Watching Basel walk into Renault’s office, Xu Xiangbei showed a smug smile.
Not long after, Basel and Gu Xiangyi ca out of Mr. Renault’s office together, smiling and exchanging a few words in French.
As they passed by Xu Xiangbei, Basel nodded amicably at him, thanking him for the reminder.
Xu Xiangbei chuckled inwardly; he had lied about Renault needing Basel, and it turned out to be true.
Generally, company leaders will find sothing to do, even if there’s nothing; they’ll find sothing for subordinates to work on. Basel walked right into the trap, thinking Renault really needed him.
Gu Xiangyi gently hooked Xu Xiangbei’s arm and, seeing his look of secret joy, batted her long eyelashes curiously, asking, "What makes you so happy, won the lottery?"
Xu Xiangbei smiled aningfully, "Almost like winning the lottery."
Xu Xiangbei and Gu Xiangyi left the European Union Business Building and saw Jenny standing at the entrance as they exited.
Jenny was evidently waiting for him, her radiant and beautiful face showing a grateful smile as she made a phone gesture with her hand, indicating for Xu Xiangbei to call her.
They bought a bowl of Häagen-Dazs ice cream at the roadside ice cream parlor and sat on a bench by the roadside, eating with great relish.
Xu Xiangbei said to Gu Xiangyi, "Finished with business, are we heading back to Jiangcheng?"
Gu Xiangyi gently rested her head on Xu Xiangbei’s broad shoulder: "Since I’m here, I want to visit my sister and see how the living assistant you arranged for her is doing. What’s the assistant’s na again?"

Upon seeing her sister co, Gu Xinyan started her wheelchair and slowly approached her sister, her pale face blushing with excitent.
"Sister, you ca! Did you find Brother Xu?"

A sharp whistle sounded from the studio, and Gu Xinyan smiled: "Sister, the director is calling us. Co to the villa tonight, and we’ll have a good chat."
Humming a tune, Xu Xiangbei walked over, hands playfully placed on Gu Xinyan’s shoulder: "Good little sister, did you miss ?"
Gu Xinyan brushed off his hand, dismissing him: "Brother, we already saw each other this morning. Your charm isn’t at the level to make miss you."
"Sister, I’m driving back to Jiangcheng later and won’t be staying here tonight."
Gu Xinyan’s expression was calm: "Once this film wraps, I’ll go back to Jiangcheng and have fun with you. It’s been a long ti since us sisters have gathered together."
After visiting Gu Xinyan, Gu Xiangyi and Xu Xiangbei bid farewell to her and took the Porsche Lightning straight onto the highway, returning to Jiangcheng. As he watched Gu Xiangyi and Lightning disappear from view, Xu Xiangbei felt a tinge of reluctance.
When Xu Xiangbei drove back to Emperor’s Pavilion, most of the guests had already left. To his surprise, the Zhou family father and son, once bullied by Boss Peng and seeing him as a Demon, were now huddled with Boss Peng at the table, having a heated discussion.
Shen Congru, dressed in a blue Prada suit, was quietly sitting at a nearby table with his sister, Chu Xiaoran.
However, the two were craning their necks towards the door, their eyes anxious, seemingly waiting for sothing. Upon seeing Xu Xiangbei arrive, they both brightened up as if seeing a savior, smiling in unison.
Xu Xiangbei smiled and said to Shen Congru, "Sorry, sothing ca up last minute, and I couldn’t join everyone for drinks. I’ll make it up another day. Why haven’t you gone back, Young Master Shen?"
Shen Congru and Chu Xiaoran’s eyes turned to Boss Peng.
Seeing Xu Xiangbei arrive, Boss Peng slapped the table, a bit tipsy, his voice booming: "Doctor Xu, you’re just in ti. I have sothing to discuss with you."

Xu Xiangbei laughed and sat at the table, glancing at everyone’s faces and guessing the situation almost completely.

Xu Xiangbei felt relieved, understanding why Boss Peng had been at odds with the Zhou family father and son; this was the underlying reason.
