"?"

Lin Chen originally thought he was just joking, but now he unexpectedly said this with a face full of regret.

He was stunned for a mont, then seed to realize sothing.

No way, this old guy was planning this all along?

The key is, Lin Chen had no way to respond to this.

How should he respond?

Say it’s fine, just pay the money?

Say I don’t need your supply?

The forr hurts financially, the latter hurts feelings.

The current market for fish offal around here is practically zero, but that doesn’t an it will always be zero.

There will always be diners who are willing to try it.

Thinking of this, he couldn’t help but see Boss Magna in a new light.

Originally, he thought this old guy was just a glutton, but now it seems, no successful entrepreneur is simple.

Supplying him with free fish offal may seem like Lin Chen is gaining, but actually, the biggest benefit goes to Magna himself.

On one hand, he can further solidify his position as a seafood supplier, preventing Lin Chen from considering others.

On the other hand, the fish offal has no cost, so giving it away doesn’t hurt, there’s no expense, and he earns goodwill in return.

Lastly.

He can also openly co to eat for free.

It’s like killing three birds with one stone!

Realizing the reason behind it all, Lin Chen could only sigh helplessly, eat a couple more bites of rice, and nod in agreent.

[Ding, the Childhood Street Food Challenge (II) is complete, calculating results...]

[A total of 1642 dishes sold, with 1517 good reviews, a favorable rate of 92.39%, challenge successful!]

Just then, the system’s calculation prompt rang in his head, which was good news, though the reward was ordinary, just a Recipe Exchange Coupon.

But he wasn’t mainly running a stall for these rewards; it’s fine if he gets them, but it doesn’t matter if he doesn’t, as long as he makes money.

His mindset is very calm now; running a stall is just about making money.

The tasks are just added bonuses; if he really can’t complete them, that’s fine, he can take on challenges later if he’s free.

"If I rember correctly, last ti when I made fried chicken fillet, I got a Food Truck Upgrade Card as a reward, how co there’s nothing this ti?"

"Could it be because the food truck was upgraded, reducing the task difficulty? No, it should be that the difficulty of other task challenges increased, making the overall task difficulty seem lower, hence the reduced rewards."

He speculated about the system’s reward model, gradually understanding that he should consider these low-reward tasks as backups.

When he doesn’t know what to do, he can just pick one and do it, earn so money, since the production difficulty isn’t high, it’s like taking a break.

After eating, there was still half a pot of fish soup left in the pot, the fish offal was cleaned out, leaving only so fish pieces and roe in the soup.

Magna unceremoniously packed all the fish soup to take away and also asked Lin Chen for a few packs of instant noodles.

Originally, he wanted rice, but Magna ate all there was in the pot, and cooking more would take ti, so Lin Chen recomnded pasta to him.

But Magna had never cooked pasta before and was afraid of ssing it up, so he switched to instant noodles.

As soon as he left, a police car drove in from the intersection and steadily stopped at the hotel entrance.

Turion had just opened the car door intending to get out, but seeing the puzzled looks from a few strolling tourists nearby, he realized sothing and hurriedly retracted his foot, drove to the restaurant’s parking lot to park, then stepped out with a briefcase.

"(Sniff sniff)"

"Hmm, what a fragrant aroma!"

His nose twitched, a light fishy aroma lingered in the air.

It wasn’t the sll of fried fish or butter-coated fish, but a peculiar aroma he’d never slled before.

Looking around, he imdiately spotted the big red food truck not far away.

It seed like soone was busy inside, bending over.

Turion clutched his briefcase, glanced at his watch, hesitated for a mont, but decided to finish the formal business first.

"Why is there a police car, could sothing have happened?"

"Who knows, I haven’t heard any news."

"Shh... keep it down, do you want trouble?!"

The air was filled with the sparse discussions from tourists, and he had to force a faint smile on his face to avoid unnecessary trouble.

He went straight to the front desk.

"Hello Miss, may I ask how to get to the General Manager’s office? I have so business to discuss with Mr. Wang."

"Uh..."

The young lady at the front desk looked at him nervously, her voice a bit shaky: "Hello, Officer, may I ask if you have an appointnt?"

"Appointnt?"

Turion was taken aback and shook his head.

"No, I thought only office buildings needed appointnts. You guys need them too, huh?"

"Let call Mr. Wang then."

"Phew... "

The receptionist beauty saw him imdiately take out his phone and step aside, slumping into her chair with relief.

"That scared to death. So this is what it’s like to face the police."

"I just thought he’d pull out a gun and point it at your head. You’re brave for not answering his question directly!"

