Julio raised a brow,

"You've figured it out?"

Cain dusted his hands and turned towards an empty wall that still stood, albeit covered in cracks and holes.

'I think this will do...'

Then he turned to Julio,

"Maybe. I can't be so sure yet. But I do have an idea."

Julio glanced down at the stone piece arranged on the ground. Then he stood up.

Dusting his palms, we walked over to Cain, staring blankly at the wall,

"Then what did you figure out?"

Cain grinned,

"See things from their eyes. In that case; what possibly could be going on? Why did the moon suddenly turn into blood? Why does it siphon mana and vitality? What could possibly be happening?"

Cain frowned,

"And then it clicked. There could be only one possibility. Or maybe two..."

"Two?"

Cain nodded,

"From my understanding, the dead Celestials desire two things. To be reborn into the physical realm, and to expand their celestial territory to gather more Divinity."

Cain stretched his arm and an iron rod tore away from a broken concrete pillar, settling into his open palm the next mont.

Cain began stratching sothing into the wall.

Julio frowned,

"So what you are trying to say is that the goddess is trying to use all our lives as fuel to achieve rebirth? Like what that Balangol did?"

Cain raised a brow, "You know what happened?"

Julio smiled, "It was hard to miss. That day, the world was covered in the black of death. That's what the spirits told ."

Cain huffed,

"Well, that might be having another Celestial rebirth on our hands. But I think this is the less likely option."

"How so?" Julio couldn't help but ask.

"That Balangol is proof that wisdom does not co from how long one lives. Although the divinity he accumulated was enough to make the rebirth happen, the body of the host was nowhere powerful enough to contain a soul and spirit as vast and powerful as that of a Celestial. The mont Kaelin beca his champion, his fate was sealed."

Julio put his hand on his chin,

"So to be reborn, a Celestial requires its champion to possess a strong body?"

Cain shook his head,

"An even stronger spirit and soul as well. If both are destroyed during the process then the body breaks down and becos useless too, it seems."

Cain recalled what happened that day. In order to last as long as possible, Balangol has restricted his power as much as possible. Because of that, he ended up defeated and the rebirth beca for naught.

"If my guess is correct, then a rebirth isn't what this Blood Moond Sect and their goddess is after."

"The second possibility..."

Cain nodded as he spoke with narrowed eyes,

"Worlds like this beco part of a Celestial's domain through the influence of its worshipers."

Julio's eyes widened,

"You an to tell ..."

Cain nodded,

"That's exactly it. A takeover. Just as how Devils seek to corrupt worlds and drain the life from them, Celestials also seek to mutate worlds as well, changing it in their own image."

Julio frowned.

Cain sighed,

"Well, that's just a theory. Still I think this is most likely the case."

Julio turned to him,

"Then... How do you plan on defeating the crimson moonlight?"

Cain smiled bitterly,

"There is no way to defeat it."

Julio scratched his head in annoyance,

"I'm all confused now. So what is it you have figured out?"

Cain answered carefully,

"I might not have a way of defeating the crimson moonlight, but I think I know how to resist it.

"Resist it?"

"It is a bit complicated..." Cain trailed off.

Julio chuckled,

"Well, we have no where to be at the mont, do we?"

Cain sighed.

Then he pointed at the drawing he made in the wall with the iron rod.

Julio glanced at it.

It was a squiggly drawing of two moons. However, one was much smaller than the other. There were also a few subtle differences.

Julio raised a brow.

Cain explained as he pointed,

"These are the 'real' and 'fake' moons..."

Julio frowned, "There's two moons?!"

Cain nodded,

"The real moon is still hidden away from us. Just like how it is impossible to see the Sun due to the god ash gathering in the sky, we are unable to see it at the mont."

Julio shivered,

"Then... What the hell is that thing?!" Julio said as he glanced at the steam of crimson light bleeding into the room from the broken window.

He shivered.

Cain chuckled wryly,

"I don't know. An illusion? So sort of artifact or item? Or magical phenoma... Who knows. But it is unlikely to be an illusion. An illusion can't cause all this..."

Julio turned to him, a terrified look on his face.

