"Miao, what mischief have you been up to now?"
"ow~"
Ye Lan arrived at the laundry room door and saw the basket filled with Yan Huan’s dirty clothes already toppled over, the mischievous black cat fiddling with sothing amid the pile of garnts.
"Not being good, Miao, you’ve made Brother’s clothes fall to the ground."
"ow~"
Ye Lan walked over, scolded Miao a little.
Just as she was about to pick up the plump black cat and gather the scattered clothes back together.
Ye Lan’s gaze, however, was suddenly drawn to the spot Miao kept pawing at with its paws.
Did she see a small detail out of place next to the other collars?
Ye Lan frowned, hastily picked up the garnt.
She carefully felt around the collar, inspecting it closely.
Eventually, on the exceedingly hidden inside of that collar, she saw three words neatly stitched in,
"Ye Shiyu"
Ye Lan’s eyes widened, a chill ran up her spine in an instant.
"ow~"
"..."
Miao continued to scratch around, and Ye Lan quickly put down the clothes in her hand and picked up another.
After a while of searching, as expected, she found another small corner hard to spot, bearing her daughter’s embroidered na.
Seeing this, Ye Lan seed to finally close her eyes in resignation.
After holding the garnt and being silent for a while, she stood up with a dark expression on her face, turned, and walked out of the laundry room.
"Aunt Chen!"
"Eh? Miss, what’s the matter?"
On the second floor, Aunt Chen, who was cleaning, poked her head out, listening to what Ye Lan said downstairs,
"I’ll call the driver in a bit to take you shopping for so things, like the water dispenser... pick carefully, choose the best one."
Aunt Chen opened her mouth, wanting to say it would be better to let soone else handle this.
But she vaguely sensed that Ye Lan’s calm tone had taken on an edge of thunder.
This was a display of Ye Lan’s raging fury.
"Alright, Miss."
She nodded her head, stopped cleaning imdiately, and turned to go downstairs.
"By the way, call Xiao Huan down as well."
"Ay... Xiao Huan!"
On the first floor, Ye Lan, massaging her temples, lightly tapped on her phone, seemingly contacting her subordinates.
"Aunt Ye, what’s happened?"
That young man who had just visited the house yesterday ca over with a puzzled face, causing Ye Lan to montarily pause in her tapping.
She looked at Yan Huan, who seed oblivious to everything and still in the dark, opened her mouth, and finally gave an apologetic smile,
"Xiao Huan... ah, this week Auntie and Sister Shiyu have so things. The driver will arrive in a mont, so you and Aunt Chen go on ahead and wait, the driver will take you back to the South District after dropping off Aunt Chen."
"Ah..."
Yan Huan blinked, and reluctantly said,
"Okay... alright, Aunt Ye. Then I’ll go upstairs and pack up my things..."
"Mm... sorry, Xiao Huan. The next ti you co to the house, I’ll personally pick you up."
Watching Yan Huan collect his belongings, holding Miao at the doorstep to say goodbye, then leaving the house.
Ye Lan’s smile slowly faded as she gazed at a fresh glass of banana milk in her cup, deep in thought.
She sat silently in the dining room until, minutes later, footsteps echoed down the spiral staircase.
"Tap... Tap..."
Ye Shiyu, dressed in her usual day dress, ca downstairs, slightly startled by the quiet grandeur of the house.
Her mother sat quietly in the dining area, giving her only a view of her back.
The entire room seed to impose a trendous pressure on Ye Shiyu, a grim premonition rose in her heart, making her nervously purse her lips.
"Morning, mom."
"Mm..."
Ye Lan rubbed her temples, motioned to the toast on the table, and said,
"Co, have breakfast."
"Okay..."
Ye Shiyu walked over but turned to look at the calm surroundings once more, asking,
"Where’s Aunt Chen?"
"She’s gone out to buy things."
Ye Shiyu took a seat, was silent for a few seconds, and then asked,
"...And Xiao Huan? He’s not up yet?"
"..."
Upon hearing that, Ye Lan looked up, frowning at Ye Shiyu.
Just a glance was enough for the piece of bread that Ye Shiyu was about to pick up to fall, as if lifeless, back onto the plate.
Ye Lan, looking at Ye Shiyu, said softly,
"I’ve sent Xiao Huan away, he’s gone back to the South District."
"Back... Why?"
"Why do you think?"
Ye Lan frowned, picked up Yan Huan’s clothes that were left on the chair and hadn’t been taken with him, and threw them on the dining table.
"Tell , why is your na embroidered on Xiao Huan’s clothes?"
Ye Shiyu’s eyes widened, and then a wave of guilt surged over her,
"I..."
Ye Lan’s frown deepened, she took a deep breath to steady her emotions,
"I’ve sent everyone else away, I didn’t tell them anything, it’s just us mother and daughter... so, tell , why?"
Ye Shiyu seed still unable to explain, just as she tried to look away from her mother’s gaze, Ye Lan slapped the table with a stern face,
"Smack!"
"Look at ! Speak properly!"
The sudden loud noise startled Ye Shiyu, she turned pale, and turned her head to look at Ye Lan, who was visibly angered.
Her lips quivered, yet she couldn’t utter a complete sentence,
"Mom, I... I just..."
Ye Lan did not interrupt her attempt to explain, but even so, Ye Shiyu could not provide any explanation.
This behavior infuriated Ye Lan even more,
"Last night, you didn’t leave the house at all! You took the keys and opened Xiao Huan’s room door, you went into his room, what were you doing sneaking around in his room late at night?"
