Now reading: Chapter 536: The Masked Deleter from God-Tier Extraction Talent: Reincarnated in a Game-like World!, a Game novel by MidnightWolfe.

Behind that man were several figures dressed in black armor. Their posture was stiff, their aura concealed, and the way they stood made Gabriel’s expression turn colder.

Deleters.

A squad created to remove NPCs who beca too troubleso or caused disruption in the ga. Gabriel had faced them before, so he knew how dangerous they were. They were not normal players, and they were not ordinary people of this world either.

Torin seed to notice the sa thing.

His eyes moved from the spectacled man to the armored figures behind him. His expression changed slightly, not from fear, but from anger and caution.

"You are not like the otherworlders, but I can feel it. You are still one of them."

The spectacled man smiled faintly. "That is one way to put it."

Flas flickered around Torin’s fingers. "How did you find this place?"

The man in the suit did not answer imdiately. He only adjusted his sleeve with a calm motion.

Torin’s anger rose. "You people keep coming. Players... now whatever you are. Do you think this world belongs to you?"

The spectacled man looked at him with mild interest. "This world is more complicated than you understand."

"Tsk!" Finally fed up with the cockiness of the man, Torin lunged forward.

FWOOSH!

His speed was terrifying. In the blink of an eye, he crossed the distance and aid straight for the spectacled man’s throat.

A black armored guard appeared in front of him right then.

BANG!

Torin’s attack was stopped with one hand.

His expression changed for the first ti. The guard twisted his wrist, struck his chest with a palm, and sent him sliding back across the ground. Torin caught himself before falling, but blood had already risen to his mouth.

The assassins behind him stiffened. To them, Torin was like a godlike existence, and the only person capable of beating him should have been the king or the guild masters of the great guilds, not so guard.

Torin stared at the guard with disbelief. He had grown powerful enough to make players fear logging in, yet this person had subdued him almost casually.

And the worst part, they were rely subordinates.

Slightly impressed, Gabriel could not help but look at the guard, but he could not make out their face. They were wearing a black mask, clearly not wanting anyone to see their identity.

The spectacled man stepped forward at last and said calmly,

"I did not co here to kill you."

Torin wiped blood from his mouth and glared at him, a mixture of anger and embarrassnt in his eyes.

The man smiled at this. "I have an offer for you, Torin of Black Star. One that benefits both of us."

Without saying a word, Torin stood there with one hand pressed lightly against his chest while his breathing steadied. Even though anger still burned in his eyes, he did not rush forward again. The earlier clash had already told him everything he needed to know.

Whoever these people were, they were not sothing he could deal with by force alone, and the guard who stopped him had done it without effort.

"You expect to listen after that?" he asked, his tone low but controlled.

The spectacled man gave a small shrug. "You already are."

Torin’s fingers twitched once at his side, but he did not deny it. He could tell the difference in strength. A Hero Rank like him should not have been pushed back so easily, yet he had been, and the fact that the man in front of him had not even moved made the gap even clearer.

After a short pause, Torin exhaled through his nose and straightened.

"Speak," he said. "If this wastes my ti, I will still try to kill you."

The man in the suit nodded once as if that answer was enough.

"I need you to remove soone... a player known as White Phantom."

Gabriel’s expression remained cold as he listened.

He had already heard this before, but hearing it directly from the source still made his eyes narrow slightly. The developer had co personally, bringing Deleters, all just to deal with him.

Sohow, the man in the suit had connected White Phantom to Broken Heaven. He did not know how, but the fact that he targeted Torin with this request made it clear. Still, from what Gabriel had seen so far, IceQueen had no idea, for reasons best known to the developer.

Back in the mory, Torin let out a quiet snort.

"So you ca all this way for one player? You could not deal with him yourself?"

The spectacled man smiled faintly. "I could. That is not the point."

"White Phantom has beco a disruption," the man continued. "In the long run, he might beco sothing more troubleso than even the otherworlders you are after."

He raised one hand slightly. One of the black armored figures stepped forward and placed a box on the ground. The lid opened with a soft click, revealing a faint glow from inside.

Torin’s gaze shifted. For the first ti, real interest appeared in his eyes.

The aura coming from the item was heavy. It was not flashy, but it carried a pressure that made even the assassins behind him grow tense. It was the kind of treasure that could push soone forward, not by a small amount, but by an entire level of power.

"A gift," the spectacled man said. "Or an investnt. With that, you will stand among the strongest in this world. Kill White Phantom, and there will be more."

Torin stared at the box for a few seconds.

His anger did not disappear, but the man had clearly captured his attention.

"You want to kill him," Torin said, his voice quieter now.

"Yes," the man replied simply.

A brief silence followed.

Torin stepped forward and stopped in front of the box. He did not touch it imdiately. His eyes moved from the treasure to the man in the suit and back again, weighing sothing in his mind.

Finally, he reached down and closed the lid. "I accept."

The spectacled man’s smile deepened slightly. "When you are done, we will hand over the rest to you."

Because this was Torin’s mory, Gabriel could see through his thoughts.

Torin was not agreeing out of trust, but because he saw an opportunity.

Once White Phantom was gone, once he gained this power and whatever ca after it, there would be nothing left to stop him. Players, otherworlders, even the people standing in front of him now would beco targets eventually.

With that, the spectacled man turned and walked away. Gabriel quickly rushed after him, however, because that was not part of Torin’s mory, everything turned blurry.

The next set of mories were not really important, and soon the mories ended.

Gabriel got up from his mattress back in his room just as the sun filtered through his window.

"I did not find what I was looking for, but now I have an idea what to do," he muttered, a determined gleam shining in his eyes.