Cain sighed,

"In any case, whatever the hell it is, it isn't real. It is a fake. And it's purpose is to gather energy. Not just from us, but from every living being in the city. As for the why, that is not quite certain yet..."

His eyes narrowed,

"But now that we can acknowledge what it is and what it does, it will be easier to look for a solution. No, I've already found a solution..."

"You know a way to stop it?!" Julio exclaid.

Cain felt the urge to smash his head against the wall. Instead he glared coldly at Julio,

"No. Resist! Rember, it's resist!"

He sighed,

"Either way, I'll need so ti."

Julio shrugged,

"Take all the ti you need. I guess I'll go back to sleep or sothing."

Cain sighed to himself as he watched Julio walk away to rest his back against a wall.

"What a strange fellow..."

He turned around to stare at the two moons.

There was sothing he had decided to keep to himself.

He had also discovered the reason the crimson moonlight could not affect those within buildings.

"To think it would be sothing so simple..."

He glanced down at his own hands.

Then he closed his eyes...

***

The ntal space within his mind has beco much larger. Rather, it had always been a part of his Sea of Consciousness, but he had never realized it.

With that realization however, it was as though there was finally light in a dark valley.

Although there was still emptiness, the sound of water sloshing and dripping into the small pool brought him ease.

"Now then. How abyss crack this code..." He thought to himself.

The soul and the mind were linked together. It wouldn't be improper to say they were one and the sa thing even.

Visualization...

The ability to better visualize and recreate almost anything ntally was one of the advantages of having access to the Sea of Consciousness.

Hundreds upon hundreds of magic circles appeared all around him, revolving and rotating about their nexuses.

It was a wonderful sight to behold.

"Although magic is unreasonable, it does follow its own laws and principles..."

Cain frowned as he poked at a singular rune.

"The law of causality. The elental principles. Mana flow and Mana flow patterns. Each and every one have their own aning."

His stared at the rune a bit longer than normal,

"Magic can influence the physical realm... most of the ti. But in this case, if the very nature of the world rejects the magic, then it can do nothing about it."

He grasped the rune and looked up.

In his soul, there was no light besides the glow coming from the magic circles and runes surrounding him. Even then, it didn't go very far.

He sat down, surrounded on all sides by a prismatic fog on all sides, the sound of water dripping filling his thoughts.

With this, he gained clarity.

"The Celestial tried to impose their will upon the world. But the world rejects it. Hence, they are stuck in a perpetual state of struggle. He more lives are devoured under the crimson moonlight, the weaker the will of the world becos and the quicker all this will belong to the goddess."

He frowned,

"This is bad news."

His lips trembled,

"The only way to resist it would be to sohow strengthen the world itself."

He grimaced. Just saying it was giving him a headache.

In ten first place, although he could recognize its effect, he had absolutely no idea what the will of the world fighting against the crimson moonlight looked like.

He also had no idea how it could resist the oppressive sovereignity of a Celestial.

"This isn't going to be easy..."

Still, he now had direction.

He was now also sure of himself.

Since the world itself was too busy protecting itself, it could not shield them from the crimson moonlight. Only things attached to the world itself were saved from it.

This was the reason the buildings were safe from the crimson moonlight. However, that could change at any ti...

"The only way to resist it would to gain the acceptance of the world itself. Normally, this would be difficult. But I have a secret weapon on my side..."

He smiled then closed his eyes.

When he opened them, his consciousness was back in the room.

The sound of Julio's light breathing was the most obvious indicator.

The room was suffused with a light layer of crimson light, adding a touch of eerieness to it.

'I have to hurry.'

He stood up and quickly walked towards Julio.

"Hey, wake up!"

"Argh! Stop hitting , damn it!" Julio grumbled as he stirred awake.

"There's no ti to waste."

Julio wanted to say sothing, but instantly cowered when he felt the intensity of Cain's stare.

He shivered. The smile on Cain's face was too terrifying after all,

"You... What evil plan could you possibly have concocted?!"

Cain raised a brow,

"Hm? Nothing much, really. It's quite simple to be honest..."

He paused for a mont then grinned,

"We are just going to speak with the will of the world, that's all..."

Julio stared at him blankly,

"What the hell are you talking about?!"
