Now reading: Chapter 19: Aria from God's descent: I have 100% mutated drops, a Game novel by FailedGamer101.

The ape imdiately collapsed to the floor, the poison already taking effect.

Within minutes it was dead.

[Congratulations on killing a level 4 forest ape.

40 exp.

All rewards have been added to your storage space.]

*’The sword has really beco incredibly effective — I’m not so sure I’d want to sell it anymore.’*

Levon thought about how much more powerful the sword had gotten since leveling it up.

But that aside, he didn’t really need to sell it either way — though selling it would help clear his storage space for more useful items, since storage space couldn’t be expanded until around level 50.

He would just have to wait until then.

In the anti, Levon’s back ached slightly from the hard fall he had taken, having forgotten to activate the grave ward pendant before engaging the forest ape.

But it didn’t matter much. Levon calmly checked the leaderboard to see if anything had changed, but there were no updates — aning the ape he had just killed hadn’t been carrying any poison hibiscus.

It had only been about five minutes since the tir started, so in all honesty he wasn’t expecting anyone to have found one yet — except himself, obviously.

In his past life, not even all the poison hibiscus were found. Only about 80 percent were ever recovered, and no single player had obtained more than nine. As a result, the buying and selling of poison hibiscus had dominated the online trade house for quite so ti.

Almost imdiately, more apes began making their way toward Levon. He wasn’t sure why — maybe it was the noise from the roars of the one he had just killed, or maybe it was the blood. Either way, he wasn’t waiting around to find out.

Levon calmly activated his grave ward pendant and swung himself up into the branches of a nearby tree.

The apes imdiately began beating against the trunk, but Levon had already mapped out his plan. He swung to the next tree, and before the apes could react, he dropped down from above and sliced one cleanly across the neck before swinging back up.

He was far faster than the apes, so one by one they eventually all went down.

The system notifications kept coming in rapid succession until the very last ape had fallen.

[Congratulations — you have successfully obtained 5 poison hibiscus.]

[Leaderboard Updated.

Shadow Monarch — 50 points

Draven — 5 points

Steve — 2 points

Silver — 1 point]

The leaderboard already looked wildly lopsided. It was clear the points weren’t calculated based purely on the number of poison hibiscus obtained, which made it much harder for anyone to tell exactly how many were still left out there.

In its own way, it was a clever design from the system — giving players a sense of reward even if they hadn’t gathered a significant amount.

*’Well, after killing roughly 30 apes, there’s no reason I shouldn’t be sitting at the top,’* Levon thought as he moved on from the area.

He didn’t even bother checking his storage space — that would serve no real purpose right now. All that mattered was collecting as many poison hibiscus as possible.

After running deeper into the forest for a while, he finally spotted a large cluster of purple hibiscus.

’Jackpot.’

Levon moved toward it with a rush of excitent. All he needed to do now was dig through the plants and separate the poison hibiscus from the ordinary purple ones.

The problem was that the two plants blended together almost perfectly. Even up close they looked nearly identical, which ant Levon was going to have to spend a significant amount of ti sifting through thousands of plants in the field.

Fortunately, Levon already had an idea — a pretty solid one that wouldn’t just make the job easier but would save him a lot of ti.

But just as he moved in closer, he spotted a figure he had completely missed from a distance. She was crouched down, buried among the tall grass and hibiscus, searching for sothing.

"Oh my god, how am I even supposed to find these things? Maybe they’re not even here — I’m probably just wasting my ti," the girl muttered quietly to herself as she squatted and sifted through the plants. She suddenly froze the mont she heard footsteps approaching.

Before Levon could even take another step forward, he felt sothing shift — and before he could process it, the girl had already spun around at frightening speed and fired a volley of arrows directly at him.

Levon imdiately threw himself out of the way as a fury of arrows missed him by a hair’s width.

’She is absolutely insane — yes, completely insane,’* Levon thought, catching his breath among the tall grass.

But before he could even recover, an arrow was already aid directly at his head.

"This field is mine. Go find sowhere else to hunt monsters or do whatever you want. You should be thankful I spared your life — now get lost," the girl said, her voice sharp and rough, like she had far too many other things to get to.

But Levon recognized the voice imdiately. He just needed to confirm his suspicion before jumping to any conclusions.

"And what if I refuse? I think you should be the one thanking — because if I wanted you dead, you would have been long gone before..."

But before Levon could even finish his sentence, Aria had already fired three arrows straight at his head.

"I told you to leave. I don’t have ti for this — and now you’re dead. You have no one to bla but yourself."

"And who decided that?" Levon’s voice rang out calmly just as Aria was turning to continue her search.

Aria turned around slowly, but what she saw genuinely stopped her cold.
