"Master."

Contrary to Gabriel’s expectation, it wasn’t the evaluator—it was Anna.

"I almost forgot about you." Gabriel stepped aside to let her in. "How did your test go?"

"I was told to wait for an evaluation," she said politely as she entered the room and went to stand in the corner.

"By chance, what squad were you assigned to?"

"Elite squad."

Gabriel raised a brow but didn’t appear shocked. After all, Anna was level 50; she was nearly at the sa level as so of the top mbers.

It was only logical that she was placed in the elite squad.

Afterward, Gabriel dismissed her so she could rest in her own room while waiting for her evaluator.

Although she insisted on staying behind to help, Gabriel casually waved it off, saying,

"You need to rest and be in the right ntal state..."

After a bit of hesitation, she bowed her head. "Okay, Master," she said. "My room is next door. If you need anything, please do ask."

"Sure." Gabriel smiled as he watched the Huntress’s back disappear.

He noticed that ever since he gifted Anna the Silver Speed Boots, she had been more eager to serve him.

In fact, she didn’t appear guarded like she was when they first t.

Thanks to the slave collar, he could tell she was genuine and not pretending.

Still, he wouldn’t rely on the collar this early on. She still needed to prove herself.

On the other hand, Anna checked into her own room. It looked exactly like Gabriel’s.

So ti later, Gabriel heard a knock on his door.

Opening it, he found a familiar face staring at him.

"Hi Gabriel, nice to see you again."

A frown appeared on his face. "Alice."

The white-haired beauty, dressed in a tight-fitting black jumpsuit that clung to her body, smiled sweetly. "Yup, I’m the one who’s going to oversee your evaluation."

He raised an eyebrow, his expression filled with doubt.

"What?" Alice pouted. "You think I’m not capable enough to oversee your evaluation?"

"Yes, I think so," he replied bluntly without a mont of hesitation.

A look of irritation crossed her face as she folded her arms against her generous chest. "You really underestimate , don’t you?"

Underestimate? Gabriel didn’t really underestimate her. In fact, he believed Alice was very useful. As an assassin with a rare skill like Blink, she was a nace on any battlefield.

Popping out behind enemies and slitting their throats before they even noticed.

However... there was just one thing.

’She’s not as responsible as Scarlet or Lilly,’ he thought.

"Hey, what’s that look on your face?" Alice demanded with a frown. "What are you thinking? Co on, spit it out!"

’Right, she’s also a talkative.’

"Well, for underestimating , I’ll make sure you get the most difficult mission available! Hmph!" She harrumphed and stomped away.

Gabriel watched her back with a slightly dumbfounded look. Did she actually think she was punishing him by doing that?

"Are you just going to stand there or are you coming?!"

He sighed and followed after her.

They arrived in a white room with a giant LED board displaying the currently available quests.

While Alice was checking for the most difficult quest to get back at Gabriel, Anna was lying down, staring at the ceiling of her room with a dazed look on her face.

She was thinking... thinking about her master and how generous he had been. By now, Anna had already accepted her new life.

Though she was technically a slave, she had more free will than when she was with the Chain of Veylor.

And quite honestly, she didn’t want to return. She’d rather stay by him than go back.

’Which is the most difficult part.’ A concerned look appeared on her face. ’The Chain of Veylor won’t let go just like that, and they’ll probably hunt him for killing their n. It’s only a matter of ti till they co after him.’

Knock Knock

Suddenly, a knock sounded at the door.

"Must be the guild official," she mumbled and went to open it.

"Are you Anna Montreal?" a woman whose face was concealed by a transparent green veil asked politely.

"Y-yes, I am." Anna stuttered, slightly taken aback by the woman’s strange choice of clothing.

"My na is Sophie, and I’ll be the one overseeing your evaluation," the woman said with a smile that didn’t reach her eyes.

Back in the white room, Alice finally found a suitable quest.

"Yes, this one!" she exclaid excitedly.

Gabriel looked at the so-called quest with a bored expression.

___

Gabriel’s eyes glinted with intrigue. "From the description, I guess this quest was issued by the Royal Family or the military. Why couldn’t they do it themselves?"

"General Khaor is a war hero. Naturally, he has the support of the public," Alice said in a serious tone. "They didn’t want people to know they were behind the assassination."

"Hmm. Still, I thought the Adventurer Guild was neutral. I didn’t know they also took jobs ant for an Assassin Guild."

"The Adventurer Guild is a public guild, and the most important thing to us is the Valerian Kingdom," Alice pointed out. "Keeping General Khaor alive will only destroy our kingdom slowly. That’s why the guild has no qualms about getting rid of him."

Gabriel stared at the quest silently for a while before nodding. "I’ll accept it."

Soti later, around midnight, Gabriel and Alice arrived at a gated mansion that was brightly lit.

Several guards wielding different job classes were patrolling the area.

The two watched from a distance.

Alice brought out a tir from her pocket, pressed it, and it beeped loudly.

"Your ti starts now!"
