What Should Not Be Seen

"Born with Divine Ice Bones... haha. Junior Fellow Brother Leon, you truly picked up a treasure."

Maya’s lips curved into a soft smile — elegant on the surface, yet threaded with regret beneath it.

She couldn’t stop the bitter thought creeping through her chest.

If I had insisted back then... if I had chosen her...

That divine bone, that dazzling future — it could have been hers to polish, hers to shape. Instead, the heavens had tossed that fortune gently into Leon’s hands.

Unwillingness gnawed at her.

She knew Leon’s reputation too well — the forgotten teacher of Athyst Summit Division, the man the entire Celestis Academy had mocked for years. To leave such a rare divine bone under his care felt... wrong.

Wasteful.

And yet, Selena stood here — calm, radiant, holding the Athyst Mist Sword as if it belonged in her hand since birth.

The more Maya thought about it, the tighter frustration coiled in her ribs.

How hateful... that day, so many teachers stood there — and not one of us noticed the hidden Divine Ice Bone inside her.

Leon rely watched Maya, his purple eyes half-lidded, unreadable. He didn’t bother offering excuses. He didn’t even show interest in explaining.

Silence, for him, was disdain.

Maya folded her arms lightly.

"However, there is sothing I still don’t understand. How did she reach the Onyx Realm in just five days after entering the academy?"

Her tone was steady — but curiosity sharpened each word.

Divine Ice Bones were extraordinary.

But five days?

That was beyond reason.

There had to be sothing more.

Sana’s heart skipped.

"Onyx Realm?"

Her chest tightened. She had struggled five days just to climb to the first star of Mana Requirent.

She had actually planned on boasting to Selena today — one small win, finally — but instead she felt as if soone had smacked her across the face.

Her pride crumbled.

So I’m the clown.

All those years... every ti she thought she would surpass Selena, fate simply stepped ahead again.

She swallowed hard and rushed forward, grabbing Selena’s hand.

"Selena, you... you really reached the Onyx Realm?"

Selena’s lips curved slightly. Quiet. Composed. Deep inside, though, a faint amusent flickered.

Everyone believed she had been ruined by choosing Athyst Summit Division.

None of them knew what Leon truly gave.

She nodded gently.

"Teacher has treated very well. Yesterday, he passed ten years of cultivation to . That allowed to break through into the Onyx Realm at the first star."

Sana froze.

"This... how is that possible?"

Her voice trembled, her expression darkening.

Maya stopped breathing for a heartbeat.

"What — imparting cultivation?"

Her brows knit tightly together as she turned her gaze fully onto Leon.

He sat there with calm serenity, as though what had just been said held no significance at all.

He was actually willing... to pass his own cultivation to his student?

Then another thought struck her.

Wasn’t he only at Onyx Realm, second star?

If he imparted ten years, that ant...

A total waste.

Her mind raced.

Her Wisdom Eye flared to life, peering through the veil of mana around Leon — quietly, carefully.

A heartbeat later —

She hit a wall.

A frightening force rebounded against her consciousness.

Her breath caught. Shock darted along her spine.

That power...

It wasn’t weaker than hers.

In fact, it carried a depth that felt ancient — restrained — terrifyingly stable.

Maya finally understood.

"Junior Fellow Brother Leon, you truly hid your strength well. I almost let myself be fooled by you. I thought you really only had two stars in the Onyx Realm. You’ve deceived thoroughly."

Leon’s mouth curved — almost lazily.

"I never said I had two stars in the Onyx Realm. All of you simply assud. That has nothing to do with ."

Her lips twitched.

Annoyingly... that logic was flawless.

Suddenly, the entire trip felt unnecessary.

Why was I even worried about Selena’s future?

With a teacher who hid oceans of strength beneath still waters —with soone willing to risk himself, to impart ten years of cultivation —

She didn’t need Maya.

And Maya knew it.

A slow burn of irritation rose in her chest.

All because of this silly girl dragging here... just for humiliation.

Did they need her supposed "rcy"?Not in the slightest.

Even if she wanted such a teacher — she probably wouldn’t win that fortune in eight lifetis.

After a long while, Maya exhaled — smoothing away the storm in her chest.

Her composure returned.

The wind across the Athyst Summit Division courtyard seed to quiet as well — as though a mont had passed, and sothing unseen had shifted.
