Shooting through the sky, his feet firmly planted on a golden flying sword, Cain glanced down.
The war down below was still in full swing, and from the look of things, it wasn’t going to be stopping anyti soon.
’Now’s no the ti to think about any of that.’ He thought to himself.
He let out a sigh.
He had already asked Evangeline all the questions that needed to be asked.
His opponent was the Tier 3 Devil leader, a {Void Tyrant Devil, Abaloth}.
Since it was a true Tier 3 being, it would officially be his strongest opponent till date.
The largest mountain he would have to climb. A true test of his journey.
He would either be crushed by the mountain, or he would scale it and reach its zenith. Only ti would tell.
After bringing him here, Evangeline had sank I to the shadows, telling him she had gone to fight her own battle.
Since it was a family feud, he didn’t want to have anything to do with it.
The rest of the journey was his to make alone.
He glanced down at his palms.
They weren’t calloused or anything. Instead, they were unblemished. The skin on his palm was now much more durable than steel.
A regular knife of sword would be unable to pierce through it.
He had beco sothing not entirely human over the span of a few months, not even up to a year’s days.
However, the thing he was going to battle was not your regular monster as well.
He opened up his status screen;

He shivered,
’This looks rather terrifying, doesn’t it?’
While Devils and mutant creatures usually had stats that looked at least ten tis more than his, or any other human for that matter, those stats were already taking into consideration the physiques of the corresponding entity as well as whatever enhancents they possessed due to race or special environnts.
Humans, on the other hand, experienced qualitative stat changes when utilizing skills or spells that increases physical prowess.
In other words, he possessed physical abilities equal to, or even greater than a Devil, Aether, or even Mutant Beast of the sa tier and similar level.
He chuckled wryly to himself. He glanced all the way down before his eyes stopped at the Free Attribute Points selection.
He was still for a mont.
He had gained fifty thousand free attribute points in this war. Before it had started, he had gone ahead to allocate all his free attribute points.
So ce his stats didn’t grow any other way for now, they were what he relied on to beco more powerful.
He hadn’t checked since then. Luckily for him, the system was still very generous.
It was ti for another power boost.
He thought about it for a mont before making a quick decision.
From all of what Evangeline had told him, the Devil he was about to battle was it one he could simply co to blows with.
According to her, the difference in quality was sothing he had never experienced before, even in his battle with Balangol.
When he had fought the recently arisen Celestial, he hadn’t known it at the ti, but the Celestial had been seriously handicapped.
It has been limited to using only skills and spells that could be safely utilized by his vessel, or he ran the risk of serious damages, which was sothing the Heavenly being had no intentions of doing up until the end.
And this has cost it greatly.
But if the Celestial had decided to go all out from the beginning, then he would have had no chance at all.
In this case however, there will be no handicaps given to him.
So the best stat to allocate all his stat points to...
Was his Magic Stat.
The mont he gave the ntal command, his free attribute points began to go down quickly while his magic stat continued to rise.
At first, there was no change.
Then he started to feel it.
No— feel was an exaggeration.
It was more like the awakening of a delicate sense. An addition to what already existed.
Despite his Magic stat more than doubling and his mana pool absolutely ballooning in size, he didn’t feel much different.
If anything, the mana flow patterns did seem a bit clearer.
’How odd.’
This wasn’t what he expected at all, so he was a bit dejected.
Suddenly, he felt the world tremble, like the fabrics of reality were rippling and cresting into waves.
He looked up.
His eyes widened.
A terrible ache burrowed into his mind and his spirit, but he was unable to to look away.
Right above him, an incredible scene was playing out.
A bolt of crimson lightning moving so fast, he thought it might have been his imagination, darted across the skies.
And standing there, radiating a profane dark light, with an esoteric conflagration of arcane geotric shapes, symbols, glyphs and runes, all compounded into what looked like a physical structure but was not at the sa ti, churning and turning like a wheel behind it, was his target.
The {Void Tyrant Devil, Abaloth} in all its wicked glory.
Cain felt his soul seize as the wonders of the magic circle— no. That was no magic circle...
Although it looked like one, this one was more solid.
For the what felt like the thousandth ti in his life his eyes were open.
He stared at it in awe and shock for so ti before snapping out of it when a feeling of overwhelming danger enveloped him.
