On seeing the ssage, absolute chaos broke out as everyone in the arena tried their best to kill as many creatures as they could.

In those last few seconds, so humans fell at the hands of other humans.

Levon breathed in relief; he gripped his sword tighter without even noticing. In his last life it was ten million; this ti around it was well above that.

The numbers were the sa; it was just the survival rate that had dropped slightly.

Levon took a deep breath as a white transparent light enveloped them almost imdiately.

He could feel the warm sensation washing over him and covering him whole.

[The Starter City]

Levon rembered this city clearly; it was developed but surrounded by a thick forest that grew out on all sides.

Without a word, he moved on his way.

Through the city and into the forest.

He knew exactly what was coming next, and just as he had guessed, the next system ssage confird it.

[Welco to the Starter City. Your next mission is to collect as many system stones as you can within the space of one month. There will be a leaderboard. The first person to collect up to 10,000 power stones ends the ga imdiately.]

[Only the top 30 percent in this village will move on; the rest will be eliminated.]

Levon read the ssages one after another, and it was all clear.

He had anticipated this in his last life; if not for a friend who had gifted him system stones, he might not have made it through.

Levon stared deep into the forest.

’The starter forest,’ he whispered with a smile.

Levon knew this task too well. Despite how straightforward it seed, it was anything but easy, it really wasn’t.

Not all creatures dropped system stones in his past life; in fact, it was the rarest item on the loot table in the starter village.

But one thing was certain: if a monster did drop them, it dropped a large amount, sotis a hundred, sotis fifty. It generally depended on the type of monster.

And of course, one’s luck.

Levon nodded to himself.

All he needed now was to gather enough coins and pay for a bloodline awakening. With a bloodline, one is given 1,000 system stones, sothing most players had no idea about.

And beyond the stones, a bloodline was extrely important for another reason: it determined what skills you could obtain in the future. Skills were locked to bloodlines, so even if a creature dropped one, the system would nullify it without a compatible bloodline. Without one, skills were essentially useless like trying to drive without a car.

Levon bowed his head in thought. In his last life, he had awakened the bloodline of the Thunder God, so his abilities and skills always revolved around thunder and flas.

And yet even that wasn’t enough. He was killed in the second trial of God’s Descent the farthest any human had ever co in his past life.

He might have been on the brink of becoming a demigod back then, but that was all in the past.

Levon opened his storage space.

The only thing he needed to do now was put the past behind him and focus on gathering enough coins for the bloodline awakening.

[Congratulations, you have received new system items. Add them to storage space, or discard them. The sell option is not available at this ti.]

Levon quickly accepted. There was no loss in accepting, and even if there were trash rewards, nothing was unsellable, not to ntion that the online trading house was about to go live in a few minutes.

With that in mind, Levon finally opened his storage space.

[All items in the creature’s loot table have been dropped.

Mutated Drops Processing...]

Levon’s attention shifted for a mont as he began hearing footsteps approaching him.

[Mutation Results]

Poison Stone (Grade I)

Poison effects now spread slightly upon a successful hit.

chanical Stone

→ Mutation Failed.

The item remains unchanged.

Skeleton Pendant

→ Graveward Pendant

(Rare Mutation)

Effect:

Fortification increased to 60%.

Damage taken partially converts into stamina recovery.

His eyes narrowed as he read through the system ssages.

Why did it say "failed" for the chanical stone when other items like the power-up potion weren’t even listed in the mutation results?

"Fresh at staring at nus already? You think stats make you dangerous?" a voice rang out from behind.

Levon turned and t his gaze, a fat, huge man with a thick beard.

Levon rembered him well; he went around with a group of boys who served him like he was so kind of god.

Levon couldn’t recall his na because he had never bothered to find out; the man wasn’t that important to him.

All he knew was that he was a shaless bully. He and his crew usually surrounded lone players and stripped them of all their resources and copper coins.

Sotis they even killed so of them.

Levon wasn’t angry; whatever disgusting things the man got up to was his business. He just wanted to leave; he had a lot to do.

"And where do you think you’re going? Have you paid your toll?"

Levon was shoved from behind by a large hand over his shoulder.

He shot them a cold, unbothered look, as if he had no ti for any of this nonsense.

Then Paul spotted another lone player further into the forest and decided to leave Levon alone for the ti being.

"You scumbag, I’m coming for you," he called out as they hurried deeper into the forest after the boy.

Levon watched them go with disgust before turning back to his system.

He quickly tapped on the stats panel.

[Player Status]

Na: Levon

Level: 4 — 360/1000

Strength: 20 ( 25)

Agility: 25 ( 20)

Vitality: 22 ( 10)

Spirit: 14 ( 15)

Luck: 14 ( 8)

Combat Power: 95 ( 100)

All stats appeared to have increased normally.

Levon closed the panel and opened his inventory.

Among all the items listed, he picked out the venomous sword.

He was curious about its stats, since he still couldn’t quite explain its weakness in combat.

[Venomous Sword]

Details:

A level three sword that poisons creatures with one lethal strike.

Strength: 31

Constitution: 41

Effect: 80

Levon’s mouth dropped; that explained it perfectly.

The sword wasn’t built for fighting, it was built for killing.

Just as Levon was still turning that thought over in his head, a fireball shot past him, missing his face by only a few centiters.

He spun around instantly.
