After Jiang Ran finished listening, he thought for a mont, then lowered his head and asked, "Then at around three or four this morning, that person was right outside the door. Why didn't you go out and catch him? Why did you let him slip away before the police arrived?"
Shangguan Fei answered honestly, "To be frank, I was a little scared."

Not only did he say he would personally stay to help, he also told Jiang Ran, "Jiang Ran, co with us. The more people, the stronger we'll be!"
Jiang Ran didn't buy that persuasive speech. "Forget it. Don't drag into this. If you want to go, go yourself."

He massaged his aching lower back with both hands.
Jiang Ran took the elevator up to the third floor. Just as he stepped out of the elevator, his phone rang.
"Why is everyone calling today?"
Jiang Ran felt like today his luck might be off. He pulled out his phone and saw another unknown number. He picked up. A man's voice ca through.
"Hello, is this Assistant Manager Jiang Ran?"
Jiang Ran thought it was probably another resident. "Yes, this is he. Who's calling?"
"Oh, I'm Lin Feng from Room 904. I need a favor."
"Okay, I'll be up right away."
After hanging up, Jiang Ran rubbed his waist and re-entered the elevator. Soon he arrived at Room 904's door.
When he saw the silver tal door of 904, Jiang Ran froze. The door inexplicably gave off a solid sense of security;
when he knocked it felt completely solid. It was a lot sturdier than his newly replaced security door.
After admiring the silver tal security door for a mont, he prepared to knock. Just as he raised his right hand, the door suddenly opened. A sowhat handso man's face smiled at him and invited him in.
Jiang Ran stepped inside and the man closed the door. Standing in the living room, Jiang Ran looked around and quickly noticed that the balcony glass here was different from other apartnts, though he didn't dwell on it.
"Here, drink so water."
At that mont, a tall, very pretty girl carrying a cup of water handed it to Jiang Ran. He glanced at the beautiful girl with long straight black hair. Earlier he'd only been looking at Lin Feng's face and didn't recall anything. Seeing this pretty girl's face now, he imdiately recognized her—she seed to be the new resident who had co to the welco party a while back, part of a couple.
"What did you need for?"
He had to admit this couple was good-looking—especially the girl, whose level of beauty surpassed Lin Feng's handsoness by several degrees. The only flaw, which many beautiful girls share, was that she was a flighty type.
