The rankings of the Inter-Guild Display Event were updated once more after the defeat of the Crimson Star and ChaosKnight guilds.

With ChaosKnight’s death, naturally all their points were transferred to the Adventurer Guild, and half of Crimson Star’s points were transferred as well.

Plus, with the three goblin generals slain by Gabriel, the Adventurer Guild was boosted back into first place once more.

Adventurer Guild – 3009 points

Holy Church – 2800 points

Olympus Guild – 2800 points

Martial Palace – 2766 points

’The Holy Church in second place?’ Gabriel thought inwardly, shocked.

The last ti he had checked, the Holy Church had been in fourth.

"We’re just as shocked as you," Lilly said when she saw his expression.

"They probably encountered a larger goblin horde or a goblin general," Sophie pointed out softly.

Then, with a thoughtful expression, she added, "However, if it was the latter, even with their numbers, they shouldn’t have dealt with it so fast before the end of the competition."

"The Holy Church has always been sneaky," Alice Sneered. "I’m sure they used underhanded tactics."

Gabriel remained quiet the entire ti, a thoughtful expression crossing his features. If there was one person who knew the Holy Church best, it was him.

They were vile organisation hiding under the pretense of holiness. Using underhanded tactics wasn’t sothing they would shy away from.

’There’s only one way to find out.’ He pulled out his system status and navigated to the Realm of Ascendency official forum.

Clicking on it, his view was instantly flooded with thousands of ssages that kept popping up—most of them either talking about him or ChaosKnight’s humiliating defeat.

Fortunately, the forum had a search bar. Inputting a few words, he ca across so intriguing ssages.

Gabriel paused when he reached this point and watched the video clip below.

’What is that?’ he thought, a deep frown on his face. On the screen, a shadowy entity dashed through the ranks of goblins, devouring them.

He paused the footage several tis, hoping to get a clearer look, but because of its intense speed, the only thing he could catch was a blur.

’What sort of summon is that?’ A strange light flashed across his eyes.

Whatever this summon was, it was very powerful and seed to grow stronger with everything it devoured.

...at least, that was what he could deduce after watching the clip over and over again.

He wanted to share this knowledge with the others, but thinking about all the questions it would raise, he let it go.

"Master, what is it?" Anna asked, concerned.

"It’s nothing." He casually waved the question off. "Where is the tent?"

"I kept it inside my inventory."

While Gabriel was conversing with his maid, the others—Scarlet’s squad mbers—went to check out the battlefield.

What they saw left them stunned.

"This many goblins and Crimson Star mbers? What the freaking hell happened here?!" Brunt exclaid.

Not too far from him stood Scarlet and Lilly.

"Vice Leader, with their deaths—especially Ken’s—the relationship between the Adventurer Guild and Crimson Star is beyond salvageable now," Lilly said grimly.

"It was inevitable," Scarlet replied. "They ca for him. It’s only natural he defended himself."

"I know that, Vice Leader. However, it seems you’ve forgotten who Ken is."

At Lilly’s words, Scarlet raised a brow, suggesting she truly didn’t know what Lilly was talking about.

"You didn’t know who Ken is?" Lilly was slightly shocked.

The vice guild leader didn’t usually pay attention to most things, but she had expected her to at least know that.

Lilly sighed, then began to explain. "He’s a graduate from the Blackrose Military Academy, one of the best students of his year, and his family has deep ties with the Edgeburne Kingdom military."

When Scarlet heard this, her expression shifted. The military played an integral part in this world, and each kingdom had one.

But there was a common consensus that the most powerful of them all was the Edgeburne Kingdom military.

Who would have thought the vice leader of Crimson Star had such a background?

"Furthermore, he’s also the fiancé of Lilith Valentine—a marriage that was supposed to bridge the Valentine family and possibly Ken’s family."

Now Scarlet understood the reason for Lilly’s concern.

Still, there wasn’t much worry on her face. One might think this was because she was the daughter of a powerful adventurer like Thomas Voss.

In truth, this was far from it.

The truth was... Scarlet simply didn’t care.

She glanced at Gabriel in the distance, still talking to his maid.

"I’m sure he doesn’t care either," she mumbled to herself, her eyes gleaming.

"Vice Leader Scarlet, what do we do?" Lilly asked, brows furrowed. "By the ti the guild leader returns from his expedition, things might get more complicated."

A thoughtful expression appeared on Scarlet’s face, her emotions perfectly masked behind that cold exterior.

After a while, she finally spoke in a firm voice. "There’s a big chance that after the event, he’ll attempt to create his own guild."

"That was what he wanted to do originally, according to the receptionist," Lilly nodded.

Scarlet’s expression turned cold, and in a rciless voice she said, "Till then, we’ll protect him as mbers of the Adventurer Guild. But anything that happens to him afterward will be his own burden to carry."

"Yes, Vice Leader!" Lilly replied.

...

Because of the hundreds of goblin and Crimson Star corpses, the Adventurer Guild didn’t set up camp there.

Instead, they moved to another terrain that was more pristine and began setting up camp there.

After the last incident, Scarlet tightened security, personally taking the first watch while Gabriel was assigned the second.

A campfire burned in the middle of the camp, adventurers gathered around it to warm themselves while chatting among each other.

Gabriel’s squad mbers were recounting his battles with the three Hero-rank goblins as if they were so grand epic.

And if not for the corpses they had seen, none of them would have believed that an adventurer who had yet to complete his first class advancent could be this powerful.

"Do you think he’s stronger than the vice leader?" soone asked.

"At this point, I’m not so sure myself... he’s like an anomaly that shouldn’t exist."

anwhile, inside his tent, Gabriel quickly ordered Anna to bring out the corpses.

It was ti to get to work.
