self-deception, hoping the formidable creature before it would ignore its presence.

“H-Hello…”

At the edge of the battlefield, Dong Shu, who was also trembling due to the horrifying sight, ignored the dissuading look from Aspen beside him.

Summoning his courage, he took two steps forward, adopting an extrely cautious, respectful posture for fear of provoking any trouble, and lowered his voice:

“Th-thank you for your assistance, may I ask…”

Before he could finish his words of gratitude, he sensed a turn of attention, and the deep, eerie cold black eyes made him instinctively close his mouth again.

Xia Nan’s gaze swept over the two dressed as Hunters, pausing slightly on the wound of the middle-aged man leaning against a tree trunk with an injured leg.

Without much explanation, he simply opened his mouth:

“Wait a mont.”

With that, he turned his head, looking down at the last trembling, pretending-to-be-dead goblin.

He did not end its life like the twenty or so companions before it.

Xia Nan gently lifted his leg, and his mud-and-blood stained boot kicked the scrawny side belly of the goblin.

“Squeeak!”

As if electrocuted, the goblin, curled up in the pile of corpses, jumped up reflexively, its small, lean body tensed upright.

Without caring about the tall figure watching it, it scread and dashed straight into the dense forest.

Standing nearly 1.9 ters tall, his two long strides were naturally much faster than the goblin’s twig-like short legs.

And with acute perception ability, even if the goblin got a few minutes’ head start, he could still easily track the traces left by its frantic escape.

A playful smile of success flashed in Xia Nan’s eyes, and with a casual swing of his straight sword, he leisurely followed up.

At the edge of the field behind him, the two Hunters who had narrowly escaped the goblin’s siege looked hesitant.

Perhaps the scene of flesh and remains on the field was too glaring, and even the falling rain felt unusually cold.

The younger one, seeing Xia Nan’s figure disappear into the forest, imdiately wanted to flee in the opposite direction, but was forcibly held back by the older one, who hastily mumbled sothing.

Only then did they struggle to get up, and with the younger Hunter’s support, they shakily and cautiously followed along.

Xia Nan knew he had never had bad luck in this regard.

He had thought this sudden downpour would completely wash away any traces left by goblin activities nearby, forcing him to temporarily abandon the search for the goblin nest that served as the target for the Association’s clearing mission.

But unexpectedly, the two unlucky Hunters had encountered a hunting party from this goblin clan.

Considering the gathering effect of the goblin nest area, the large goblin group that could be ford in the surrounding area was most likely his mission target.

So after the slaughter, he specially left one alive.

By giving it a fright, the green-skinned goblin, terrified and fleeing frantically, would instinctively return to what it subconsciously deed the safest nest.

Without needing to deliberately cover any movents, by simply following along, Xia Nan’s target appeared right in front of him.

“Squeeak…”

A piercing wail eerily echoed from the seemingly bottomless deep cave ahead.
