Now reading: Chapter 944: Management and Opportunity (2) from God Ash: Remnants of the fallen., a Action novel by DemonsandI.

Alvi stared blankly at the nothingness before him, his mind dee in his thoughts.

To his side was an empty chair. If he was still alive, his son would be in it.

Now left with no family in the world whatsoever, perhaps the fla of life no longer burned in the weary old bones.

"Damn it." He cursed silently as he picked up the glass filled with amber liquid before him.

"Drinking too much will worsen your health, Alvi."

The rim of the glass stopped just an inch away from his lips.

His mouth wrinkled into a wry smile.

He tilted his head.

Seated in the empty chair, Cain wore a small smile on his lips.

"You’ve finally been let out. I was wondering when you’d co to see ."

Cain shrugged,

"Sorry. I had a lot of things to take care of."

Alvi humd and nodded,

"I can tell."

He paused for a mont then added,

"You’ve really done a lot, haven’t you."

Cain smiled wryly,

"The plans to the developnt weren’t actually done by ."

Indeed, the design for the ’Wall’ as well as the nodes within Valestorm weren’t his idea.

Instead, he had gotten them from that [Record of Akasha] he had acquired a while back.

It recorded the experiences of those that had lived through Devilish catastrophes so those who read it would not repeat their mistakes as well as learn from their successes.

Alvi shook his head,

"What are you saying? Who else will claim the glory if not you?"

Cain chuckled, but said nothing.

Those words had double aning, after all...

The silence stretched out between them for so ti.

Then Alvi sighed,

"You know... I lost my son in the battle."

Cain raised a brow,

’That guy is dead?’

Although he did think Alvi’s son was obnoxious, he could tell the kid wasn’t a bad person. Just rather opinionated.

To think he was dead already.

’Then that ans...’

Alvi chuckled bitterly,

"I have no family left in this world. There is no ho for anymore. It is a sha indeed."

Cain pursed his lips, unsure of what to say.

Eventually, Alvi turned his head and chuckled,

"But don’t worry. I’m not going to die. At least not yet. Not until I see every one of those damned monsters burn to ash."

Cain sighed softly,

"So? What did you want to see for?" He asked.

Alvi turned his gaze back to him,

"I will be frank then. It is about the distribution of weapons and equipnt in the city."

Cain raised a brow,

"What’s the problem there?"

Alvi’s eyes narrowed,

"Right now, the sale and acquisition of weapons and other dangerous items are rather unregulated. There’s been quite a few incidents due to this."

Cain frowned, "Incidents?"

Alvi nodded,

"Burglaries, ard robberies, and even random killings. Freedom often tends to bring about the worst in human nature."

Cain went silent,

"Then what is it you are suggesting?"

"You said you want to bring order back to this ’New World’, right? This order of yours will not be complete unless there i sothing to enforce it."

"I see..."

Cain’s lips curled up,

"I get what you are saying. You want to be in charge of regulating all the weapons, armor and equipnt. Is that correct?"

Alvi nodded, "But only what is sold to the general public."

Cain humd,

"I like that idea. So I’m not good to beat around the bush either. If you join the Golden Asura, consider it done."

Alvi’s eyes narrowed. Although he recognized Cain’s talent, he would still rather be independent of it.

After all, who knew what could happen in the future? It was better not to tie his fate down to one anchor.

Before he could refuse, however, Cain held up his hand,

"And that’s not all. You can also be in charge of overseeing and regulating the nodes, as well as collecting the rates of the fares. In other words, the entire Valestorm can beco your playground."

Alvi’s eyes widened.

Then he frowned,

"But won’t this cause problems with Gilead?"

Cain chuckled and shook his head,

"No. You don’t need to worry about Gilead. Just leave that to ."

"So? What do you say?"

Alvi was silent for a good minute.

However, that was just for show.

In reality, he had already made up his mind ages ago.

How could be possible refuse such a deal?

"In that case..."

Alvi rose from his seat..

Then he bent his back, getting down on one knee.

This caught even Cain by surprise.

"By the blood flowing in my veins, till the mont it stops, I offer my services and loyalty to you, Cain the Black Demon."

Cain couldn’t help but burst out laughing.

Wiping the tears away from his eyes, he reached a hand out to Alvi,

"Enough with that crap. We still have a few more things to discuss."

Alvi chuckled as he took the hand and returned to his seat.

"Actually, I’ve always been curious to ask. Where do you mine the materials you use?"

Alvi paused for a mont,

"Well, there are dozens of deposits around Valestorm as you know. Those are our primary sources."

Cain’s brows furrowed,

"I know of the mines, but I’ve never been there myself. Still, I do know most of these mines are very... inhospitable."

Alvi chuckled then nodded,

"Yeah. Those places are terrible. Luckily, we have these..."

Alvi began chanting under his breath. Cain raised a brow in surprise.

He knew Alvi wasn’t one of those blessed with the system. So how could he—

’A Divine blessings, perhaps?’

Every human that worshipped a celestial was granted at least one skill; active or passive that was inherently tied to the god. It could a very weak skill, maybe a resistance to a certain elent, or it could be sothing imnsely powerful, such as the ability to control a godly weapon.

The space above Alvi’s hand beca unstable, and a small magic circle appeared.

Cain raised a brow,

"A summoning circle?"

"These ones are responsible for the mining. How do you think I was able to secured my position in here if I didn’t have so collateral? I’m not just so senile old man, you know..."
