Gabriel watched Anna run off, then shifted his attention toward the towering walls of the Eastern camp, and the shouting coming from inside told him the fighting outside had only created a new problem. He did not waste ti, and he motioned for Serpahina to follow, then signaled a few core mbers to co with him.

The Broken Dawn mbers at the gate opened a path, and he walked in with steady steps, ignoring the stares from surviving Eastern fighters on the walls.

The mont he passed through the gates, he could see people moving like they had no rules anymore, so running, so arguing, so dragging bundles, and others standing in groups with hard faces like they were ready to fight over anything.

The unrest was already centered near the supply hall and the main square, and when he reached it, the refugees turned in waves and looked at him in confusion.

Seeing soone being accompanied by a group of powerful looking people right after the sound of fighting was certainly intriguing and quickly caught everyone’s attention.

Soon people started whispering.

"Who is that."

"Is Lord Henry alive."

"Did the enemy win."

"Are we going to die."

Gabriel did not rush to answer them. He walked straight into the middle of the square where a man stood on a crate, loud and smug, waving his arms like he owned the place, and around him were several rough n pushing people away from the supply doors while they stacked boxes behind their legs.

The man’s coat was cleaner than everyone else’s, his hair was combed like he had ti for it during war, and he spoke like he had already crowned himself.

"Listen," he shouted. "Dominic and Henry are gone, so the camp needs a lord. I am taking that position. If you want food you co to . If you want protection you stand with my n. Anyone who talks back gets dealt with. Anyone who wants supplies will pay. That is how order works."

A woman cried that the boxes were for the wounded, and one of the lackeys shoved her aside, and the self made leader laughed as if it was normal, making the crowd stir with anger and fear at the sa ti.

Alice clicked her tongue and spoke loudly. "Who made this bozo lord."

The self made lord snapped his eyes at her, finally noticing the presence of Gabriel and the others.

He ignored Alice directly and his gaze went to the man who seed to effortlessly attract all the attention even without trying.

But whether it was arrogance or he was too weak to see the mountain standing before him, the man continued with arrogance.

"Who are you. If you want to live here you follow my rules. Hand over that weapon and maybe I let you join. Because you look strong I might give you a good position and won in my camp."

Gabriel’s eyes flashed with disgust, but he did not say anything and continued to watch with a calm expression.

People nearby stared at him, whispering faster, and the self made lord used it, spreading his arms and pointing at the crowd like he was their savior.

"See. They do not know you. But they know I am here. If you want to eat today, stand behind my n."

His lackeys started pulling people by the arms, forcing a rough line, and when a boy tried to pull his sister away he got slapped hard, making more survivors shout, and a few pushed forward like they were about to riot.

"That’s enough," Gabriel finally said, and the single word cut through because it was not pleading and it was not fear. It carried absolute authority.

For a mont the self made lord was forced to obey before his arrogance returned.

"Or what. You will kill in front of them. You think you can scare . This is my camp now," he declared loudly.

Gabriel did not argue. He only nodded once to Sniperbowlegend and Ragnarok beside him, and the two disappeared into the crowd without drawing attention, moving so fast that the refugees, mostly unawakened and low level adventurers, could not follow.

The man kept talking, trying to keep the square heated, pointing at Broken Dawn mbers at the edges and yelling that outsiders were here to take everything, and a few civilians started to believe him because fear made lies easy.

Gabriel watched and waited, letting the loud man expose his lackeys, and he noticed two more rough n coming in from the side street with sacks, tossing them near the crate.

"First class area had good stuff," one of them said, grinning. "People there hide supplies."

The words made the square tense, because the first class area ant the better houses, and it ant soone was already robbing their own camp while others starved.

It also confird sothing painful. All the big shots were truly gone.

Minutes later Sniperbowlegend and Ragnarok returned, and this ti they ca with several more people, a couple of civilians with bruises and torn clothes, and a few n being dragged by their collars, trying to pull away.

Sniperbowlegend pointed at the dragged n. "These ones were looting."

Ragnarok spoke right after while slamming his hand on one of their backs. "They were breaking into houses in the first class area. They said they were doing it under this man’s orders."

One bruised civilian shouted, "It is true. They ca to my place and took food and valuables. They said the new lord wanted it."

Another yelled that dicine had been stolen.

The crowd shifted hard, and the self made leader’s smile twitched, but he still managed to maintain his composure as he pointed at Gabriel and said, "Do not listen. I am one of you. I am the only one keeping order."

Gabriel stepped forward by a pace and spoke clearly to the whole square. "My na is Gabriel Reyes. As you already suspect, Dominic and Henry are dead. The Eastern camp surrendered. I am the new lord of this camp."

Disbelief and shock rippled through the crowd, because so had heard the chant from outside and so had not, and hearing it said here made the truth land.

However, the self made lord still did not believe what Gabriel was saying. The latter was young, and his strength did not appear as overwhelming as Dominic or Henry’s, which made it hard for him to accept.

The man knew that if he played his cards well, he might still beco the lord of this camp, and he did not want to take chances.

"You expect them to believe that," he sneered. "You walked in with a few people and think you can take a camp. I have n. I have supplies. I have a crowd. If you are lord, prove it."

The Broken Dawn mbers around the edges only shook their heads with pity, because they had seen the battlefield and they knew this man was talking like he had been asleep during the whole war.
