Great Capital City
The journey was fine for so ti, but slowly the traffic started to increase. It didn’t take long for a jam to occur.
The sky was full of flying cabs and trucks. The land route was the sa; it was even more crowded. It had no space to move.
Seeing this, the driver was displeased. Recently, the traffic has increased due to the competition. All the hotels are getting booked.
All the important tourist spots are being visited by a large number of visitors.
A couple of minutes passed, yet the traffic didn’t clear. Instead, a greater number of cars gathered behind us.
Eventually, the ti exceeded one hour. I was sitting in the back seat. I felt like ti was being wasted.
I noticed the large number of cars outside. Seeing that the traffic was not reducing, I took the map out.
Then I viewed the map. I saw a less-trafficked route. It was the route ntioned on the map.
I made a decision. The less-trafficked route is the most dangerous one. Right now, no one is choosing that route.
But I might co across danger again. Not only that, the Magic Lords are chasing after . I could co across them again.
I shook my head. Then I told the driver to choose the less-trafficked route.
Hearing that, the driver’s expression changed drastically. He shook his head and said, "No, the place is filled with danger. The gangsters have taken over the street. They might attack the cab."
The driver categorically refused. He was not going to use that path. While talking, his face showed extre fear. Seeing that, I understood that the old man had suffered before.
"Is there anyone who uses the path?" I asked him.
The driver was shocked. He didn’t expect the young man to be adamant. Then he realized that the masked man was going to the border.
Maybe he was going to try to beco a follower of the Young Master Raymond.
Then he said, "There are delivery services. They use their vans to deliver their goods. You can contact them."
I didn’t know what to say. This place is the capital.
How could such cri be taking place? Confusion appeared in my mind. I had never heard of such a rogue street before.
Especially knowing that there are powerful wizard families here.
The driver saw my confusion. He decided to clarify my doubts. He took a deep breath and said, "Guest, let give you so advice."
"The mafia gangs are working for so powerful wizard families. There is a tactical understanding between the families and the governnt."
"Unless there is a big issue, the governnt won’t intervene. The public kind of knows about it. But no one has the guts to confront these families," he added.
Hearing that, my doubts were cleared. I thanked the old man for it. Next, I paid the fare to the driver before exiting.
The vehicle sounds and street noise were high outside. I ca to the other side of the street and walked on the footpath.
My next goal was to find a delivery company. I saw so passersby and started asking around. So of them suggested a place which was within walking distance from there.
Then I walked through the narrow street alleys before finding the place. There was a company called Speed Service. The na was perfect.
Seeing that, I walked up to the company. It was a tall, multi-story brick building. I walked up to the door.
Creak!
I opened the door and walked inside. My gaze fell on the people inside. There were staff in the uniform of the company.
"Who are you?" a middle-aged man asked.
Hearing that, seven or eight people who were moving goods paused their work.
"I need to go to the border. But the main path has been blocked because of the traffic," I said to them.
The middle-aged man and other staff were taken aback. They didn’t expect soone to say this so openly.
The middle-aged man collected his thoughts and said, "But we have our own route. We don’t use the main route."
I smiled and said, "I need to reach the border faster. So I’m ready to use the other path."
The middle-aged man and others didn’t know what to say. Then the middle-aged man looked at the staff behind him.
He asked, "Who is going to the border next?"
A dark-haired man stepped forward. His na is Matt. He looked at the custor and was surprised. The custor was wearing a mask.
When he tried to see through the strength of the masked man, he couldn’t do it. He was shocked inside.
He then looked at the middle-aged man. He saw the shock in the middle-aged man’s eyes. He understood that the man could not see through it as well.
"I’m going next," the black-haired man said.
The middle-aged man nodded his head and said, "He is going to deliver the goods. You can go with him. But you have to pay 100 mid-grade mana stones."
My heart stirred. I didn’t expect he would ask for so much. Then I thought of the hotel; I had already paid them. I couldn’t stay outside for many days.
I had to use this opportunity.
"Okay," I replied.
Then I took the mana pouch out and handed it over to them. The middle-aged man took the pouch and scanned it.
A bright smile appeared on his face. He then signaled the black-haired man with his eyes.
"Co with ," the black-haired man uttered.
I sighed in relief and started walking forward behind him. He first entered a nearby room and collected all the marked goods.
These were the goods to be delivered. Then he turned around and looked at the masked man.
He nodded to him before coming to the back of the house. There was a large flying vehicle parked behind.
The black-haired man first loaded the goods inside. Then he shut the door and ca to the front. He sat in the driver’s seat.
He then asked to sit on the left side. I ca to the front and sat beside him.
