## Step 2: Integrated Translation and Polishing

Now I’ll translate and polish the text according to the guidelines:

The Chapter takes place in Dinghai City’s South City area. Wu Liangchen goes to visit his sister at a laundry shop located near a polluted ditch. He ets Jin Cui and his sister Wu ngchan. We see the poor conditions his sister works in and how her hands are damaged from the work. Wu Liangchen tells her he bought at and flour to make dumplings for dinner, and she’s happy.

After he leaves, Jin Cui comnts on how handso Wu Liangchen is. Later, we discover Wu Liangchen was actually working as a rickshaw puller to earn money, which is why he’s so exhausted. He returns ho to a rundown neighborhood and interacts with neighbors, including the kind Third Master and Third Granny.

While looking for a rolling pin to make dumplings, he finds a manual on "Five Animals Fist". When he touches it, his system activates, showing he can use "Life Fire" to learn the technique. He decides to do so, consuming so of his Life Fire and successfully learning the martial art.

Let proceed with the full translation now:

The laundry shop was located beside a small ditch in the southeast corner of South City.

Though called a small ditch, it had long since beco a dumping ground for garbage and wastewater from nearby residents and shops. As a result, one could sll its overwhelming stench from far away, making for a truly wretched environnt.

When Wu Liangchen arrived at the laundry shop, before he could even ask for anyone, a young woman who had co out to dump dirty water spotted him, her eyes imdiately lighting up.

"Who are you looking for?"

Wu Liangchen replied straightforwardly, "I’m looking for my sister, Wu ngchan."

"Ah, so you’re ngchan’s brother! I’m Jin Cui, very nice to et you," said the robust young woman excitedly.

Wu Liangchen didn’t know this girl, but out of politeness, he nodded.

"Thank you. Could you please go inside and call my sister out? I have sothing to tell her."

"Of course, no problem!"

With that, Jin Cui turned and shouted into the shop.

"ngchan, quick! Your brother is here!"

Wu Liangchen: "..."

Following her simple-minded shout, footsteps soon echoed from inside the shop, and Wu ngchan quickly erged.

She wore a large smock so dirty that its original color was indiscernible, completely concealing what should have been a young woman’s graceful figure.

Looking at her face, her hair was disheveled, with several strands of bangs clinging to her sweat-covered forehead. Her emaciated face was dirty, with only a pair of bright, blinking eyes showing any vitality.

Upon seeing Wu Liangchen, Wu ngchan was both surprised and delighted.

"Brother, what brings you here?"

"Nothing much, just wanted to see how you’re doing," Wu Liangchen said with a smile, though deep in his eyes flashed a hint of heartache.

Because he had noticed Wu ngchan’s hands.

What terrible hands they were. Though her fingers were slender with distinct knuckles, the skin was wrinkled and covered with needle pricks and wounds. So areas were nearly festering—they looked nothing like a young girl’s hands.

Wu Liangchen knew these were the results of prolonged imrsion in dirty water, while the wounds were scars from nding clothes.

Working at a laundry shop involved more than just washing clothes; one also had to nd garnts for custors. It was extrely laborious work—even the strongest person would have a bent back after a day of such toil.

And when he had been bedridden at ho, his sister would co back after a busy day and still have to take care of him.

Heaven knows how much pressure this young girl had endured and how she had managed to persevere.

"Have you eaten lunch, Brother? If not, I still have so leftover food here," Wu ngchan’s greatest concern was whether her brother had eaten.

"Of course I have. A friend treated to at pancakes from Jinghe Restaurant at lunch. And my friend even lent so money, so I bought so at and flour. Tonight, we’ll have dumplings with plenty of filling," Wu Liangchen said with a smile.

Wu ngchan paused slightly, then nodded obediently. "Great!"

"I’ll head back first. Co ho early after work!"

"Mm-hmm!"

Wu Liangchen said nothing more, as any further delay might displease the laundry shop’s proprietress.

