God-Tier Extraction Talent: Reincarnated in a Game-like World! Chapter 360: Making Preparations [2]
After his death, Dante’s corpse had not been disposed of. Under Gabriel’s command, Anna had kept it in an abandoned warehouse within the camp that was rarely used.
It was a warehouse that had once been used to store weapons, but because of constant leakage from the roof, it had been abandoned and relocated to a different section of the camp.
At this mont, Gabriel lood over the corpse of Dante Ironheart with a calm yet unreadable expression on his face.
If any of the people who had fought against Dante had witnessed this sight, they would never believe that the unstoppable warrior who had slaughtered countless enemies was now lying cold and lifeless on the floor.
However, there was not just one corpse.
Beside Dante lay the corpse of the deceased vampire duke, the sa one Gabriel had slamd into the ground on Floor Ninety Nine.
"I should be angry at you for killing one of my own. Why do I not feel anything?" Seraphina asked, confusion evident on her beautiful features.
She was currently wearing a transparent red gown that showcased faint glimpses of her delicate skin beneath. The gown was quite tight, accentuating her generous chest and making it appear even fuller than it already was.
If one looked closely, the faint outline of her undergarnts could be seen.
As for why she was wearing sothing like this, it was a complete mystery even to Gabriel. Unfortunately for her, his mind was far too occupied to notice, much to the dismay of the vampire queen who had deliberately dressed this way for him.
"Maybe it is because you have no recollection of them," Gabriel replied calmly, shifting his gaze back to the two Hero Rank corpses lying side by side. "That is why."
At the mont, only the two of them were present. Anna was stationed outside, ensuring that no one approached the warehouse.
"What do you want to do with the corpses, though? Do not tell you are so sort of cannibal," Seraphina inquired casually.
A flicker of disgust passed through Gabriel’s eyes.
’Right. She does not know about my talent yet,’ he thought silently.
For so reason, he did not feel the need to hide it from her.
So far, the only person who truly knew was Anna, and she had done an excellent job protecting his secret. Deep down, he suspected that Scarlet and Sophie also had their doubts, but nothing had been confird, and they certainly did not know how his talent worked.
Regardless, Gabriel felt it was not necessarily a bad thing for the vampire queen to know as well.
"Just watch," he said calmly. "I will show you."
He stepped forward until he was about a ter away from the vampire duke’s corpse. Lowering his voice slightly, he whispered,
"Extract."
A system notification rang out in his mind.
[Ding! Do you wish to extract level 110 vampire Duke? Cost 55 EP]
"Yes," Gabriel answered confidently.
The Extraction Points were imdiately deducted from his reserve. A second translucent screen appeared across his vision, hovering over his retina.
On it, the available extraction options were neatly listed.
[Vampirism potion]
[Blood projectile(Elite-Ranked)]
[Explosive Blood Bomb x20]
[Agility 20]
Gabriel’s gaze lingered on the list, a faint trace of disappointnt flashing through his eyes. Part of him had expected sothing far more groundbreaking, perhaps a rare treasure or an exceptional skill.
Instead, the options were strikingly similar to what he had obtained from other high level vampires in the tower.
’I suppose when you kill the sa type of enemy repeatedly, the rewards tend to overlap,’ he reasoned.
Even so, he still needed to make a decision.
Fortunately, the extraction options did not expire imdiately, giving him ample ti to consider which choice was most suitable.
That did not stop his confusion.
Seraphina frowned when she noticed his eyes fixed on empty space.
To her, Gabriel appeared to be staring at nothing, yet the intensity of his focus made it clear that sothing was there.
"What are you looking at?" she asked, her tone light but her eyes filled with curiosity.
Gabriel did not respond right away.
His fingers flexed once before he exhaled slowly and spoke.
"You cannot see it."
"Hm?" Seraphina tilted her head, her crimson hair sliding over her shoulders. "See what?"
"My talent screen," Gabriel replied evenly. "It shows what I can take from the corpse."
