Cain paused for a second. Then he asked in a low voice,
"Well do you know who this person might be?"
Asteron answered, "According to what I know, the culprit is a human female. Those who managed to escape as well as those who watched the carnage she wrought say she has long white hair like a ghost. Her skin is pale like death, but her eyes are the color of blood."
Cain felt a headache coming.
His shadow lightly trembled.
Cain sighed then frowned,
"So what, there is soone looking for trouble? How does that make any sense. I believe all those who survived the trial have blood on their hands. I can't be reasonable for one person to take bla for what happened in there while everyone else goes free, would it?"
Avalon nodded, "I am of the sa opinion. But most don't see it that way."
Asteron added, "They need soone to take so bla to alleviate their guilt."
Then he hesitated for a bit,
"Then again, your acquaintance did take a lot of lives. One might say it was an unreasonable amount."
Cain narrowed his eyes and folded his arms,
"And so, you've co to tell all this why?"
Asteron sat on the ground. This way, he was able to look Cain right in the eye,
"Well, we do not know the layout of the second trial. It might be the sa with the first, or it could be different. There is a very big chance that if it is not the sa, your team will be targeted."
Cain was about to say sothing, but he was cut short by Asteron,
"Don't think you can handle it. You can't. I completely acknowledge your strength. But those who want to spill your blood, if they all co for , even I will be forced to rethink my decisions."
Cain went silent.
As much as he wanted to disagree, he couldn't.
He looked around. Sure enough, there were a few hostile stares being thrown their way. Cain wasn't bothered about those. Rather, he was bothered by those he couldn't sense, but could still feel.
He knew he was being watched, but didn't know what was responsible.
These creatures, were at the very top of the food chain here. Being targeted by things like that would not an a good ti whatsoever.
Cain says ghed tiredly,
"Then, what do you expect to do with such information? I don't see any way getting out of this."
Asteron nodded, "Quite frankly, I agree. However, I am willing to extend an olive branch."
He paused for a mont then continued,
"My Dragonkin Clan in the Realm of Gods is a well known and respected one. Even if there are people dissatisfied, as long as they know I have taken you under my claws, they will back off and give a bit of face."
Avalon frowned, "The only problem is those from the Godless Realm you have offended. We can't do anything about those."
His eyes narrowed,
"And quite frankly, I don't know if it would be worth it. Even we can't guarantee our lives if we battle against those evil fiends. If we are truly forced to go directly against them, then it has to be for sothing worthwhile."
Cain chuckled.
The {Cynogryph} was telling him, in no uncertain terms, that he had to prove his worth it he wanted their protection.
Cain paused to think.
The reason they had managed to go far in the first trial, besides their individual strengths, was the fact that their enemies were uncoordinated. Should that stop being the case, things would get ugly very quickly.
Asteron's suggestion was not a bad one, but sothing told him it wasn't that simple. So, he decided to hold back on making any final decisions.
"I'll have to consider it with the rest of my team. For now, let's address the second issue. What rumor is there about ?"
This was what bothered him the most.
Greed montarily flashed in the eyes of the {Wind Drake}, but it was gone a mont later, leading Cain to believe he was seeing things.
Asteron cleared his throat,
"Well, this isn't as bad. Apparently, there were so individuals that managed to catch a glimpse of one of your battles. That story has spread quickly."
Cain raised a brow and frowned,
"Which one?"
Asteron furrowed his brows,
"According to the rumor, you used an ability that caused all skill, spells, and abilities that made use of mana within a wide area to break down and collapse."
Cain was even more confused, "You an my sealing spell?"
Asteron nodded vigorously. Avalon who pretended as though he wasn't that interested threw a glance and his ear twitched.
'Are they interested in the skill?'
"An ability that has such a wide scale with such utility. I will be honest with you. I still don't believe it." The {Wind Drake} said with narrowed, but eager eyes.
Cain scratched his head,
"Well, it is not a skill I like using all the ti. It can be... chaotic."
As it was a skill that couldn't differentiate friend from foe, Cain preferred not to make use of it frequently. Still, he could not deny that it was one of the most terrifying skills in his possession.

"Then, that ans the rumors are true."
He turned to Avalon who had a contemplative look on his face,
"What do you think?"
Avalon paused, then snorted,
"I can't deny that it is incredible."
He stared at Cain, a strange look on his face as he addressed him,
"Do you even know how extraordinary such a skill is? Where did a mortal like you co across such a treasure? Is your master from the Celestial Realm?"
Cain blinked.
He had no idea a skill he had created a fairly long ti ago according to human standards would be so impressive to beings that had lived at least ten tis longer than he had.
He was tempted to say he had no master, and the skill was sothing he had created himself.
But then, a thought entered his mind.
He grinned,
"Well, let's just say my master is a Demon, of sorts."
Avalon nodded, as though he had his suspicions,
"That is indeed predictable."
Then the eyes of the {Cynogryph} narrowed,
"Still, humans cannot enter the Godless Realm recklessly. Did the Demon descend to the mortal realms?" He muttered to himself.
Cain didn't take the liberty to correct him. Instead, he turned to Asteron,
"So that's your true motive? You want to learn the skill?"
Asteron shook his head,
"I am not one to covet another's treasure. Instead, I would like to make use of you. Your combat ability and that of your team would make a good addition. This is no competition at the end of the day, we are all trying to complete the trial and return to our hos."
Although he didn't believe a single word out of the mouth of the {Wind Drake}, he still agreed with him.
Cain nodded,
"I will consider your request."
Asteron nodded then stood up,
"I urge you to consider quick."
He frowned as he turned towards the base of the next stone statue,
"The second trial will soon begin after all."