"Stop talking about it, I’m still young and don’t want to die..."

"Uh, you two."

Out of nowhere, Turion was back at the counter, startling the two of them to almost scream, their faces going pale.

"You should watch less horror movies or news reports and videos about disturbances in your spare ti. We’re not like those trigger-happy Yankees."

Turion was evidently a bit irritated, but his tone remained mild as he pointed at the phone.

"I just asked, and Mr. Wang happens to be in the office. He told to go straight up. You should receive the notice soon, so I won’t disturb your work any longer."

"O-Okay! Officer, take care!"

Just as the words were spoken, the front desk phone rang.

It was indeed the general manager’s office code.

Wang Ziqin was already waiting by the office door, waving with a smile as he saw him walk out of the elevator.

"Mr. Turion, this way."

"Sorry to disturb Mr. Wang’s work. I didn’t realize an appointnt was necessary... my oversight."

"Appointnt, my ass. I’m usually free. Only if there’s an event might I not be here. Otherwise, just give a call."

After a brief exchange of pleasantries, Wang Ziqin gently closed the office door.

His expression suddenly turned serious.

"So, what’s the result?"

Turion took out a stack of docunts from his briefcase and handed them over: "Like I told you last ti, we’ve tried to pass judgnt according to the harshest penalties possible."

"According to the investigation, these people have committed theft in this area and surrounding places more than a dozen tis. They’re habitual offenders, but there haven’t been any cases of injury nor a criminal record in that regard."

"Based on the interrogation results, the reason they acted that way towards Mr. Wang’s wife was partly because they had been under constant stress for over six months and were on the verge of breaking down at any mont."

"Additionally, the stolen amount wasn’t significant, and the split share wasn’t enough to feed themselves. Plus, language barriers made reselling stolen goods difficult, further complicating their survival situation."

"And then there’s the fact that Mr. Wang’s wife is extraordinarily beautiful and has a figure beyond ordinary people’s. At the ti of the incident, she was in loose pajamas, which easily led them to lose rationality."

Saying this, Turion was at a loss for words.

"But these Sakura people are too timid. Despite their numbers, they didn’t have the ability to fight back; they only dared to threaten with knives and got counter-killed... tch."

"That’s just the kind of people they are."

A flash of viciousness passed through Wang Ziqin’s eyes, "They act all confident on the surface but lack any real backbone. They bully the weak but back down when faced with soone stronger, begging for rcy."

"After all, Sakura’s origin is from criminals exiled by us Ancient Great Xia People; they’re descendants of felons."

"Oh?"

Turion raised an eyebrow, showing interest in the topic, but as a local sheriff, he couldn’t afford to spend too long privately with a foreign businessman.

He imdiately pointed to the file in Wang’s hand.

"Let’s leave it at that, Mr. Wang. Check if there’s any issue with this case report. If not, please sign it. Is your wife around too? She’ll need to sign as well."

"She is, I’ll call her down."

The entire process went smoothly; the couple showed no peculiar emotional state, as if they had already put the incident behind them.

"In that case, I won’t stay any longer. If anything troubling cos up in the future, call directly, though it has to be during working hours. Otherwise, please contact the police directly, and my colleagues will arrive as soon as possible."

After signing the docunt, Turion got up imdiately to take his leave.

"Tsk, foreign police actually have working hours?"

"What else?"

Wang Ziqin gently wrapped his arms around the woman’s slender waist from behind, speaking softly.

"Only our Great Xia’s police are truly at the people’s service 24/7; other countries’ police are just employees with a little more authority. Don’t expect them to serve the people; it’s good enough if they don’t exploit them."

"If we weren’t wealthy and influential, do you think soone of a captain’s rank would co here in person to deliver docunts? He’s just trying to establish good relations with us."

As he spoke, a trace of danger flashed in Wang Ziqin’s eyes, hidden from the woman’s view.

"They’ll only be held locally for a while since it’s just theft with a small amount. Eventually, they’ll be sent back for a second trial back in their country."

"It’s really too lenient. Being held there is like staying in a hotel."

"What the hell?? Is it that easy?"

"Being a humanitarian country, there are plenty of ridiculous rules, but I’ve already handled the arrangents. They won’t co out losing at least ten pounds!"

Stepping out of the hotel entrance, Turion breathed a sigh of relief. He wasn’t adept at dealing with these international businessn, especially those from Great Xia.

He looked at the red food truck not far away and shook his head.

"Whatever, let’s see if there’s anything to eat first. I’ve been working since morning without lunch; I heard the head chef’s skills are decent here."
