This place isn’t far from that big shopping mall; it should be a warehouse. Xie Shi stood in front of the small door and started knocking.
What Fang Yi found quite interesting was that when Xie Shi knocked, he first knocked three tis, paused briefly, then knocked four more tis.
After a while, there was also a knocking sound from behind the door: four knocks, a pause, and then five more knocks.
A bunch of sneaky, deceitful folks actually knew how to knock Morse code, making it seem like they were eting undercover agents. Fang Yi found it quite amusing.
However, Fang Yi pretended not to notice. Xie Shi turned around with an awkward smile and said, "Safety first, safety first."
Fang Yi nodded and said, "Don’t worry, I’m very safe."
Xie Shi’s mouth couldn’t help but twitch a bit.
You’re safe?
Are you kidding with your eyes wide open!
If you were safe, I’d have just opened the door and gone in; there’d be no need to use secret signals here against you!
The door finally opened.
There was an extra chain lock inside, and a sneaky-looking guy popped out. He saw Xie Shi and also saw Fang Yi behind him.
"My friend," Xie Shi said.
"Oh."
The guy unlocked the chain, opened the door, and Xie Shi went in, with Fang Yi naturally following him.
Just after Fang Yi entered, the sneaky-looking guy imdiately closed the door and put the chain lock back on.
This was indeed a warehouse, but it wasn’t stocked with goods; it was filled with iron bunk beds, about five or six, enough to accommodate a dozen people.
The warehouse was partitioned with curtains, presumably housing people inside.
There were about five or six people here, so playing on their phones, others smoking and playing cards, and so eating instant noodles. When the unfamiliar Fang Yi walked in, they all looked over at him as if he were a pure and innocent little lamb walking into a pack of wolves.
Fang Yi didn’t think so, but that’s how they saw him, at least judging by the way they looked at him.
Once inside, Xie Shi’s deanor was completely different from the feeble one earlier in front of Fang Yi. He beca extrely casual, grabbed a can of beer from the ssy table, popped it open, and gulped a few swigs.
Xie Shi smacked his lips and then said with relief, "Refreshing!"
Soone asked, "Xie Shi, who is this guy? Is he the newbie you brought along?"
Another person ca over to Fang Yi, patted him on the shoulder, and laughed, "So you’re the new friend. First ti here, let’s hear you call us bros."
Everyone laughed as if watching a cody.
Xie Shi also laughed, clearly a bit proud. Noticing Fang Yi looking at him, Xie Shi spread his hands, puckered his lips, and said nonchalantly, "Sorry, man. It’s your own head that’s not working right; don’t bla for that."
Fang Yi said calmly, "I just want to take back my battery."
Xie Shi pointed to the corner, "There it is. If you have the guts, go ahead and take it."
Fang Yi said nothing and walked straight over. There really was a battery in the corner, and not just one, but many.
As Fang Yi approached and picked up the battery, Xie Shi’s eyes widened instantly, "Damn, I told you to take it, and you really dared to!"
Fang Yi smiled, "Is there a problem?"
Xie Shi: "There’s a huge problem!"
Are you really out of your mind? Can’t you see this is a den of thieves?
But unfortunately, Fang Yi, with a smile on his face, didn’t care one bit.
Even if this was a den of thieves, or even a terrorist’s lair, Fang Yi wouldn’t care; it’s not like he hasn’t been to one before.
