Shen Xing was the ex-girlfriend who had called earlier.
Jiang Ran replied calmly, "We broke up long ago."
"Broke up?" Everyone looked shocked, especially Wang Qingzhao sitting to Jiang Ran's left.
"How? You two were so close! I was already preparing to attend your wedding after graduation!" the big guy exclaid.
Jiang Ran remained composed. "Forget the wedding wine. Shen Xing thought I was too poor, so she found soone richer."
This surprised the big guy—the Shen Xing they knew in college hadn't seed materialistic at all. Jiang Ran simply said people change; just because soone didn't care about money before didn't an they never would.
Suddenly, the big guy suggested, "Hey, Jiang Ran, Wang Qingzhao—since you're both single now, why not get together?"
The big guy had activated his "matchmaker" skill.
The two protagonists were stunned, instinctively making eye contact before imdiately looking away in mutual embarrassnt.
The big guy downed another full glass of baijiu in one gulp, then continued, "Co on, no need to hide it anymore. Back then, everyone knew both you, Wang Qingzhao, and Shen Xing liked Jiang Ran. He just happened to choose Shen Xing. Now that she's gone, wouldn't you two make a great pair?"
Just as he finished speaking, the private room door suddenly swung open.
Everyone assud it was the waiter, but instead, familiar faces appeared.
"Looks like we're not too late after all!" a clear female voice rang out.
Jiang Ran's ex-girlfriend Shen Xing had arrived—with her boyfriend Zhou Wu in tow.
