Yu Ningxue announced the end of the eting. After everyone finished packing up their docunts and eting notes, they went back to their own tasks.

The victim’s floor was the sixth, the highest in this building, and often rented by expatriates working in Shanghai.

Yu Ningxue held Xiao Tian’s hand as they walked through the dim corridor, nervously looking around.

Then a clear ’click’ sounded, leaving her incredulous as she watched Xiao Tian, who smiled slightly and stepped inside.
Yu Ningxue’s earlier reminder was due to hearing that many security doors now included anti-wire technology, which would discharge electricity to knock out anyone attempting a break-in with a wire.
But before she could finish her sentence, Xiao Tian was already inside the door, which made her amazed. Even the most professional locksmith company couldn’t be as exaggerated as him, right?
She hastily followed him inside, unable to think further.
This was a small unit; originally a standalone three-bedroom with one living room and one bathroom, it had been remodeled by the landlord into separate small rooms, leaving the living room empty.

Yu Ningxue looked curiously at Xiao Tian squatting by the drain, not knowing what he intended to do.
Xiao Tian reached out and removed the stopper blocking the drain, revealing a bundle of black hair inside, giving Yu Ningxue goosebumps.
Xiao Tian took a long strand from the bundle, closed his eyes, and began doing sothing unknown, leaving Yu Ningxue dumbfounded by the eerie scene, her imagination running wild.
Though appearing deep in thought, Xiao Tian was actually employing a secret technique, which was simple yet rarely used. In the police industry, possessing such a technique should place one at the provincial departnt by now.
Simply put, it uses items such as hair or nails as a dium to probe a part of the dium owner’s mory.
Of course, the mory probed may vary in length, depending on one’s understanding and application of the secret technique.
