"Ai Li... my little Ai Li..."
Baron Farrow knelt on one knee, holding the young girl tightly in his arms, his voice choking and almost falling apart.
His eyes red and his face incredibly haggard, showing uncontrolled emotional tremors.

After all, the kidnapping of the Baron’s daughter hadn’t even lasted twenty-four hours, so why was Baron Farrow’s reaction so intense?
But then again, whether in this life or the previous, he had never been a father and found it hard to empathize. Considering the chaotic environnt of Suo Yu Bay, it was possible that Baron Farrow had prepared for the worst when he discovered his daughter’s disappearance, so such a reaction upon Ai Li’s safe return was understandable.

In response, Ai Li offered a bright and cheerful smile back, whereas the guards from the Governor Mansion on both sides of the room noticed their breathing slightly disturbed, their expressions subtly shifting.
After all... this Baron’s daughter was rescued from the storage room of a shack and only ca to her senses in the carriage back to the Baron Mansion;
While these guards from the Governor Mansion had witnessed firsthand the piles of corpses of the Corner Shark Gang mbers in that shack, seen the unrecognizable shredded flesh full of scars, and even the human heads with remnants of expressions of Fear, shaved clean.
Despite knowing they were all mbers of a malicious gang, they couldn’t help but tremble internally facing the extrely brutal scene caused by Xia Nan, rembering his sharply defined face as that of a dangerous individual who needed to be watched closely.
After returning Ai Li to her father, Xia Nan and his group didn’t stay long at the Baron Mansion, thinking it best to leave the ti to the reunited father and daughter after their ordeal.
