Capital

Stacie needed to know the current state of affairs—whether high-level wizards were patrolling the area, and how tight the security had beco. If there were frequent patrols by those of considerable power, her mission could quickly spiral out of control.

As a Level-7 Wizard, Stacie had a fair amount of power at her disposal, but it wouldn't be enough against a Level-8 Wizard or anyone stronger. Wizards of that caliber could sense her presence from a distance, and if one were to spot her, she'd be forced into a confrontation or worse—imdiate suspicion.

Here, in a foreign land, any high-level wizard who wasn't from a recognized local force would be t with hostility, mistaken for a spy or worse, an enemy from a neighboring country.

Tensions were already high in Sand Rock Country. Rumors of conflict with neighboring nations had been swirling, creating an atmosphere of fear and suspicion. She couldn't afford to be caught up in that chaos. A confrontation with a powerful local wizard could an her cover blown—or worse, an attack by soone who saw her as a threat.

Stacie's mind was set. She had no intention of starting a fight or drawing attention to herself. Her goal was simple: complete her mission swiftly and silently, gather the information she needed, and leave the capital without leaving a trace. The clock was ticking, and every mont spent here increased the danger.

Her instincts scread at her to move carefully, to remain unseen. There was no room for mistakes, no margin for error. She didn't co this far just to be undone by a single misstep. Her mission was all that mattered now—gather the intel and get out, before anyone even realized she had been here.

...

From MC's Perspective:

Inside the Dean's office, after hearing the final confirmation that I could leave at any ti, I felt a sense of urgency settling in. There was no telling when I would have to depart, and I needed to be ready. I thanked the Dean, excused myself, and made my way out of the tower, my mind already turning to the preparations ahead.

Once I returned to my room, I imdiately began organizing everything. I took the most important items—relics, scrolls, potions—and stored them safely inside the Gregor Mansion, the pocket dinsion I had access to. It was a secure space, and I couldn't risk leaving anything vital behind. As I packed, I couldn't help but feel a strange calm wash over .

It had been a while since I stopped receiving any warnings from the system—the subtle alerts that used to indicate soone was watching over from the shadows, a guardian of sorts.

But now, those signals had ceased, aning the one who had been protecting had likely left. My privacy, sothing I hadn't felt in ages, had finally returned. Though a part of felt exposed without that silent protection, I was also relieved. I was free to move without being monitored.

After securing everything, I made my way out of the room and headed towards the Sub-Taboo Hall. I needed to speak with Senior Sister Carolina and Senior Brother Gilbert—there were things they needed to know before I left. On the way, I sent them both a quick ssage, letting them know I was coming.

As I walked through the corridors and across the campus, I remained cautious. I was hyper-aware of my surroundings, keeping an eye on anyone who might be watching or following .

I had learned long ago not to trust appearances; this place had more secrets than anyone cared to admit, and there was always a possibility that soone was lurking in the shadows. Even in the relatively safe environnt of the academy, I knew better than to let my guard down.

The closer I got to the Sub-Taboo Hall, the heavier the air seed to beco. This was no ordinary eting—I had to choose my words carefully with Carolina and Gilbert. They were among the few who knew parts of the truth, but soon, they would need to know everything.

I'm going to miss the wizards from the Bloodline Hall and Elental Hall, though it's a strange feeling to admit. These were the very people who made my early days here difficult, always looking for a way to test , push to the edge, or assert their dominance.

Whether it was subtle challenges or outright confrontations, they never missed an opportunity to cause trouble. Yet, over ti, sothing shifted. Perhaps they grew tired of their gas, or maybe they realized I wasn't as easy a target as they had once thought. Either way, the constant harassnt had finally ceased.

Still, a part of knows this won't be the end of it. Moving to a new organization ans starting over. I'll be the outsider again, the newcor with no reputation, no status, and no real power to speak of. And in a place where power dictates respect, it's likely I'll find myself dealing with similar challenges once more.

Until I prove myself—until I gain both the power and recognition that co with it—I'll have to endure.

It's almost a cycle I've grown accustod to: being underestimated, enduring the trials, and slowly clawing my way to the top. But I know the new organization will bring its own set of difficulties. The wizards there will be more ruthless, more ambitious, and far less forgiving of weakness. They'll test , just as the Bloodline and Elental Hall wizards did, and perhaps even more harshly.

Continue your adventure with empire

I'll have to remind myself that it's all temporary. The trials, the challenges—they're just stepping stones to sothing greater. Once I secure my place, once I prove that I'm not soone to be trifled with, things will change. But for now, I'll prepare myself to face whatever new obstacles the organization throws my way.

At least here, I've learned how to survive among predators. And I intend to do the sa in the new land, no matter how long it takes.