Only after he had turned and walked so distance did Jin Cui reluctantly withdraw her gaze, then said to Wu ngchan with envy:

"ngchan, you once said no one in all of Dinghai City is more handso than your brother. I thought you were exaggerating, but now I see it’s true. And your brother is so good to you! I’m so jealous!"

In response to her friend’s words, Wu ngchan rely smiled faintly, then said softly, "Let’s get back, or the proprietress will start yelling again."

Sure enough, at that mont, the proprietress’s coarse shout ca from inside the shop.

"Jin Cui, you wretch! Are you going to take a year to dump that dirty water? Did you fall into the ditch?"

"Coming, coming, don’t rush!" Jin Cui called back while whispering to Wu ngchan:

"I’ll go back first. When the proprietress starts scolding , you can sneak back in, and you’ll be fine!"

With that, she picked up her bucket of dirty water and returned to the shop.

Wu ngchan stood in place for a mont, then turned to look in the direction her brother had gone, her eyes suddenly reddening.

Although her brother had concealed it well, Wu ngchan was sharp-witted and could easily see through the facade.

If nothing else, the things he had bought today didn’t add up.

While Brother Yuan was kind-hearted, his family wasn’t well-off either. How could he possibly lend so much money?

So her brother must have been... pulling a rickshaw.

Thinking of this, Wu ngchan’s heart trembled. She lowered her head, wiped the corners of her eyes, and quickly walked back into the shop.

While there was still ti, she would wash more clothes and earn as much as possible to ease her brother’s burden.

This was the only thought in Wu ngchan’s mind at that mont.

Wu Liangchen’s ho was in a tenent yard in South City, the filthiest area in all of Dinghai City. The streets perpetually flowed with black, foul water, and in sumr, the stench was unbearable, attracting countless flies and mosquitoes.

When soone walked by, these insects would rise in a swarm, like a dark cloud.

When Wu Liangchen had first transmigrated here, he had nearly broken down at such sights.

Even now, seeing the incredibly filthy streets made him physically uncomfortable.

After earning so money, he was determined to take his sister to live sowhere else.

Wu Liangchen quietly resolved this, then entered the tenent yard.

The pathway was crowded with miscellaneous objects on both sides, leaving only a narrow passage barely wide enough for a person to pass through.

Wu Liangchen navigated his way through these obstacles while greeting his neighbors.

"Second Sister-in-law, doing laundry?"

"Fifth Brother, ho early today?"

"Third Grandpa, have you eaten yet?"

As Wu Liangchen greeted them, the neighbors responded warmly.

Especially the old man sitting at his doorway enjoying the cool air, who, upon seeing Wu Liangchen return, grinned with his single remaining front tooth.

"Xiaowu, co quick, let’s play a couple of gas!"

Third Granny peeked out from behind the old man and said irritably, "Enough! The boy just got back after a busy day, how could he have ti to play chess with an old man like you?"

She handed over a pancake as she spoke.

"Freshly made corn pancake, Xiaowu. Eat this first to fill your stomach a bit."

As longti neighbors, Wu Liangchen and his sister had grown up under Third Granny’s watchful eye, so she felt great sympathy for these orphaned children.

She often gave the siblings food to eat.

During the period when Wu Liangchen was bedridden with illness, Third Granny had helped a great deal; otherwise, he might not have survived until now.

Wu Liangchen smiled and waved his hand. "No need, Third Granny. I had a rich al at lunch and I’m not hungry yet. Third Master, I’ll play a couple of gas with you when I have ti!"

"All right, I’ll be waiting for you!"

"Sure thing!"

Amidst warm greetings, Wu Liangchen returned to the room where he and his sister lived.

The two small rooms were crooked and uneven, but fortunately, the roof, doors, and windows were still intact, providing shelter from wind and rain.

The door wasn’t locked—there was nothing worth locking up anyway.

After all, the most valuable thing Wu Liangchen owned now was the clothes on his back.

