Gabriel’s eyes softened slightly when he saw the first phase of his plan go smoothly. "Good."

He rose to his feet, straightening his spine, and held the timid boy’s gaze. "You’ll find the church on the east side of the city. Tell the nun at the entrance that you ca to pray for redemption. She’ll let you in. Once inside, look for a silver chest under the altar — but don’t open it. Bring it to ."

"And where do I find you after that?" Logan asked hesitantly.

Gabriel turned around, speaking without looking back. "Right here. Don’t make a scene."

Then he walked away, disappearing into the crowded plaza before Logan could even ask his na.

---

Gabriel moved through the streets quietly, his mind already running through calculations.

’It’s risky giving him that quest so soon,’ he thought. ’But if the boy really is who I think he is... then it’s worth it.’

He had been on the lookout for this person ever since the official launch of the ga.

Among the thousands of players from his past life, one in particular had earned the title of Legendary chanic—capable of crafting weapons of mass destruction.

That ID belonged to Legendary Logan.

Every kingdom, guild, and rcenary faction both in-world and in-ga rembered that na — a player who had single-handedly changed the balance of power by building powerful items that could level entire towns.

Gabriel still rembered the chaos vividly.

In his previous life, before the first major update, Logan had been a quiet background figure—until he wasn’t.

The sa timid boy who was mocked for being useless had eventually beco the most feared chanic alive.

Back then, the Church had recruited him first. And during the conflict between the Holy Church and the Olympus Guild, he had built the Heavenbreaker Cannon — the weapon that vaporized the enemy fortress in a single shot.

He went on to design powerful chas, greatly strengthening the Holy Church and turning them into the strongest faction not only in this kingdom but across the entire world.

This ti around, Gabriel decided to make him an enemy of the Church before recruiting him himself. The Church was known for despising all who attacked their property or mbers.

And they never forgave.

Which technically ant that by making Legendary Logan take this mission, he would completely ruin any chance of being recruited by them in the future.

Gabriel’s expression didn’t change as he walked down the long, crowded street, but deep inside, a thin smile tugged at his lips.

Everything was unfolding exactly as he wanted.

It was cruel — but necessary.

If the Church, the servants of Sutre, got their hands on Logan again, history would simply repeat itself. The sa chaos. The sa destruction. The sa suffering.

He couldn’t allow that to happen. Not this ti.

---

Back at the fountain, Logan stared at the quest prompt for several long minutes before finally standing up.

’It’s a ga. I won’t really die. Besides, I’ve not progressed that much, so I won’t lose too many levels,’ he thought, trying to convince and cheer himself up.

He glanced around for the mysterious man, but he was gone — as if he had vanished into thin air.

He looked back at the quest window again and adjusted his glasses nervously.

’Hope this gamble pays off... and the quest is really worth it.’

He started walking east, passing through busy stalls and crossing narrow bridges. The church was impossible to miss — a tall marble structure crowned with a glowing white crystal that pulsed softly.

It was the most beautiful and largest building in the entire city, second only to the City Lord’s mansion.

The guards at the entrance didn’t even glance at him as he approached. When he repeated the phrase Gabriel had told him—

"I ca to pray for redemption."

—The nun smiled warmly and opened the door. "The Church welcos all who seek her light."

"Thank you," he whispered, bowing his head to hide the anxiety on his face.

Inside, the air was cool and quiet. Stained-glass windows painted the floor in shifting colors. Players occasionally walked by to receive blessing buffs, while NPC priests offered prayers.

Logan swallowed hard and followed the direction he had morized in his head. It led him toward the far end of the sanctuary, behind the main altar.

He crouched down, pretending to tie his shoe, and carefully peeked beneath the altar.

There it was.

A small silver chest etched with faint runes.

[Quest Item: Silver Offering Box.]

Badump! Badump!

His heart pounded.

In the real world, religion — no matter which — was highly respected. Although he knew everything here was programd and not truly real, it still left a bitter taste in his mouth.

However, little did he know that his quest was much simpler compared to the ones Gabriel had given to SniperBowLegend, Bunny, and Ragnarok99, which required them to assassinate a priest.

If he had been assigned a similar quest, Logan would have pissed himself.

"This feels wrong..." he muttered under his breath.

Still, he reached out and tapped it.

[Item Obtained: Silver Offering Box.]

A faint chi echoed — louder than expected. The priests nearby turned their heads, but Logan had already slipped the box into his inventory and stood up, walking away quickly but trying not to run.

He exited the church without being stopped, though sweat rolled down his back.

When he reached a certain distance, he heard the alarm blare behind him and the angry shouts of knights. He hastened his steps.

[Ding! Reputation: -100 (Hostility)]

"Dang!" He gritted his teeth, already expecting this. His only hope was that the rewards would make up for it.

The Church was one of the strongest factions in this world — the last thing he wanted was for them to hunt him and make the ga unplayable.

When he returned to the fountain, the masked man was waiting, leaning against the railing with his arms crossed.

"You did well," Gabriel said.

Logan handed him the box. "What was inside it?"

Gabriel didn’t answer imdiately. Instead, he held the chest in one hand and opened it.

The box clicked open silently. Inside was a bunch of coins and low-ranked treasures — offerings donated by mbers of the Church.

The total was a little over a thousand Valerian Dollars, and the trinkets could only be described as worthless. They didn’t even sparkle properly.

"W-What the...?" Logan blinked in disbelief. Did he seriously risk his reputation for this?

Gabriel stared down at the contents quietly. His expression didn’t change, but it was clear he had expected this outco all along.

"These are just... donations," Logan muttered. "You made risk being banned for this?!"

He couldn’t help it — the words slipped out.

Gabriel tilted his head slightly, looking at him through the mask. "Disappointed?"

"Of course I’m disappointed!" Logan frowned. "I thought it’d be sothing important — a rare quest, or at least a secret item, not soone’s pocket change!"

He could already imagine the system moderators catching him and labeling him as a Church thief. His stomach twisted just thinking about it.

Then it struck him; he had mistaken this person for a powerful NPC — but what would a powerful NPC do with a couple of donations?

While he was regretting his life choices, suddenly a screen flashed across his face.

[Ding! Congratulations for completing the quest against the Church.]

[Your rewards are being calculated...]

Logan stared at the system prompt with a slightly skeptical look on his face. He didn’t dare think soone who had stolen ager donations from a church would have anything worthwhile for him.
