The Bone That Changes Destiny

Sothing had shifted when she finally saw everything anew.

Breathing ca easier now. Lightness filled her limbs, not like glass about to crack, yet solid, grounded, alive with quiet force. With each reach, each subtle shift, strength stirred under her skin, soft but certain.

A tremor ran through her body. Silence followed close behind.

This is... ?

Earlier, before they went into the hall, Kevin told them a lot of things. He was in charge of organizing everything for the students.

Nobles stood beside everyday folk, yet lived apart by birth. Still, their paths crossed more than one might think.

Folks tending the soil - so moved like masters, others tripped over every root. So found rhythm in the dirt, while a few just kept stumbling through seasons without catching a break.

A person’s path showed most plainly through the sacred bone.

Through ages uncounted, the halls of Celestis Academy stood silent on such matters - few nas ever rose. A rare stirring within the body, like starlight cracking bone, marked those chosen. Not by effort nor will, but sothing older, deeper. Whispers passed between masters when it happened. Each instance carved into records like frost on stone. Ti folded around these monts, holding them close.

Legends rose from each person there.

A few sacred bones might show up now and then - yet they’d need uncommon gifts from above, costing so much that entire realms usually walk away.

Each person held back wonder like it might run out.

Which was why...

One day changed everything when she walked into the school without expecting much. That place held things she could not see at first glance. A quiet shift began right then, though she did not notice it until later. Life took turns shaped by choices made inside those walls

Finding her dormant power was worth more than gold to Leon. That mont called for a rare spark - so he reached for the Divine Marrow Pill instead.

Her throat tightened.

What chance did she have of paying it back?

Up she rose, then bent low at the waist.

"Thank you for the dicine, Teacher!"

Whatever words she chose, none could match the weight of thanks rising inside. At this mont, Leon filled her thoughts larger than life - soone who shaped destiny rather than followed it.

With a teacher like this

What makes her afraid of what cos next?

What reason did she have to question revenge?

Faint, yet steady, Leon spoke. His words arrived soft but clear.

"Alright, get up."

She rose slowly.

His eyes lingered on her face before he spoke again - calm, asured. A pause shaped his words. Quiet focus guided each syllable forward.

"Three months from now, the Celestis Academy will hold the once-every-sixty-years Seven Divisions Martial eting. As the eldest student of the Athyst Summit Division, I hope you can earn a ranking - and fight for our division’s reputation."

A softness colored his voice, yet sothing watchful waited underneath.

Last night, such a gathering wouldn’t have crossed his mind. Yet here it stands, real and uninvited.

But now...

the grand return system hums beneath his thoughts

Heh.

Three months.

Enough.

Fingers curled tight at her sides, Selena held them just short of full squeeze.

"Don’t worry, Teacher. I definitely won’t embarrass the Athyst Summit Division."

A strength sat in her words, quiet yet unshakable. Not loud pride, just certainty rooted deep.

She would win.

She did it alone. Not for love, but because anger kept her moving. His gesture had returned sothing she thought was lost forever.

Out of nowhere, a quiet pulse stirred inside her - ice-born, deep-rooted. It fed her power without noise or rush. Coolness spread through her mind, slow like dusk. Sharp clarity took hold, not forced, just there.

She never forgot the sha from Erald Crest

The sneers.The looks.

This mont, their eyes would open. They’d finally notice what was there.

A spark of purpose lived in the Athyst Summit Division. It did sothing after all.

Leon nodded, satisfied.

"Very good. You’ve awakened the Divine Ice Bones and stepped into the first stage of Mana Requirent on your own. You no longer need to struggle sensing mana blindly."

A shape ford in his palm when he raised it. The book hadn’t been there a mont before.

A dark purple hue cloaked the outside, while tiny markings traced each sheet within.

A soft mont passed between them when he set it down, right in her palms.

"This is the heritage Sacred Art of our division - the Purple Mist Mana Sutra."

"You just need to follow what’s written. Circulate mana exactly according to its guidance. If sothing confuses you, ask ."

A quiet breath followed her fingers as they took hold of the ssage. She held it like sothing that might dissolve.

A mont cracked open, sudden as a sunrise handed over. A door appears where there was only sky before.

"I understand."

Only now did she begin walking the road of cultivation. Her feet touched it for real, at last.

That afternoon, Leon moved slowly through each idea. Pausing often, he unfolded the core teachings buried within the ancient text. Not once did he speed ahead. Instead, quiet monts filled the space between words. His voice stayed steady, never talking down. aning erged without force.

Only when her feet stayed steady did he step back. He watched each movent, close enough to catch her if sothing slipped. The way she balanced mattered more than speed. Every stone in place ant one less chance of a fall. His job was just that - keeping the ground firm under her shoes.

He let her go in the end.

"Alright. Go back and rest for today. Starting tomorrow, you’ll ditate at dawn on Wangduan Cliff. Three sessions daily. Don’t waste ti."

A shift crept into his voice, subtle but clear. The edge arrived without warning.

"When your cultivation reaches the Onyx Realm, I’ll teach you the Athyst Mist Swordsmanship."

Selena bowed.

"I will rember this."

Whispering through the still boundary, the wind moved beyond.

A forgotten mountain...

The flicker ant to catch fire later on.
