From MC’s Perspective:
Ti passed.
Midnight arrived. Suddenly, I opened my eyes. I imdiately thought of the stone houses outside.
I got out of bed and went to the control room to see. I arrived in front of the control mirror. Then I saw sothing new.
The stone houses were lit. The space outside the stones was bright. My eyes flashed with surprise. I started to pay closer attention.
The source of the illumination seed to be so kind of illuminating stone. My eyes flickered with understanding.
I decided to stay here and watch the stone houses.
As ti passed, the bright stones continued to illuminate the place. I hoped to see soone co outside.
But no one ca out or went inside.
Ti passed.
Morning ca. One of the stone house doors opened. An old man wearing torn clothes walked outside.
Upon seeing him, I imdiately felt uneasy. His arms were different, not human arms, but a monster’s arms.
As I looked closer at the creepy arms, I realized they resembled tree roots. A hint of disbelief flashed in my eyes.
I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. I’m already facing a threat from the tree monster, and here, the old wizard had undergone transmutation.
He had tree root-like arms instead of human arms.
Then I saw the old man seed to be leaving. Seeing that, I hesitated. I decided to wait for the other stone houses to open.
Ti passed.
I saw three more old n walk out of their stone houses one by one. Each of them had tree transplants in their bodies.
Two of them had transmuted legs. The last one had his body changed, appearing to be a humanoid tree monster.
I didn’t know what kind of magic this was. I had heard of transmutation magic back in the True Elent Society.
After that experience, I’m only seeing it here for the first ti. What’s more, they appeared to be strong as well.
A few minutes later, all four of them left their stone houses. Before going, they took their bright stones with them. Since it was daylight, there was no use for them.
Swoosh!
I appeared outside and landed on the ground. Once again, I checked the place using the system function and found that the traps were active.
Seeing that, I wasn’t surprised. Since it’s confird that these strange old n were living here, it’s normal for them to leave behind safety asures.
Then I started observing the surroundings, especially the ground around . I was looking for dark tree roots.
I didn’t think the 10th Order Monster had given up. But to my surprise, there was no presence of them whatsoever.
I used the system again, but the response was the sa. The dark tree roots hadn’t reached here.
I turned my attention toward the giant trees, their trunks, and branches. There were no changes in them.
Finally, I believed it. The monster was not here.
A few minutes later, just as I was spending ti here, the system sent a warning voice again.
[Ding! Warning]
[A Supre Wizard is coming.]
Hearing that, I stood up from the small boulder and looked ahead. I could hear soone approaching the stone houses.
Then I saw an 11-foot-tall old man with tree hands. Seeing that, I was dumbfounded. Inside the Gregor Mansion, the old man appeared to be of normal height.
The old man’s expression changed. His skin tone was pale. He had very short black hair and eyes. But his tree arms were different.
The old man’s gaze fell on the stranger here. His eyes flashed with surprise because the wizard seed young.
He couldn’t see through the strength of the young man. He stood a few ters in front of him and began to observe the young man more closely.
On the other hand, I saw the old man stop moving. He was observing with his eyes. Seeing that, I decided to ask him a few questions.
It’s best to avoid confrontation.
I asked, "I have a few questions. I hope you can answer . Then I’ll leave from here."
While asking, I didn’t show any fear on my face.
The old man was stunned. He thought no young man would co here, especially to the Forbidden Area.
He believed the person was either a Supre Wizard or a Forbidden Wizard. Only they could alter their appearance to look young.
Whereas they had no choice. They had to undergo transmutation to continue living.
The old man knew that people who could enter the forbidden area from outside either had a big background or were wanted criminals.
He didn’t think the young man was a wanted criminal.
So he decided to answer those questions.
"What is it?" he asked.
Hearing that, I put my heart at ease.
"I’m looking for Wanted Criminal Theo Bernard. Do you know about his whereabouts?" I asked him.
Hearing the familiar na, the old man’s heart was set off by storms. His facial expression changed.
He was afraid of the na "Theo Bernard."
Seeing that the young man was asking about him, he realized it must be Theo Bernard’s enemy.
"Young man, I don’t know which force you’re from, but I’ll give you friendly advice. Don’t go looking for him.
Unless you co with one or two Forbidden Wizards, it’s impossible to catch him," the old man said.
Hearing that, I was stunned. According to the palace staff, the wanted criminal is a Supre Wizard.
Then why would I need the help of Forbidden-level Wizards?
The old man saw that the young man looked confused. He decided to clarify.
"There are Forbidden Wizards who have tried to capture him inside the Forbidden Area, but he was able to escape from them alive.
He has a record of killing many Supre Wizards. Many powerful wizard organizations have given up their search.
You seem to have co here alone. So go back and live your life," the old man said in a grim tone.
Hearing that, I understood the old man wouldn’t reveal anything unless I said sothing else.
"My job is to collect intel. I’ll go back if you tell about him," I said to him.
Hearing that, the old man was surprised, but he believed it. The wizard organizations wouldn’t send their people alone.
He thought the young man must be part of a team, and their team leader must be a Forbidden Wizard.
