After Xie Fei left, Fang Yi decided to ride his electric scooter ho. It was getting late, and if he didn’t head back, it might start raining soon.
However, just as Fang Yi turned his scooter around, he saw three young n standing ahead, blocking his way.
Fang Yi looked up; these were the sa three n he had seen in the departnt store, Dong Ziyang’s entourage.
All three wore arrogant expressions, their deanor extrely insolent.
Fang Yi maintained a calm expression and smiled, "Did you guys need sothing?"
One of them chuckled, "Can’t we co talk to you for no reason?"
As he spoke, the young man crossed his arms and then scrutinized Fang Yi’s scooter, shaking his head while making clicking sounds with his tongue.
"I thought you were soone impressive, turns out you’re just riding a broken scooter," he sneered.
"Exactly, just a loser really. Dong Ziyang even asked us to greet him, overestimated him for sure," another youth chid in.
"Sigh, shouldn’t have co, totally wasted my expression."
The three youths stood in front, appraising Fang Yi, pointing at him incessantly.
So Fang Yi simply lit a cigarette and quietly watched them.
After a while, the three eventually noticed Fang Yi staring at them with a cigarette in his mouth.
One of them craned his neck, "What are you looking at? Are you pissed off or what?"
Fang Yi exhaled a puff of smoke, "I’m not upset. If you lack manners, that’s your parents’ loss, not my fault. After all, I’m not your parent."
When it ca to verbal sparring, Fang Yi was never one to back down.
Upon hearing this, the arrogance on the trio’s faces instantly faded.
Fang Yi added, "If you don’t move, I might run soone over. Just a heads-up, I’m just a loser, and if I hit soone, I can’t afford to pay up."
The shod fear the barefoot, and the barefoot fear the fearless. The three quickly stepped aside, glaring as Fang Yi rode away on his scooter.
After Fang Yi left, the three mocked him to their heart’s content, then returned to Dong Ziyang’s side.
Dong Ziyang asked, "How was it?"
One young man imdiately answered, "Nothing much, just a loser, wasn’t here targeting you."
Another chid in, "Exactly, no need to worry, riding a scooter, how impressive can he be? Not just you, even I could pay so people to deal with him."
Dong Ziyang shook his head, "Forget dealing with him. Since he’s just a minor character, it’s not worth fussing over."
Soone nodded, "Exactly, with your status, competing with soone like that tarnishes your dignity."
Dong Ziyang’s face broke into a smile, "Thank you all for your efforts today. Co, I’ll treat you to ’Zui Xiang Lou’."
As soon as they heard Zui Xiang Lou, their eyes glead. They knew very well what kind of place Zui Xiang Lou was; only the privileged could go there. Access required status and rank.
Although they had so money, compared to those patrons, they were re dirt; calling it a disparity in status wasn’t an exaggeration.
They dread of visiting Zui Xiang Lou. They never imagined Dong Ziyang inviting them there—truly unimaginable, a great joy for them.
And they realized that Dong Ziyang’s willingness to host them at Zui Xiang Lou strongly hinted at his good mood.
As to why he was in a good mood, they could vaguely guess a bit.
