Originally, Law just wanted to ask Ging if he knew Pe and see if he could get Elena and Jed to help out.
But by sheer coincidence, he ended up learning that Pe was the technical advisor for Greed Island, which is an unexpected surprise.
With that kind of connection, Law felt getting Pe to back off shouldn't be too hard.
"Anyway, since you know Pe, this should be easy," Law said happily.
"There's nothing I can do to help you." Ging said.
"What do you an?" Law asked puzzledly.
"Exactly what I said. I may know Pe, but he's not the type to do favors just because you ask. If I had to compare him to sothing, he's like the Piyo Fairy from the Miracle Witch ga."
Ging likened Pe to an NPC from a certain ga.
The Piyo Fairy was an important NPC in Miracle Witch.
The player-controlled protagonist had to navigate through a maze but couldn't find a way out. To escape, they needed the Piyo Fairy's guidance—but the catch was that they had to play a ga with the fairy and win.
Law knew that the Hunter x Hunter World had a fairly developed internet, with RPG-style online and single-player gas flourishing.
People like Milluki, who ca from the Zoldyck Family, were avid gars, and Ging himself was also a gaming enthusiast. This showed that computer gas in the Hunter x Hunter World weren't lacking in quality.
However, Law had no clue about the Miracle Witch ga Ging ntioned, let alone who the Piyo Fairy was. His interactions with computers and the internet were strictly for research or gathering intel when necessary… not for gaming.
"Explain it more clearly," Law said helplessly.
"What, you've never played Miracle Witch?" Ging sounded genuinely shocked.
"Is it weird that I haven't?" Law retorted.
"Of course it is! You've been using the internet for a while now, and Miracle Witch is one of the hottest gas in recent years." Ging said seriously.
Law sighed, feeling like Ging was deliberately beating around the bush. He decided to pull out his trump card: "If you keep ssing around like this, I might just go and get myself a Greed Island qualification to 'have so fun' inside."
He emphasized the words 'have so fun' heavily.
For Ging, this seemingly harmless threat was a real dealbreaker. If Law were to enter Greed Island and start causing chaos, it would be an absolute disaster.
"Fine."
Ging chuckled lightly before turning serious, "To put it simply, asking to talk him out of it won't work. The only way to get him to do sothing is by beating him in a 'ga'."
"When my team and I were developing Greed Island, we ran into a technical issue, and he was the one who solved it for us."
Upon hearing this, Law asked, "So you beat him in a 'ga', and that's how he beca Greed Island's technical advisor?"
"Not entirely. The first ga we played was to solve that technical issue. After I won, he effortlessly fixed the problem. Then, realizing how skilled he was, I challenged him to a second ga to make him Greed Island's technical advisor."
Law felt like he'd caught onto the key point and pressed further, "So does that an he's terrible at 'gas'?"
"No no no, to be precise, it's that my gaming skills are simply unmatched." Ging said narcissistically.
"Enough, just help contact him." Law demanded.
The Internet in the Hunter x Hunter World wasn't so simple. As one of the channels for information flow, powerful hacking skills were an incredibly useful ability.
Forget just gathering intel… if you wanted to build a major website, you truly needed a skilled programr.
After learning part of Pe's background, Law's first thought was to recruit him. But upon further consideration, that seed unrealistic. After all, soone like Ging wouldn't have just let such a talented person remain a re technical advisor if he had discovered them.
Most likely, being a hands-off technical advisor who only helped solve difficult problems was Pe's bottom line for maintaining his freedom.
Taking it a step further, the chances of actually recruiting Pe were probably slim.
But if Pe's hacking skills were truly top-tier, then there was no need to recruit him outright… having him as a technical advisor would suffice. The only condition was beating him in a ga first.
Hearing Law's request, Ging replied, "Contacting him is easy. Just post a ssage online, sothing like, 'I'm the world's fastest Super Mario speedrunner'. Even if you post it in so obscure corner of the internet, he'll be the first to reach out to you."
Law fell silent, thinking, 'What kind of nonsense is this? And did the Hunter x Hunter World even have Super Mario?'
"By the way, I currently hold the world record for that." Ging added smugly.
"I see what I need to do." Law said, feeling like he'd just had his horizons broadened.
"Honestly, I don't think you stand a chance. That guy is practically a resident of the digital world… a top-tier Single-Star Hacker Hunter. In my opinion, he's the undisputed best in his field." Ging said.
Law remained calm. "Even if Elena and Eta tead up and still couldn't beat him, I'd naturally assu his skills are terrifying. But what does that have to do with gaming skills? If it's Super Mario, I might have so experience."
"Oh? Soone like you, who barely cares about gas, has actually played Super Mario?" Ging sounded very surprised.
"Sorry to disappoint you, but I've played a few gas here and there." Law said with a smirk. That said, he wasn't entirely sure if Super Mario in the Hunter x Hunter World was the sa as the one from Earth.
Besides, he'd had a childhood too. Not just Super Mario… he'd played almost every cartridge ga out there, including Nintendo's classics.
"Alright," Ging said, pausing briefly before continuing, "Hacking skills and gaming skills aren't inherently connected, but Pe is an exception. To him, the highest level of hacking is gaming skill."
"Long story short, he's not an easy opponent. And honestly, I don't think you should waste your ti and energy on him."
"He's not the type to be swayed by benefits. The reason he attacked your Lawlin Museum's website was probably just because its structure intrigued him."
"Chances are, the data attacks were just surface-level actions. In reality, he's probably already quietly combed through your entire database."
"If that's the case, once he's gotten the data, he wouldn't keep harassing your site. Most likely, the ongoing attacks are just automated 'bot programs' he wrote. And don't worry… he wouldn't leak the data he took."
At this point, Ging's tone turned pitying: "Assuming that's true… well, it's a pretty harsh reality. So it's best not to tell your tech guy."
Law fell quiet again, 'If the culprit behind Milluki losing ten pounds in a month turned out to be nothing more than a bot program, then yeah… that would be a brutal truth. Better not tell Milluki.'
After chatting with Ging a bit longer, Law finally hung up.
He'd gotten plenty of information from Ging but hadn't revealed his own plans.
If what Ging said was true, if Pe had already taken the data, then even if he wouldn't misuse it, it was still theft.
No matter how highly Ging spoke of Pe, Law still intended to confront him. Besides, he wanted Pe as his own technical advisor.
Later, during the few days Alluka was confined, Illumi's research into the [Wish] ability yielded so concrete results.
At the sa ti, because of the Alluka's incident, Silva began making plans to send Killua to Heavens Arena.