Plus, living in the tenent yard ant neighbors naturally watched each other’s doors, so locks were unnecessary.

Wu Liangchen pushed open the door, placed the items he’d bought on the table, took off his outer clothes, and lay down shirtless on the bed.

His body, weary from a day’s toil, finally got a brief respite. Wu Liangchen breathed a long sigh of relief, feeling pain in every bone and joint.

’This is fucking exhausting!’

This was absolutely not a job ant for humans!

The key problem was that there seed to be no end to such days. If Wu Liangchen hadn’t obtained his golden finger, he would have been plunged into deep despair by now.

Thinking of this, Wu Liangchen sighed quietly and summoned the light screen.

[Rickshaw Pulling: Proficient (16/200)]

After an afternoon of hard work, his rickshaw pulling skill had increased by four points, which made Wu Liangchen feel his efforts hadn’t been wasted.

The only drawback was that he earned too little. After working an entire day until his legs could barely move, after deducting the rickshaw rental fee, he was left with less than thirty copper coins.

This amount was barely enough to survive on, with nothing left to save.

It seed that if he wanted to save money, he would have to rent a first-class rickshaw to pull custors!

Thinking of this, Wu Liangchen couldn’t help but recall Yang Hu’s brawny face.

How had he offended this Yang Hu in the first place?

And the death of his predecessor, even if not directly caused by Yang Hu, was inextricably linked to him.

Though Wu Liangchen lacked the strength for revenge now, he ntally added Yang Hu’s na to his list.

After resting for a mont, Wu Liangchen struggled to get up and began preparing dinner.

Previously, his sister Wu ngchan had always cooked, but since Wu Liangchen had returned early today, he decided to do it himself.

His predecessor had been so poor he had nearly pawned his pants, so naturally there weren’t many cooking ingredients—just so coarse salt in a clay pot and a pitiful puddle of oil at the bottom of the oil bottle.

However, Wu Liangchen had deliberately chosen fattier at scraps today, which would be perfect for making dumplings.

But to make dumplings, he needed a rolling pin. Wu Liangchen rembered they had one, but didn’t know where his sister had put it, so he began searching their cramped room.

While looking through a nearly broken cabinet, he suddenly discovered a yellowed booklet.

Three words were written on it: Five Animals Fist.

Wu Liangchen was startled, then recalled that this had been left behind by a passenger whom his predecessor had transported.

At the ti, his predecessor had thought he’d found a martial arts manual and was so excited that he stopped working and rushed ho.

But after carefully studying it with much guesswork, he discovered the booklet wasn’t a martial arts technique at all, but rather sothing like a health preservation thod.

This thing wasn’t at all rare or valuable.

Upon discovering this, his predecessor had lost interest and casually tossed it aside.

Wu Liangchen, however, felt curious and reached out to take the booklet for a look.

As soon as he touched it, several lines of prompts suddenly appeared before his eyes.

[Technique Na: Five Animals Fist]

[Technique Level: Lower-Middle Grade]

[Estimated Consumption: 1.31 strands of Life Fire]

[Do you wish to consu Life Fire to simulate learning?]

Simulate learning?

So that’s what Life Fire is used for!

The thought flashed through Wu Liangchen’s mind, and he excitedly selected "Yes."

In an instant, the Ten Thousand Laws Tripod in his sea of consciousness emitted a beam of light, and the Five Animals Fist manual in his hand vanished.

Simultaneously, Wu Liangchen felt the Qi and Blood throughout his body rapidly depleting. His already thin fra beca even more emaciated, and his complexion turned pale.

Though his entire body seed about to collapse, after just a mont, intense joy appeared on Wu Liangchen’s face.

Because before his eyes, two lines of prompts appeared:

[Simulation successful, consud 1.28 strands of Life Fire]

[Technique Acquired: Five Animals Fist]

[Five Animals Fist: Beginner (31/100)]
