Levon sliced his finger in one quick, decisive motion. The pain spread through his body almost instantly and was without a doubt the most painful thing he had ever experienced. Blood gushed out of his severed finger in quick succession.

But despite the pain, he was finally able to see clearly and recall the things he needed to do.

The crystal still lay on the floor, untouched. The creature had dissolved into thin air, as though it had never actually been there.

But there was no ti to marvel at anything. Levon quickly picked up the crystal from the floor and rushed straight to the podium.

Without wasting a second, he inserted it into the last remaining hole and pulled out the sword that had been driven right into the center of the podium.

All at once, as though provoked, the entire coven began to crumble — blocks falling away like the structure had always been unstable, waiting for the slightest disturbance to bring it down.

Almost imdiately the gate reappeared at the far end of the cave. Levon took off toward it without hesitation.

Every hallucination that appeared before him dissolved almost instantly; the pain coursing through his body was already powerful enough to suppress them completely.

The mont he reached the door, he leaped through it.

He hit the floor hard, and finally — for the first ti since he had entered the coven — he was able to rember everything that had actually happened. He couldn’t help but glance back at the coven.

He wasn’t sure whether Elizabeth had known that nearly everything she told him would be rendered almost useless by the nature of the coven itself.

Levon turned to look at her. Her face had already gone very pale, and her hair had turned completely white from the sheer strain of holding the door open.

The mont she saw Levon, she imdiately collapsed to the floor, breathing heavily.

The door shut with a thunderous bang.

Levon imdiately rushed to her side to try and help, but the mont he felt her body temperature he recoiled in sharp pain — it was like plunging his hands into a jar of boiling water.

Acting on pure adrenaline, Levon suddenly realized that his own condition was no better. His skin had already turned green, and the poison in his system was on the verge of finishing him off.

Levon imdiately tore through his storage space, crouching on the floor and barely holding himself upright against the effect of the poison.

Finally he found what he was looking for — the only reason he hadn’t already died was his grave ward pendant.

Blood crystals — cure mid-rank poison.

Levon imdiately ingested the first blood crystal, but nothing seed to change. He swallowed the remaining two in quick succession, but still nothing happened.

Just as Levon lay there on the edge of death, the system finally chid.

[You have ingested 3 blood crystals; the poison in your system has been cleared.]

[You have just cleared an S-rank treasure quest. All rewards have been added to your storage space.]

Levon sat up and breathed a long sigh of relief, excitent washing over him in place of the fear that had gripped him monts before.

But just when he thought it was over, another system ssage appeared.

[Congratulations on being the first wielder of the Sword of Oblivion — a high-grade weapon rumored to be capable of breaking into the realm of shadows.]

[Congratulations! You have now acquired a new title — Shadow Monarch.]

Levon stared at the screen in disbelief. He could hardly process what he was seeing.

He rembered from his past life that weapons were asured by grade, and a weapon’s grade played a very significant role in determining how it could be used.

So the concept itself was nothing new — but looking at the sword before him, he couldn’t help but feel a sense of awe that bordered on fear.

For a weapon to be capable of breaking into the domain of shadows, it had to be of a far higher grade than he had originally assud.

If he recalled correctly from his past life, the weapon grading system was ranked as follows:

Common grade

Uncommon grade

Rare

Epic

Mythic

Saint

And finally, Divine grade

Weapons or artifacts from the Epic grade and above typically had the ability to draw life force from their wielders, giving them a faint sense of awareness and allowing them to communicate with whoever carried them — though this depended heavily on the type of weapon and its level.

That was precisely why equipping too many high-grade weapons without sufficiently high spirit stats could easily beco a death sentence.

Levon imdiately checked the grade of every weapon in his inventory.

[Grave Ward Pendant — Uncommon grade]

[Venomous Sword — Rare grade]

[Goblin Armor — Common grade]

[Goblin Axe — Common grade]

[Sword of Oblivion — Saint grade]

Levon’s eyes locked onto the last entry. The Sword of Oblivion was actually a saint-grade weapon.

It was so unbelievable that he closed his system space and reopened it just to confirm what he was seeing.

In his past life, no one had ever managed to obtain even an Epic-grade weapon or artifact. Players who carried a Rare-grade artifact were already considered exceptionally powerful.

And yet here he was, holding a Saint-grade weapon in his hands.

Just as Levon sat lost in thought, Elizabeth slowly began to regain her color. Her hair started shifting back to its original shade, and the deep wrinkles in her skin began to smooth themselves away.

Soon she was back on her feet, fully restored from everything that had happened.

Congratulations! You have just gained reputation points from the Monarch of Death. She is impressed by the feat you have just achieved.

The system ssage appeared clearly before him.

*"Monarch of Death??? Is Elizabeth the... Oh no — this can’t be true."*
