From MC’s Perspective:
I started to scan the place by using the system probe function. The Zero Puppet was doing the sa as well.
A few minutes later,
It beca clear that the place was safe. Apart from the piles of bones, there was no danger here. But this place stretches for miles.
There could be a shelter here. Since the ancient markings ntioned that there is a shelter, then there must be one.
"Zero, search for the underground shelter," I said to Zero.
"If you find any similar ancient markings, then remind ," I added.
Swoosh!
The next second, the puppet moved away from the spot and began to look for the underground shelter. Seeing that, I started searching in the opposite direction.
While searching, I was looking at the skeleton bones as well. The bones were of varied sizes. So were small and others were large.
As ti passed, I moved from one mass pile of bones to another area. But so far, there was no clue. Yet I couldn’t help but wonder who had made these piles.
Soone must have done it. Otherwise, these bones would have been scattered across the place. Soone had taken the effort to separate the large bones from the small ones.
That’s why I could see small piles of bones and larger piles of bones. As this realization dawned on , I imdiately felt a sense of crisis.
I turned towards the direction where the Zero Puppet went. I felt that this place was not good.
Swoosh!
I quickly went in the opposite direction to find the Zero Puppet. I didn’t want the puppet to et with danger. Otherwise, I could lose a great helper.
Not long after, I ca across the sa piles of bones. I found traces on the ground. They were the footprints of the Zero Puppet.
Seeing that, my eyes flashed with a gleam. Then I started following the footprints. While doing that, I crossed several skeletal remains.
Boom!
It didn’t take long for to hear a loud noise from a distance. The loud noises stunned . Then I started rushing towards that place.
Soon, I reached that place and saw the Zero Puppet fighting against soone. When I turned towards that enemy, the person was wearing old torn clothes.
Upon seeing that, I imdiately rushed to the side of the puppet.
"ZERO, stop it," I shouted out loud.
Hearing that, Zero imdiately paused its fight. After noticing its master, it quickly ca to my side.
At the sa ti, I used the system probe function on the enemy.
[Ding! Crippled Supre Wizard.]
[Still he can hurt the host.]
The system’s voice sounded in my mind. My expression beca serious. My gaze fell on the skeleton-looking old man.
He was staring into my eyes as well.
"So you are the owner of the puppet!"
"Could you tell where you got this one?" An old male voice reached my ears. I imdiately felt goosebumps.
The old man appeared to be very old, at death’s door. Yet his eyes were bright. His appearance and way of talking didn’t look like those of a crippled person.
While looking at him, I felt creepy. I knew sothing was definitely wrong. I should not give a chance to a Forr Supre Wizard.
"Gravity Blast!"
I imdiately cast the 6th stage of the magic spell. A powerful gray wisp of mana was released from my forefinger.
In a flash, the gray wisp of the magic spell attack reached the old man. The old man was stunned. With his supre senses, he had felt mana earlier.
Since he was crippled, he couldn’t use his magic spell. The old man raised his hand to block the attack.
Boom!
The magic spell struck the old man’s hand. An explosion occurred the next second.
On the other hand, I brought the Zero Puppet inside the Gregor Mansion with .
Once the aftermath was settled, the noise and smoke were gone. The old man remained in the sa spot. But his hand looked burnt.
Yet nothing happened to him overall. The old man’s bright eyes looked at the spot. But no one was there. His eyes flashed with surprise.
With his old body, he ca to the spot and began to observe the place. He saw no evidence that space magic or teleportation-type magic had been used.
So he was surprised. He continued to look at the place. Though he was crippled, he hadn’t lost his eyesight. He could see mana lines in the surroundings.
For Supre Wizards, they could collect more details from the surroundings. The old man found out that there was no disturbance in the mana lines.
It showed they hadn’t used any magic spell to escape.
"What’s going on here?" The old man asked himself.
Even if the person had used so kind of magic artifact, it was easy to leave behind traces. The old man continued to stay in this spot despite the confusion.
Inside the Gregor Mansion, I was standing in front of the control mirror with Zero Puppet. Seeing that the old man was investigating the surroundings, my heart skipped a beat.
From his actions, I could guess that he might be looking at the mana lines. Because I could see the mana lines at my level-9 stage.
But he was a forr Supre Wizard. He could see more details. His mana core might have been crippled. But his other body functions might still be at the level of a Supre.
As this realization dawned on , I started thinking that I had made the right decision to co here. Then my gaze turned towards Zero Puppet.
I asked, "How did you co across him?"
"Master, I found the shelter. It was hidden under huge skeleton remains. Before I could completely remove the skeleton remains, an old man blocked my path."
"He saw through my puppet body despite the magic cloak," he added.
"It’s good that there is a shelter. Maybe he knew about the wanted criminal," I uttered.
The old man was the second human wizard after the tree man that I had co across. But he seed to be more dangerous than the tree man.
