Capítulo 730: Chapter 365: Surprise Attack! Battle!
The light do towering like an iron wall on the edge of the Orange Garden left Xia Nan and his companions helpless.
He could feel the strength of this wall made of pure energy.
From a purely physical standpoint, with their current attack capabilities, they could not break through.
Perhaps the Force Field Energy of [Gravity Etching] might be of so use, but compared to the massive light do enveloping the entire town, using [Gravity Etching] with a Level 3 Combat Skill Level and only two remaining uses, trying to create a breach was undoubtedly a pipe dream.
Considering the special ability of [Dream Weaving Corridor] to absorb pink Jadestone Energy, Xia Nan, after confirming safety, also tried touching the light do with his ringed right hand.
Curiously, although [Dream Weaving Corridor] emitted the sa sound it did while absorbing energy before, the silver ring on his index finger slightly trembled.
However, no chanical sound indicating the charge progress echoed in Xia Nan’s mind.
His feeling was as if the energy density of the light do was too low, compared to the pink Jadestone, akin to mist drifting in the air versus ripples in clear water in a bowl.
Impossible to absorb.
“Damn it!”
Soldin gripped his Edged Hamr, venting frustration by striking the light do.
As his chest braid swayed, the decorations on it collided, producing a sharp sound.
“What the hell is this thing?”
“Clearly just an ordinary escort mission, so why did such a bizarre thing happen?”
The murmurs reached Xia Nan’s ears, though his expression remained unchanged, as if he hadn’t heard, rely surveying the pink light wall ahead.
Margaret offered so comforting words, slightly easing Soldin’s mood.
Actually, the Dwarf didn’t an to complain much; as a seasoned Senior Adventurer, encountering unexpected situations during missions was normal.
Now forced to be trapped in Sheep Horn Town, they were not exactly in a life-threatening predicant.
Perhaps due to his personality, he vented a bit verbally, yet internally his mindset was quite calm.
No one needed to persuade him much; once he confird they couldn’t break through the light do with their strength, Soldin took up his Round Shield again, positioning himself at the front of the team.
“So, what’s our next plan?”
Upon hearing this, Margaret glanced at Xia Nan, finding him not inclined to speak, then took the initiative to analyze:
“With this light wall blocking here, we’re likely not getting out of Sheep Horn Town soon.”
“But simply giving up would hand all control over to the mysterious enemy hiding in the shadows, putting us in an overly passive situation… which isn’t good.”
“Moreover, with such a grand setup, who knows if they’re conducting so special ceremony. If it’s a ‘sacrifice’ type, letting them proceed might lead to us being offered as sacrifices at so point.”
“We have to take the initiative!”
“At least… we need to figure out who’s lurking behind all this.”
…
For Xia Nan and his group, after the failure of the first two plans—though the townsfolk they found managed to break free from the Jade Charm’s control, they could not effectively communicate due to the deep influence, and the light wall enveloping Sheep Horn Town couldn’t be broken through with their current power.
Aside from passively waiting in place, hoping the light do might disperse on its own, or waiting for the reinforcents arriving who knows when, the only remaining plan was to head to the town center, where the light column linking heaven and earth rose.
It’s foreseeable they’ll likely gain sothing there.
Yet, likewise, the danger level was expected to spike.
Nonetheless, none from the team voiced any objections.
Admittedly, even though no one said it, when they exited the tavern and gazed up at the sky, witnessing the beam brighter than the moon.
Each had silently prepared their hearts.
All the way was smooth.
From the Orange Garden on the town’s edge back to the main street, they encountered no danger.
The previously sowhat crowded streets were now unusually spacious with no one around, standing at one end, allowing a clear view to the far corner.
The townsfolk inside the houses along the street showed no signs of appearing, it seed all had lost their senses under the pink Jadestone’s control, like the few they pulled from hos earlier.
It’s noteworthy that for safety, the trio returned to Sheep’s Wool Rusty Nail Tavern midway.
Horak, A fu, and the rchant caravan mbers were solemn and tense, but fortunately, they hadn’t been attacked, and the high-pressure collective atmosphere sowhat cald so originally panicked caravan mbers, who gradually settled, assisting in transporting goods or building defenses under the leaders’ guidance.
Sadly, the townsfolk freed from the Jade Charm’s influence with Xia Nan’s help still couldn’t resu normal communication, tied up and cowering in a corner.
After briefly discussing so follow-up plans with Horak and others, the group proceeded, soon arriving at the street where Horak argued with the Blacksmith.
“I recall Horak ntioning during his argunt with the Blacksmith that the adventurers who sold him the pink Jadestone seed to have obtained the item through the Blacksmith’s channel?”
