For a mont, Garret had thought that this was indeed the end for him. The proximity between him and Seraphina was far too close, and at such a short distance, dodging was nearly impossible.

As he spiraled through all his life choices and silently wished he had never provoked the red haired man and woman, a transparent barrier suddenly lit up before him.

It was then that he finally rembered the personal guard he had brought along from the camp.

Seeing that barrier, he could barely contain the excitent surging within him. If not for the current situation, he would have given the guard a big hug and kiss.

Despite another figure appearing out of thin air, neither Gabriel nor Seraphina seed surprised.

They had sensed his presence seconds ago. Seraphina had simply chosen not to make it obvious, deliberately giving Garret the illusion that they were unaware of his assassin class companion.

After brushing so close to death, Garret’s face flushed red with rage. Every trace of lust vanished, replaced by pure, seething hatred.

His eyebrow twitched, as did the corner of his lips.

"Oops, he survived," Seraphina said flatly, without a hint of shock or excitent in her tone.

"Y you... how dare you," Garret finally snapped. "I was being nice to you. Why did you attack?"

"It seems you still have not understood what you did wrong," Gabriel replied calmly as his greatsword materialized in his grasp.

"Not every woman is as easy as your boss’s wives. Not everyone wants to be your boss’s concubine. You do not get to make decisions for other people."

"Who the hell are you?" Garret roared, releasing all his pent up anger. It was clear he was holding himself back from attacking. After nearly being sent to the afterlife, he was treading cautiously.

"An insignificant insect like you does not need to know who we are," Seraphina replied coldly, her tone laced with disdain.

"Very good!" Garret suddenly clapped and burst into laughter as if he had heard the funniest joke in existence. "By attacking , you are declaring war on the entire eastern camp. You two are no different from walking corpses. But I will not even need the camp to deal with you."

He smiled and shouted, "Kill him!"

Yet neither he nor his assassin friend moved, raising the question of who the order was actually ant for.

Several seconds passed, nothing happened. Garret’s expression slowly darkened, and even his assassin companion mirrored the sa unease.

Then a figure appeared behind Gabriel and Seraphina, wielding dual blades. She stood frozen, unable to stab the two red haired figures from behind.

Garret was furious at the assassin’s incompetence, until he noticed it. Beneath the assassin’s legs was a faintly glowing circle.

[Stonebind Trap]

The other assassin, who had remained silent all this ti, spoke grimly. "Boss, I think they discovered him earlier. That circle... it’s a skill."

Hearing this, Garret was beyond furious and frustrated at the sa ti. A thought struck him. If they had known about the assassin behind them, did that an they were also aware of the one who had saved him?

He could not help but study the two more carefully. One was a tall man with red hair, sharp eyes, and a handsoness that surpassed ninety nine percent of the world’s population. The other was a stunning woman with shoulder length red hair and striking eyes, a beauty capable of toppling nations.

"Who exactly are you people?" he asked, taking a step back.

"The people you are looking for," Gabriel replied, then he turned and slashed with his greatsword in one smooth motion, too fast for ordinary eyes to follow.

The Stonebind Trap duration ended, allowing the assassin to move again. However, a thin red line had already ford across her neck.

She slowly raised a hand to touch it, her eyes widening in shock. The mont her fingers brushed against her skin, her head slid off and tumbled onto the brown sand in a slow arc.

Even in death, her eyes remained wide open, never having seen it coming.

Garret recovered quickly. He leapt back several ters and conjured a spinning water sphere lined with razor sharp edges.

FWOOOSH!

"Die, bastard!" he roared as the water ball shot forward, slicing through the air.

Shing!

A swift slash from Gabriel’s sword split it cleanly into two halves, its montum shattered as water splashed everywhere.

The remaining assassin snapped his fingers and vanished.

"Foolish human. There is no difference between that and staying visible," Seraphina clicked her tongue.

It was pointless. She could still sense him.

The mont he disappeared, the surrounding air trembled slightly, a faint ripple most would have missed. Unfortunately for him, Seraphina was not most people.

Her lips curved into a faint, mocking smile as her crimson eyes shifted toward an empty patch of space to Garret’s right.

The assassin’s heart skipped.

Before he could reposition or strike, the ground beneath him darkened as veins of crimson light spread outward like living tendrils.

[Blood Veins!]

The invisible figure was violently dragged back into view, his outline flickering before fully materializing. His legs buckled as unseen restraints locked him in place.

"What?!" he gasped, panic breaking through his composure.

Garret’s eyes widened in horror.

"You! Release him!" he shouted, hurriedly forming another spell as mana surged wildly around his body.

Gabriel did not even look at him. He took a single calm step forward, greatsword resting casually on his shoulder, his presence alone making the air feel heavy.

Garret clenched his teeth, veins bulging as he forced more mana into his spell. A massive whirl of water ford, denser and sharper than before, pressure spiraling violently.

"I will kill you both!" he scread, sanity slipping. "I will grind you into—"

He never finished.

Seraphina appeared before the trapped assassin in a flash of crimson, her movent so fast it looked like she had simply blinked.

She threw a punch.

BOOM!

A hole tore straight through the assassin’s chest as his body collapsed lifelessly to the ground.

Garret froze. One of the most powerful assassins from the eastern camp had been dealt with effortlessly. His spell destabilized, crashing uselessly as his hands trembled.

In desperation, he released everything he had left. Moisture surged violently, forming sharp water blades that shot toward Gabriel from every direction.

FWOOOSH!

Gabriel did not dodge. He raised his greatsword and brought it down in a single decisive arc.

Shing!

The world seed to split.

Every water blade was cleaved apart midair. The shockwave ripped through the ground, carving a deep trench that stretched several ters behind Garret.

He stood frozen, then noticed a thin line of blood forming across his chest.

Looking down in disbelief, his body split cleanly in two and collapsed lifelessly onto the sand.

Seraphina exhaled softly, brushing imaginary dust from her hands.

"That was quicker than expected," she said. "You did not even let him beg properly."

Gabriel glanced at the corpses briefly. "That would have been a waste of ti. Besides, I need them dead. That is the only way they are useful to ."

He smiled faintly. "I wonder what kind of things I will get from an assassin type fighter."
