While Urdusin was busy questioning reality, the uncle of a certain young progenitor was sighing to himself as he spoke to his sister beside him.
"The two of you are so alike.
You both like using that technique to confuse your opponents in one-on-one fights."
"It’s very efficient and takes requires no energy to use.
Why would I not use it?"
Cattleya replied to her brother as she watched her son use the sa technique he had used on the poor instructor on the day of his academy entrance exams.
"So, you’re the one who taught him that, huh? It’s very useful."
Lucifer’s Vestige spoke upon hearing her reply, nodding to himself as he instantly discerned what Arthur was doing from his breathing and footwork.
’Slipping into his opponent’s unconsciousness and making it so their brain classifies his movents as ’unnecessary’ information until the mont before the attack.
The water falling from the sky is just a distraction to give his brain a few more things to process.’
"It was actually this idiot brother who taught him but I would have done it if he didn’t."
Cattleya spoke while yawning unceremoniously, causing Creusery to sigh as he moved her hand to cover her mouth.
While this was happening, Arthur had returned to battling Urdusin normally, not giving the man a chance to discover the reason why he could not trace the boy’s movents a few monts before.
He was on guard in case Arthur did the sa thing again, but that was pointless as Arthur still used the sa trick once more and delivered a punch to his chest that cracked more than just a few ribs.
His squad mbers wanted to interfere but he held out a hand for them to stop before raising his head upwards and glancing at Arthur who was cracking his neck.
The boy then took a deep breath and activated the second power he wanted to test; one he had gotten years ago but never bothered to use since then.
A red cluster of energy grew approximately ten centitres from his mouth, condensing rapidly until it was a pillar of light shooting through the air.
It was an action that made his mother who was watching to scream out words similar to the ones Arthur had exclaid on the day he first saw this ability in action.
"You’re a godslayer, not a fucking dragon!"
**BOOM
**CRRRACK!
There was a small explosion, one that had Urdusin’s squad fleeing for their lives, followed by the sound of the bounded field’s barrier cracking as the beam of destructive light tore through the essence of space that covered the barrier.
And the only reason this was possible, was because of the essence of destruction that Arthur had unconsciously imbued into the attack.
Looking at the broken barrier in the distance, Cattleya frowned involuntarily, sothing Creusery noticed and instantly deduced the reason for after glancing at Arthur’s surprised face.
"Calm down, Leya."
"...I’m calm."
"No, you are clearly not."
Lucifer’s Vestige looked at the two with raised eyebrows, only for Cattleya to turn and give him a death glare.
"...what?"
Seeing the confused Vestige and realising that Cattleya had no intention of explaining herself, Creusery took the liberty of explaining for him.
Summing it down, the reason was because of sothing that Cattleya had not wanted Arthur to do ever since she discovered he could comprehend the powers of laws.
"And that thing was to comprehend the destructive trio."
"I recall Arthur using that term before.
I believe it referred to the laws of Destruction, Annihilation and Extinction?"
"Yes, those three.
She did not want him to comprehend all three at once because of the influence they would have on him and his personality."
"....
You are afraid of him being unable to control the destructive impulses that the knowledge of the three laws would cause in the user?"
"..."
Cattleya’s silence to Lucifer’s question was enough to give the vestige an idea of why she was annoyed at him, after all, he was the one who made Arthur complete the trio by giving him a crystal with the law of Annihilation contained within.
"I see.
If you are this bothered now, then what would you do when he begins to delve into laws like that of Entropy? And he begins to form his aspects and dictums?"
"Dictums? What are those?"
Cattleya’s ears perked up as she heard Lucifer’s Vestige utter a strange term she was unaware of, but the man only brushed her off with a vague answer.
"Sothing he’d do when he inevitably becos a Firmant.
Anyway, that’s not important now.
What is, is that you do not have faith in your son’s ability to control the laws he comprehends."
"I do, I’m just considering the worst-case scenarios.
After all, even I have tis when I lapse in control."
The Archdevil’s words just answered the question of why she sotis randomly laid waste to ’innocent’ planets within her vicinity.
It was simply to calm the destructive impulses that the trinity of the laws of Destruction, Annihilation and Extinction were giving her.
"We both know that most of the ti, it’s of your own will rather than the fault of the powers of the laws."
Creusery spoke with narrowed eyes, causing her to look to the side and whistle suspiciously, inadvertently confirming his words.
"Bottom line it, have more faith in Arthur.
He would not lose control easily, he’s your son after all."
"mhmm..."
The woman only replied with a hum before shooting towards Arthur and interrupting his ’spar’ with Urdusin that had turned into a ga of him chasing the latter with his dragon breath rune.
On a side note, the appearance of the ten-winged devil who Arthur referred to as his mother made Urdusin scared shitless as the legends of his country stated that devils with more than two pairs of wings were already powerful enough to combat the deities they worshipped.
A devil with five pairs of wings was sothing that neither he nor any of his squad mbers ever believed they were going to see in their whole lives.
Also, Arthur did fulfil his promise and tell them what happened to the poor Gorilla who t its death at Cattleya’s hands shortly after the woman broke up the fight, but it seed that the shock of seeing a ten-winged devil with their own two eyes was so great that they could barely register his words.