Seraphina blinked once, then twice. Her gaze moved from Dante’s lifeless face to the crushed body of the vampire duke, then back to Gabriel.
"So that is your talent," she murmured softly. "You do not just kill. You strip them of what remains."
Gabriel did not bother correcting her interpretation.
"Since you are a vampire," he continued calmly, "I will list the options. Maybe you can help decide."
He raised a finger and listed them one by one.
"Vampirism potion."
"Blood projectile."
"Explosive blood bombs. Twenty of them."
"Agility plus twenty."
Seraphina’s expression shifted at the first option. "Vampirism. That would..."
"Turn into a vampire," Gabriel finished calmly, cutting her off. "That option appeared several tis during my climb in the tower. It seems the universe truly wants to beco one."
"It would not be that bad," she muttered.
Gabriel ignored her comnt and moved on to the next option.
Blood projectile.
He did not need an explanation for this one. From the na alone, it was obvious that it allowed the user to condense blood into piercing attacks.
As if reading his thoughts, Seraphina spoke again.
"Blood projectile is a technique," she explained. "You compress blood into a piercing shot. It is fast and can bypass basic armor if the rank is high enough. It is essentially a weaker version of blood manipulation."
"What is the difference?" Gabriel asked.
"I can shape and control my blood freely," she replied. "You would only be limited to straight projectiles."
Even with that restriction, a skill of this rank would still be useful in battle.
However, his skill slots were already full. Even if he chose it, he would not be able to learn it imdiately, just like the unused skill scroll rotting in his inventory.
He could not afford to chase every shiny reward while ignoring the bigger picture.
"You are thinking too much," Seraphina muttered, deliberately crossing her arms beneath her chest. "Just take the best one and move on."
Gabriel did not react.
In truth, he was tempted by the blood projectile, especially since it could function as an area attack.
But temptation alone was not enough.
"I do not take what looks best," he replied calmly. "I take what helps survive the next problem. If I die before completing my class advancent, any skill would be aningless."
Seraphina’s lips twitched slightly.
That answer pleased her more than she cared to admit.
"Then you should consider the bombs," she said after a mont.
Gabriel’s gaze shifted.
Explosive Blood Bomb tis twenty.
He was already familiar with them. They had been invaluable during the later stages of the tower.
They were consumables and extrely effective. A single bomb thrown into a cluster of enemies could cause massive damage.
More importantly, twenty of them would last a long ti.
Gabriel tapped his fingers lightly against his thigh.
Consumables did not require skill slots.
That alone made them far more appealing than another technique.
"What about the agility stat?" Seraphina asked suddenly.
"The stats are easy to obtain," Gabriel replied. "Almost every corpse offers them. Not all grant twenty at once, but stats can be accumulated later. Twenty bombs that can cripple enemies, break formations, or force retreats have imdiate value."
"If you say so," she shrugged.
"I will take the blood bombs," Gabriel said firmly.
To him, this was far better than deleting a skill just to learn another.
Seraphina stared at him for a long mont before laughing softly.
"Cold. Practical. Annoyingly smart."
Gabriel ignored her.
He raised his hand and focused, selecting the blood bomb option.
The system responded instantly.
A faint purple light flickered above the vampire duke’s corpse.
When it faded, twenty explosive blood bombs lay beside it, pulsing faintly with dormant power.
With a simple wave of his hand, Gabriel stored them in his inventory.
The corpse visibly withered, as if its remaining value had been completely drained.
Monts later, it began to decay rapidly, turning into fine dust.
’That was faster than usual,’ Gabriel thought. ’Is it because the corpse was no longer fresh?’
Seraphina watched silently, her expression tinged with horror.
"I have a question," she said eventually.
"What is it?"
"If we had fought in the tower and you had killed ," she asked slowly, "would you have used your talent on as well?"
"Definitely."
At his imdiate response, Seraphina clutched her chest dramatically as if struck.
Ignoring her antics, Gabriel turned toward the remaining corpse.
Dante Ironheart.
