Xia Nan did not hide his gaze.
Although after the battle he wasn’t in a hurry to clean up the battlefield, his main focus was on tending to the injured.
Yet he couldn’t deny that the small briefcase, suspected to be the core of the Secret Realm, lying quietly on the altar surgery room’s sofa, intrigued him greatly.
Having sowhat recovered from the side effects of using his Battle Skill excessively, Lorin leaned her back against a broken wall filled with Exotic Realm style, sitting on the ground and panting sowhat heavily.
Beside her, Druid Hai Yin was carefully bandaging the wound on the captain’s right arm from the battle.
Lorin’s gaze was equally complex.
To so extent, her surprise at Xia Nan’s performance in the battle earlier was even stronger than Hai Yin’s.
After all, when the mission first started, her impression of this black-haired young man was rely that of soone who had joined the fleet as a temporary mber through a tavern-owner acquaintance, hoping to attend the Moon Tide Banquet.
Unexpectedly...
Lorin looked at Xia Nan, blinked, and suddenly spoke:
"You don’t have to worry about us. You can look around the field for anything that interests you first."
She naturally noticed Xia Nan’s gaze.
As an experienced adventurer who had sailed for many years, how could Lorin possibly overlook the tall altar made of strange buildings at the center of the field?
The adventurer’s instinct allowed her to vaguely sense that if there were special spoils beyond the Fishman’s equipnt and Shark Beast materials, they would probably be on this altar.
The reason Lorin suddenly spoke these words to Xia Nan was almost a direct indication that he could claim whatever loot might be on the altar for himself.
The Vengeance Blade Squad had maintained a relatively stable team dynamic over many years of adventuring in the Southern Islands, primarily due to the fair distribution of loot and mission rewards being of utmost importance.
As captain, Lorin had her own pursuits and her desire for Gold Coins wasn’t as strong as ordinary adventurers, often being willing to allocate a significant portion of her inco to ordinary crew mbers, maintaining high prestige within the team.
During the distribution of loot, they would largely consider the contributions made by team mbers during the mission, striving to be as fair and just as possible.
Currently, the Vengeance Blade Squad suffered significant losses in the battle against the Shark Beast, with most of their core mbers being severely injured.
But considering individual contributions during the battle, Xia Nan was undoubtedly the most outstanding.
If one were to carefully examine, his re use of highly mobile displacent Battle Skills to save teammates had occurred more than once in normal combat.
In the final monts, he erupted with unexpected heroism, completely slaying the extrely formidable deford Shark Beast.
To put it bluntly, if Xia Nan hadn’t joined this mission, their small group would never have survived this long.
The Shark Beast’s first assault would have been enough to decimate most of the Vengeance Blade Squad, with a total party wipe only a matter of ti.
Right now, the fact that a few of them, including Lorin herself, could breathe fresh air while lying here was largely thanks to Xia Nan.
With this as the premise, Xia Nan naturally deserved the highest priority in terms of loot distribution.
On this point, not only Lorin as the team leader but also the other mbers had no objections.
Hearing Lorin’s words, Xia Nan of course understood her aning.
He didn’t hesitate; after all, he was indeed very interested in the briefcase on the altar.
After doing a final check of the surrounding area to ensure no danger was present,
he nodded slightly to Lorin and the others, then turned around, heading towards the direction of the altar.
This tall altar constructed from sea rocks and fish bones was slick and uneven on its surface, making it easy for an ordinary person to fall while climbing.
But with the adventurer’s physical attributes and the balance boost from [Tidal Shaping], Xia Nan walked as if on flat ground.
A few steps upward and he reached the top, coming directly to the surgery room partially integrated with a bizarre posture.
His gaze swept carefully across the room, confirming there was nothing else worth noting.
Xia Nan’s eyes focused on the leather sofa, on the well-worn briefcase there, preparing himself ntally.
Based on previous Secret Realm experiences, he anticipated several possibilities.
1. Traversing into the pocket space of the Secret Realm itself, similar to when he obtained the Wooden Sword [Green Pine] and the Gilded Dew Drops from the Giant Serpent Cavern;
2. Entering the world of the Secret Realm’s origin as a first-person observer, experiencing a short story scenario related to it, akin to acquiring the [Embers Resonance] and [Ash Fall] materials from the Grey Valley Ruins;
3. Nothing happening at all.
Taking a deep breath,
Xia Nan stepped forward slowly, slightly bending towards the briefcase, reaching out with both hands.
And just as his fingertips touched the leather surface of the case, the surrounding space-ti suddenly froze.
The towering rock walls on both sides dissipated into nothingness under the sunlight, while the weeds and shrubs inside the canyon quietly faded away.
In stark contrast, those broken Exotic Realm buildings were rapidly restored, similar to the replaying of a video.
Broken beams extended and grew, the collapsed do floated upwards, brick and tile debris scattered on the ground rose into the air, fitting seamlessly back into their original positions;
