Huyan Yichen was ready in five minutes. He told Feng Wu that she could go to court now.
As expected…
Huyan Yichen was a capable man. He escorted Feng Wu to the eldest prince.
The prince was surprised to see Feng Wu, but with his capability, he could arrange for Feng Wu to stay with him. “Just pretend to be my maid,” said the prince.
Feng Wu nodded.
However, he was still curious. “Why are you in such a hurry to go to court in the middle of the night?”
Feng Wu said simply, “I’m waiting for someone.”
The prince asked, “Who are we waiting for?”
Feng Wu smiled. “Your Patriarch, of course.”
Both the prince and Huyan Yichen stared at Feng Wu in astonishment.
They trusted Feng Wu’s capability, so they knew that she wasn’t lying. If she said she was waiting for something, she probably was.
“The Patriarch will be here today? How…” The prince shook his head. Feng Wu glanced at him and said, “Keep an eye on your father tonight.” The prince’s stomach lurched. “My father…”
Before Feng Wu could say anything, she heard an anxious voice a short distance away.
“Master, quickly, e to the plum garden…” It was a young eunuch sent by the eldest prince.
The prince couldn’t help but glance at Feng Wu.
Feng Wu nodded. “I’m ing with you.”
The prince was about to say something when Feng Wu grinned. “I’m a good doctor. I’m a Semi-divine medicine refiner.” Gosh!
Both the prince and Huyan Yichen coughed.
Huyan Yichen said grumpily, “I would believe you if you said you were a
Supreme Level medicine refiner, but a Semi-divine one? Don’t make me laugh.”
Feng Wu shrugged. She wasn’t joking this time, but the others didn’t believe her. Fine.
The prince quickly led Feng Wu toward Lady Mei’s courtyard. Before they entered, they heard Lady Mei sobbing.
“I have no idea…
“His Majesty just suddenly… It was all my fault…”
She kept talking between broken sobs.
Because of the fire in the study and the sudden stroke of the Northern Yan king, the imperial palace was in a mess.
Many physicians were already treating the king when the prince went in, but they were all too terrified to do anything.
Although the king had had a stroke, he was still conscious. He was staring at them with his terrifying eyes.
The queen didn’t expect this either…
She had never expected that the potion would give the king a stroke!
As a matter of fact, the king hadn’t appointed an heir yet, and the Patriarch had never mentioned that Princess Rao had gained his support. The princess had always been the one to talk about it.
However, the officials were obviously on the prince’s side. Therefore, it wouldn’t do Princess Rao any good if the king died.
The queen’s face was livid, and the look she gave Princess Rao was rather frightening.
Princess Rao was dumbfounded.
Wasn’t it a Semi-divine potion? She had spent a small fortune on it to keep her father unconscious for a few days. That way, all eyes would be on her father’s illness, and no one would bother him over such a petty matter.
It was all part of Princess Rao’s plan, but the king was indeed sick. He had a stroke and was physically paralyzed. However, his eyes were so wide open that he looked like he wanted to eat someone alive..
